Gordo132
I don't really buy any new consoles until I see reviews, game release titles or from what people are saying about it if they currently own the console. I only just bought another PS3 due to my Phat PS3 finally giving up on me, so I'll be more than likely staying on my PS3 and playing most of the games that I still need to finish off. RalfH89
Yeah was the same way when PS3 came out. Maybe eventually they will make it backward compatible. Who knows? Just like I still have a PS2 for some certain games, I will have a PS3.
lordfenton
I'll still use my PS3 for PS3 games and my PS4 for PS4 games. Same for PS 2 with PS 2 games and PS 1 that's the PS Vita mainly since I got an handful I wanted to play of PS 1 games on the PS Vita. So keep your systems handy maybe one day you get an PC, get an capture card and capture some good old games footage.
DJayKT
I have no issue with this because I just bought my ps3 slim a little over a year ago (nov 2011 to be exact). Still lots of games I have yet to play on the system. Another thing is I will be keeping this even if I buy the ps4 because I kept my fat ps2 till now . biotransformatio
I'm a collector,so ya know. I will move stuff around, so the PS3 and PS4 can be place side by side, since I most likely still will be playing PS3, even after PS4 have released.Just like I still play PS3 after Vita release. you need to say"Just like I still play PSP after Vita release"

WastelandSociety
Get your info right? The ps4 will play ps1 ps2 ps3 and well ps4 duh games!! You just have to download them! You will get ANY GAME FROM ANY MACHINE!! Its wonderful!!! ANY GAME !!!! Like most people in the world now you just have to download the game! yes you have to buy again so what!! Support sony! Sony didn't say anything about having to buy them again. I'm sure if you still have the game and recently still playing it or whatever that you can download through the "cloud", when it release on the ps4. As for me,I'm buying the ps4. grayyyyyyyyyyyyy
Might get it after the 1st price drop. I really wish the system was backwards compatible with games disks and controllers but as long as the trophies earned from the PS3 transfer over, I'll be happy. PPL who wish for Backward compatible ain't willing to pay the price, it would cost to get included (Most of them at less). Sony can't effort not let PS3 Trophies transfer over to PS4, since that would put them in a bad light, since Microsoft let Achievements transfer over and let's not forget the Vita... Artemisthemp
a bit annoyed and saddened, I mean I seriously DONT want to buy another PS3 to play PS3 games because my PS3 phat is getting old. I would rather just buy a PS4 even if it cost a bit more because it has PS3 compatibility than have to rebuy a PS3. I mean its a pretty smart move to make it not compatible with PS3 even though Im sure its possible if they made it possible. Im sure when PS4 comes out there will be plenty of good games still coming out for PS3. So those who dont have PS3 will have to buy one at 250-300$ to play those games and a PS4 400-500$? (maybe) for its games. Thats 650-800$ for admission to Sony gaming theme park, games extra.. PS3 most likely will fall in price, duo to PS4 release. DelicaGunz
Just like PSOne to PS2 to PS3 and now the PS4 you keep them until you are tired of playing them or go back when nostalgia hits. Edited March 6, 2013 by DelicaGunz
percy547389126yv
I will keep my PS3 system for my PS3 games. I will get the PS4 system for my PS4 games.
NERO1288
In my opinione since I just bought ps3 last year I just don't see a reason to buy ps4 I will waited to finish all my games and till the slim or the generations of ps4 come out. The first always have some bugs.also ill still keep buy games for the ps3.any way there a lot of old games that are classic and awsome.so ill keep my ps3 waited for the ps4 to get much better. PipeSwinger
I'm just going to keep playing and buying PS3 games. I find the PS3 near perfect. I love everything about it. I find it pathetic that PS3 games won't play on the PS4. My only concern is the games coming out after the PS4 release. I hope they will be available for the PS3 as well. ONUOsFan
Well, here's what I'm thinking now. If the PS4 is $400+, not including games, extra controllers, etc, you're going to be looking at probably a $600+ entry price (figure two games and one extra controller). If there are only a couple of launch games I'm interested in I won't be paying that price right away. The rate I'm going I'll still have a pretty hefty backlog by Christmas and there are some PS3 games that are either already out or coming out this year that I still want to play, and they won't be on the PS4. At this point I'm anticipating getting a PS4 sometime in the second half of next year. That being said... I can't guarantee that I won't get the fever when it's actually out and buy it anyway, especially if I can manage to save up some gift cards beforehand. I feel exactly the same, im going to try and resist getting the ps4 till late next year, to give me plenty of time to work on my back catalogue...but i often change my mind closer to launch day. YJSaints
So now that we all know about the PS4 not playing our PS3 games, what are you going to do now? What i mean is, i feel like that any game that comes out between now and the PS4 release is kind of not worth it and a waste of money because the PS4 can't play it anyway when it comes out. I know all you guys will say ''You just keep your PS3'', true but when the PS4 is out it is more likely that you will be on that instead of the PS3 anyway. So i just wanted to know what all you guys are going to do because this is the way i feel at least anyway about the situation with the PS4 not playing PS3 games. Well, I'm going to keep buying ps3 even after the ps4 comes. I don't really know any games I'm interested in the ps4 yet, but when I do I'll keep the ps3 in my room and the ps4 in the living room. I'll mostly get some kid games to distract my little sisters... That's the real reason I want to get one, beside the environmental gameplay hologram, though I haven't had or seen an offical confirm. XxTerminator
Nothing is changing for me, I will get the ps4 when I have 199 platinums, that way, I will have played every ps3 game I want to play so I won't need it anymore. Well damn that's a lot of gaming & time on your hands. Just be sure you choose your games wisely & that your sure you'll enjoy them.
Christopher
If this actually ends up being the case, I'll get through my backlog