Popular Post Kevvik
Game #1: Quest of Dungeons Day 3 Impressions Time played: 13 hrs So beyond my first impressions, there haven't been a lot of changes. I ran through a second dungeon which runs pretty much the same as the first with a different final boss who stole the magic lamp. I used the assassin who is more of an archer with a ranged attack. The ability to attack a long distance away feels a little OP to me so I am using him for the hard mode run that I have started through a custom 10 floor dungeon. I'm on floor 3 there and it's going well as long as you take it slow. I also ran through the original dungeon on easy with the wizard. I really didn't notice a difference between easy and normal. What I did notice was a distinct resistance to magic for bosses on the lower floors (in easy) to the point where I ended up taking out one random boss (who I had to kill as there was no route around him) and the final boss with melee attacks. With the wizard. Really? Bit of a poorly balanced play there. Spells with the wizard were kind of fun though you have to watch your mana on busier rooms. Beyond a fireball spell you start with, you need to rely on what tomes you find. I only found 1 in the first three floors. Luckily I found a really strong staff on floor 2 which made up for the lack of options. Didn't try the shaman or necrodancer yet. I'll fiddle with those later on. Overall, it's still fun though the imbalance resisting magic made the wizard less enjoyable at the finish of his dungeon run. I expect hard and hell runs to be slow going but I should be able to finish it later on. Trophies earned: 14/26, 31% for C rank 3 day rating: 7/10 Completion rate: 81.22% (-0.26%) Also did a couple of trophies on Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters so that brought my CR up slightly. I'll be playing this intermittently for Weeblympics and Monthly Madness. Next up: Still haven't decided yet if it will be a console or Vita title up next. Tune in tomorrow to find out! Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #1: Lili: Child of Geos (Day 3) My opinion from the first review still stands. It is just to repetitive. The "fights" against the spirits are getting harder but are still pretty easy. I think I'm near the end of the game, which probably will be a fight against the mayor of Geos. I guess it's like every other fight too. I didn't mention the side quests last time but will do it now. These side quests give you rare flowers for mostly running around, talking to someone or finding a treasure in one of the chests. The most annoyin part are of this game are the trophies. They aren't hard to obtain but very grindy. You have to pick 1000 flowers, break 1000 vases and scare 500 birds. Right now I have about 400 flowers, 200 vases and 280 birds. All these things are everywhere and respawn when you enter an area. That means you can leave an area and go back to collect everything again. Time played: About 3 hours Trophies: 9/23 Rating: This time I'll use Billy's scale and give this game a

Popular Post Melanogaster1987
Game #1 of 10: Pinball Arcade A pinball simulation game that features real pinball machines from the top manufacturers (Williams, Bally and Gottlieb machines, mostly). The first table (Tales of the Arabian Nights) is free to download, but if you want more than just this one machine, you're going to have to buy DLC table packs or season packs. This gets very expensive if you want to buy everything like I did (all six seasons currently available weighs in at almost £150 on the UK PSN store), but there is a ton of content here - over 80 tables out now, with another one being released each month. If you like "playing the silver ball", you're getting potentially thousands of hours of gameplay for your money. A game like this can only be as good as the real-life tables it is simulating, and The Pinball Arcade really hits it out of the park here. You don't get just any pinball machines, you get an all-star lineup of the best tables ever made. Check the top rated list on the Internet Pinball Machine Database (ipdb.org) and you'll see that the vast majority of the top 100 solid-state tables are included. Many of the top ones not in the game are based on movies or TV series - licensing would be a problem for these. When it comes to the range of tables, the developers (FarSight Studios) simply couldn't have done better than this regarding quality. However, I do wish that more tables from the early years of pinball history were included - we currently have lots of tables spanning from 1966 to the 21st century; and they do a mighty fine job of showcasing how pinball has evolved over the decades, but I would like to have seen a handful of machines from the 1930s, '40s and '50s as well, to give us a taste of what the game was like in its infancy. As for the accuracy of the simulated machines, I'm pleased to report that the in-game tables seem to be recreated exactly like their real-life counterparts. I've been searching for pictures and videos of the real things for a few of the tables on offer, and everything on the playfield looks and sounds just like it should in The Pinball Arcade. Gameplay modes and scoring rules are all present and correct, too. The first pinball machine I ever played in real life was High Speed II: The Getaway, back when I was 7, and trying it out in The Pinball Arcade 22 years later brought some good memories of my many hours spent in arcades as a kid flooding back. That nostalgic experience might not have happened without all the little details being right. All of the above is great, but pinball games live and die by their ball physics, and it would be a crying shame if this was messed up - I've played some bad pinball games in the past whose interpretation of physics would have had Isaac Newton spinning in his grave! Fortunately, The Pinball Arcade does a good job here as well. Apart from one or two times where the ball plunger seemed a bit reluctant to spring the ball into play with sufficient force, I haven't noticed any real problems with the physics. However, maybe there is a bit of room for improvement, given that those on the Pinball Arcade forums who have far more experience than me when it comes to playing the real things are in near-universal agreement that the simulations play significantly easier than their real-life equivalents. The only thing I've really found not to like about Pinball Arcade is the presence of a couple of annoying bugs. Firstly, the tables that use an alphanumeric LCD display to show scores and messages don't display certain letters correctly in the PS4 version - there are missing line segments in the M, N, Q, R, V, W and * characters, which just doesn't look good. Why they haven't cleaned up such a noticeable problem after 5 years of updates, releases and fixes baffles me. Also, at the end of a game, sometimes the Pinball Arcade's HUD doesn't reappear, forcing me to quit back to the PS4's main menu. Finally, it would have been nice to have trophies for all the tables, not just the first season, but I can't blame FarSight for this - it's Sony's fault that the trophy system only allows for so many DLC trophy packs per game. My rating (using BillyHorrible's system): Platinum/Gold/Gold- The best pinball simulation I've seen yet. If you're at all into pinball, it's definitely worth downloading and at least giving the free table a try. --- Trophies earned in this game: 10 (3, 7) for 195 points [12% completion] Current completion rate: 58.95% [Down 0.88%] Edited November 4, 2017 by Melanogaster1987
Popular Post Edward_FOX_86
GAME #1 FIFA 13 PS VITA This is a follow up the my initial thoughts on this game. Is it worth buying if you have a vita and if you are a fan of FIFA and football ? Yes. In my opinion it's worth it even if you have the console version as well. This is a great game on the GO. My initial thoughts were spot on I think so yes this and almost all FIFA games seem like an updated version or DLC of the previous ones. They update the teams and that's pretty much it. This is why I always wait for a price drop on any FIFA game. For instance this one and FIFA Football for the vita cost me a little over 5 €. Just a quick side note if we're doing Bonus Games I started Injustice Gods Among US and I have to say Its pretty similar to the New Mortal Kombat and it kicks ass. Definitely one of the best fighting games out there and an easy to learn combat method. I'm loving it ^^ Cheers Everyone and Have fun with your Games I already learned about new games to add to my wishlist

Popular Post Metal Slime King
Game #1 - Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn I played quite a bit again today. I started levequests (the main grind because there is a daily allotment and 1000 are needed for a trophy) which are special solo missions and guildheists which are the multiplayer missions, so I've sampled most of the types of content. Both of the mmo's I've played were heavy on content that could be played solo in the beginning and only the end-game content really stresses the multiplayer aspect. The guildheists I've done were very similar (but shorter) to the early dungeons in Neverwinter where you could be thrown into a random group and the objectives are simple enough that a lack of coordination isn't an issue. From the little I've read it seems the end-game content in FFXIV also places greater emphasis on multiplayer coordination. Although FFXIV very much has the aesthetics of an FF game it feels more like playing Neverwinter than other FF games I've played. So if you like offline FF games but dislike mmo's then the familiar graphics, music and general atmosphere might not be enough to get you into the game. If you don't know whether you like mmo's you could try Neverwinter since it's F2P (and cost is an issue because you have to pay a monthly charge to access FFXIV) and imo plays better but if you're worried about completion you might want to use an alt account. I would give the game a (-), I like it and am having fun but I do have some issues with it. The weird game loader that can't download updates in the background. I'm still having issues with the targeting system in combat. Sometimes it will force focus on a far away enemy or an npc and I'll have to manually focus on the enemy attacking me after each attack command I enter. Maybe this is something I can adjust in the menu somewhere, the menu system is pretty convoluted. Some of the cut-scenes seem weirdly muted. I would give the trophies in the game a () they were poorly thought out and tacked on because Sony needed there to be trophies. I went looking for information on trophies when I saw there were none for the DLC (which consequently I didn't purchase) and read that the head of the dev team at square didn't want to include trophies because he though they detracted from the experience of the game or something like that. When forced he just copied some in-game achievements but the one's they chose were just needlessly grindy. They're broad and deep, like I probably wouldn't develop all non-combat jobs in one run normally and then use them all 1000 times. So my overall score for the game might actually drop by the time I'm done grinding all jobs and the levequests and the fates (random heroic encounters that pop up quite frequently on the map) but right now I'm enjoying the main story. Popular Post DamagingRob
Final Review- Zone of the Enders I pretty much covered the story in the first post; not a lot to this one. So I'll just be covering the gameplay here. For the most part, it's pretty simple. Fly to an area, fight some enemies, and mission complete. But I'm finding it to be quite a bit of fun. Hard presents enough of a challenge that it's not too difficult, but not too easy. Eventually, I'm going to have some more boss fights, though. At that point, I could have a problem. Lol. Combat isn't too complicated, either. For the most part, I was just rushing enemies and meleeing them. Holding lets you do a more powerful dash attack if moving, or fire a massive ball of energy if you're not moving. I've had to start using the latter a bit more, as some of the enemies have learned some new attacks. Getting in close can get you killed. Trust me. :/ In between missions, a Rescue Mission can pop up. There are only 5 of these, and you need to get A ranks on all of them for a trophy. And A ranks on at least four out of five for an overall A rank at the end of the game, which is needed for another trophy. They can be a bit of a challenge, as you need to defeat all the enemies in the area without letting them destroy too much of the town/kill any survivors. And one in particular has damage from the first boss fight carry over. I had to replay that one many times, getting 10.7%-12.7% a lot, before finally having everything go right and finishing with 9.8% damage and an A rank. There was also one that you have to complete while infected with a virus, and can't take a single hit or you die.. But thankfully, the enemies were all Level 1 and there were not that many of them. So, it wasn't too bad. Nothing like the above mission. ^^' There was a mission where you got to play as one of the enemy robots, and sneakily infiltrate the enemy base. That was different, and required some getting used to how it operated compared to the one you'd been using the rest of the time. And there are a lot of subweapons you can obtain and use, but I haven't really found them to be that great. Plus, they require ammo. For those that want more or less of a challenge, there are 3 other difficulties. Easy, Normal, and Very Hard. Hard has only been any kind of struggle, because of attempting those A ranks, though. The difficulty itself isn't too bad, in my opinion. Graphically, it looks pretty nice. They did a good job remastering it. And I have no complaints on the sound. My only real complaint, I think, is that 2nd Rescue Mission. The damage should have been reset for that, instead of screwing the player over by having damage from a boss fight carry over. The other 4 weren't like that, so it seems weird for this one to be that way. But overall, I find this game to be really good, and am giving it a solid . And from what a friend tells me, the sequel is even better. So, I'd say this collection was a great purchase. Time played: Save file says 2:30, but I'd say it's more like 4-5 hours. Maybe even more. Anytime I'd have to retry a Rescue Mission or die, I'd quit to the Main Menu and load my save, skipping any cutscenes I'd already seen. Trophy progress: 12/25 for 44% and a B rank. Did it lower my completion? Slightly. A couple more Far Cry 2 trophies helped with that, though. Finally done with that grind, and can put all my focus into this. I was so burnt out from it, I ended up dozing off during the Bulls' game last night. :/
Popular Post Myu
Day 4 - Game 1 Ys : Memories of Celceta Time played : 16 hours Although the story is not the greatest out there, I'm still enjoying Ys : Memories of Celceta quite a bit. New characters have been added to the team and you do need to switch them frequently to use their unique skills. I've also collected a few artifacts that allow you to progress further through dungeons : the Dwarf Bracelet allows you to shrink and explore small places, the Hydra Scales allow you to dive and go underwater. You can even enhance them with gems. The game is well-balanced. You explore the forest, you get to a town or a village to progress through the story, followed by a dungeon to solve whatever problem the locals are having trouble with, you get a new team member and then you go back to exploring. The exploring part is my favorite tbh. We still don't know much about the main character, Adol, which makes sense since he lost his memory but we still don't know anything about Duren even when he's been part of the team since the beginning of the adventure. So far I think I've managed to get every chest that I encountered. I had to backtrack a few times to try to get some annoying ones, especially that one in the Tower where you only have a couple of seconds to do it. At one point, you get an artifact that gives you the ability to dash but that dash is not immediate and your character tends to go in random directions sometimes. I had to try again and again to dash while avoiding giant swinging clubs to get to the right place before the spikes went up again. I also locked myself out of two missables trophies. I guess I'll have to be extra careful in my 2nd playthrough. I'm not very comfortable with having 6 days for only 1 game, it feels very sluggish. Next time I'll definitely get 10 games on my list. @mking_63 Thank you for your review. FFXIV is on my Weeblympics list but I'm still sure if I want to keep it. The trophies look like they require a lot of effort. Can you tell me what the monthly fee is to play this game?

Metal Slime King
Everything I've read suggests that the 1000 levequests take the longest to complete. You get 3 allowances to do levequests every 12 hours, so thats 180 allowances per month (30 days). 1000 / 180 = 5.5 months, so I should be able to get the plat within 6 months. You can hold up to 100 allowances at once so I don't even have to log in daily. It's a chunk of time for sure but certainly not 3 years.

I've had my fill of MMORPGs with WoW, which was more than enough. Game #2 - First Impressions Well, I've spent about 4 hours on this so far and am enjoying it a lot. Whenever I spend several hours in one go on a game, it's usually a sign of it being right up my alley. It doesn't really have a lot to do with the Mafia II and is it's separate story, which albeit cliché as hell, is still great. This time the setting is in the 60s and focused on the "black mob", featuring cars from the era as well as the appropriate music (not as good as it was in the previous game, but still pretty alright). The gameplay is also a tad different, in that it reminds me more of Godfather II (the game), in which you took over territories from rival "families". That'll be it for now, more to come in a couple of days.

Popular Post DamagingRob
Starwhal- Day 1 This game has some very odd controls.. But the good news is, there are only a few buttons used, so it makes using Remote Play with it simple enough. I lack a 2nd PS4 controller, so that's usually how I obtain any 2 player trophies. You move your swordfish left or right with the analog stick, and press to go forward. That's pretty much the extent of the buttons used. Besides , I think? Which is used to taunt. Not sure if that's something useful in single player yet. There seems to just be Versus modes and sets of Challenges, so it's pretty bare bones. I completed all the Easy challenges with Platinum ranks, so far. I'm sure the Medium and Hard ones will be more difficult. But you pretty much try to guide your swordfish to the goal, or collect sets of hearts. The faster you are, the better your grade. Obstacles are placed in your way, though, and it can be hard to navigate since your swordfish controls like nothing I've ever seen before. It's very easy to get flipped around, or go careening off course. And the time limits were pretty strict on the Easy courses, requiring a lot of retries.. So yeah, this will not be an easy one to complete, if I'm even able to. Versus modes consist of trying to stab your opponent(s) with your swordfish in the heart, capturing and holding areas, or capturing and hanging onto hearts like the ones seen in challenges. I imagine they'd be fun for a laugh with friends, but that's about it. Unfortunately, there are some really grindy trophies attached to them, so I have to play a lot of matches in the different modes. :/ Other than that, there's not really much else to say. I liked the Challenges portion, up to this point. But that could change when dealing with the harder ones. Grinding the multiplayer is pretty boring, though. And I figured it probably would be, so I took a break from Challenges to do some of that, instead of doing it all at once. Time played: About 3 and a half hours. Trophy progress: 11/23 for 28% and an A rank.
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #2: Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (Day 1) I guess everyone here as at least heared about Tomb Raider and Lara Croft. The Tomb Raider series is an action adventure series in which you controll Lara on various expeditions to find all kind of ancient things. If this sound familiar to you it could be because of the Uncharted series, which must have gotten much inspiration from this series. This Tomb Raider is a reboot of the franchise and tells the developpment of Lara to who she is today. The game starts with an expedition to find the Yamatai, an island in the Dragon's Triangle near Japan. It's said that Himiko, called the "Sun Queen", ruled over Yamatai.. The Dragon's Triangle is known for his storms and so it was just a matter of time till our expedition ship is hit by one. We all land on an isolated island but Lara gets knocked out and kidnapped by a man. We manage to escape and try to find the others, what we eventually achieve. That's all for the story so far. The gameplay is like a standard third person action game. So far I have a bow and a pistol as weapons. The bow is sillent, which is importan when you need to stay hidden. The levels are semi open, which means you have an area you can freely explore but you can't go everywhere. In the first area I had to upgrade my handaxe to open a door. Speaking of upgrades, you can upgrade your weapons with scrap found all over the area and you can gain skills by earning XP for hunting animals or killing people. In each area are all kinds of collectible to find like documents or masks. There are also optional tombs to discover. The one and only I found so far wasn't really a tomb but more a crashside of a plane. I had to burn some things to lower the plane so I could reach a house up a cliff. There are campsides which are some kind of restpoint to upgrade your weapons and earn skill. From those campsides you can fast travell to get back to earlier areas to collect what you missed. This game also has a multiplayer mode which I haven't tested yet. I want to test it on the third day if it isn't dead. So far this game is good. The gameplay feels good and the graphics are good too. Time played: About 1 hour 30 minutes Trophies: 2/51 for 2%
Popular Post Kevvik
Game #2: MeiQ Day 1/Initial Impressions Time played: 4.5 hrs MeiQ is a dungeon crawling RPG where you begin as Estra, one of five Machina Mages summoned to the world capital to undergo a quest to restart the world after it stops (no, really). Apparently this happens every so often, plunging the world into darkness. You play a typically hot but naive heroine who sleeps in on the big day so others don't always believe she takes things seriously. The others seem likewise stereotypical of JRPG women; The hot but overly aggressive fire based type who acts more like your Pokemon rival from the early games and challenges you to a battle at the start of the first two dungeons thus far to prove she's tougher than you; The underage looking yet precocious and oblivious waif; The white haired, yet hot and busty, librarian type who seems to have a clue about everything that's going on with the excuse that "she did some reading" before coming on the mission; The also hot yet extremely shy and timid possibly dark mage who goes on the quest but really doesn't look like she wants to be involved. Anyways, you have to go look for stuff to help save the world by searching the four towers surrounding the capital. You are sent on this mission by the elder Mage, who transformed himself into a cat because he was apparently so good looking that no one would get any work done if he maintained his original form. So off dungeon crawling we go... You don't start with a party per se but with a mech guardian. Your guardian can fight for you or you can either attack, cast spells, use items, etc on your turn in combat. There are five attributes which are either strong or weak against each other. You fight through the dungeons, battling monsters and also other Guardians who after losing to you, engage in contracts to join you though you can only use one at a time. Later, other Machina Mages will join your party (I'm now at a party of 2) and you can let them use these guardians. You outfit your mechs with arms that give different combat abilities, bodies which affect stats and attributes and cores which can strengthen them. You can also equip yourself with seeds which boost attributes for you and your mech. The cores also allow for multiple attacks if you have the right cores/arms. There seems to be a bit of depth to combat but not a lot so far. That's pretty much where I'm to thus far. There also seems to be a Dark Machina Mage who wants to rule the world and a couple of thieves who are apparently so famous no one has heard of them who touch on the storyline. As a dungeon crawler, story is thin and crawling is king. There are multiple difficulty levels though I started on normal. The game looks good, the music isn't bad and the characters not too annoying thus far. Looking at the trophies, this is going to be a grindfest for the plat. Not bad so far but nothing exceptional. Trophies earned: 2/37, 2% for E rank Rating so far: 6.5/10 Edited November 5, 2017 by Kevvik
Popular Post Metal Slime King
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (Vita) I played the first two beginner courses and got the online requirements out of the way. Fundamentally I don't think the controls for Golf games have changed much since Leaderboard Golf on the Commodore 64. Look at the wind, pick an angle to shoot (ideally one that takes you closest to the hole) then there's a power gauge you try to hit at the optimal point. A lot has been improved after you hit the ball, the topography of the course, how the ball bounces and rolls. Then you're putting on the green and more concerned about the angle of the ground and the game has a decent way of communicating that to you. Good graphics with cartoonish characters, a fun golf game so far. Regarding the online requirements. To anyone who is interested in this game, the servers close shortly. I read something about requiring an online pass but I did not need any additional pass. I downloaded the game and one patch (1.0.9) and was able to get online and do the daily tournament with no further downloads. The only online trophy is for participating in the daily tournament, which for me today involved playing a full 18 hole Halloween themed course. ? Fortunately it's not like Hot Lap in Modnations Racers where you have to come at a certain percent on the leaderboard. You just have to complete the course.
Popular Post Jaguargenie
Game 2 Initial Impressions Off the bat, I'm going to say I love the souls games. I'm not a stranger to the genre. This is a 2d souls game clone. Cool concept. With that out of the way, I'm either really bad at this or haven't been able to get the used to the changes in combat. Rolling is a mechanic i haven't quite mastered yet and it seems like a very important combat component. Ditto for partying. I want to also touch on the art style. Everything is washed out and various shades of gray. Like looking at it through a dirty window. I'm not a fan and wish you could increase the color some. Only played for about 45 minutes but those are my first impressions. Completion %: -.87 that's after only two games but also includes the Frozen Wilds DLC that just posted too.
Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Game #2: Darksiders (Warmastered Edition) Final Review Total playtime: more than thirteen hours Trophies: 21/43 for a C rank God-Horseman Of War also Zelda and Portal been there and done that Spoiler I didn't have any time to gameon the PS4 yesterday so I decided to continue on Darksiders today, hoping to finish it. I noticed I'm the only one doing fifteen games so I'm going to be plowing through everybody else's neat three or six day schedule anyway, and I wanted to try to finish Darksiders so I wouldn't leave it unfinished, my plan became to make Downwell the next game - one of the games I was thinking about doing in one day to compensate for the days I can't game on - so I had an extra day of Darksiders. Sadly, I still haven't gotten through the game but I'll start on a new game tomorrow nontheless. Unfortunately, the game has gone on to test my patience. It's all very predictable, the game started to steal even more from other games to the point of actually daring to get a portal gun, for portal puzzles. The difference with the Portal games being that the puzzles in the Portal games had better physics and weren't boring. I'm sorry, but Darksiders is taking too much from other games. No harm in standing on the shoulders of better men but Darksiders can't seem to finish their thoughts on what makes a good game... While the game started out entertaining, it has now become a chore, and that is a great way to ruin my fun. Darksiders takes a lot from God Of War, but the combat in Darksiders is much less fun to play. Then they decide they want to be a bit different from God Of War, so they add dungeons like Zelda, but they add a lot of meaningless backtracking. They then try to make the dungeons desperately seem not like dungeons but regular set pieces, though they ruin it by still keeping the "totally not dungeon map and compas and generic keys" items from Zelda, totally making it a dungeon after all. It's very likely I will finish the game at some point, I will probably try to do so before starting the sequel later this event, but unless the sequel comes with more fun and an original thought or two, you won't see me going for the third game before it's in the bargain bin. I've never played a Zelda game and have a very limited experience with Portal so to me, it was all good fun. The lore and design was mostly what I enjoyed out of it though. When you play Gat Out of Hell, are you playing on PS4? If you are, can do some Co-op if you want?

Yeah games like these are probably more enjoyable when you haven't played what they're ripping off from. I enjoyed Dante's Inferno and Castlevania Lords Of Shadow, but probably wouldn't have if I had already played God Of War and Devil May Cry. Yeah I'm playing on PS4 (my whole list is PS4 this event) though I have no idea what my schedule will be. Last weekend is for Alienation with @MarkusT1992 and @vin_rob, weekend before that is when Battlefront II has just released and next weekend is probably little to no PS4 gaming for me as we'll have people over. I might do some time during work days but I have a very irregular schedule. What's your time zone? I'm in Holland so GMT+1 right now.
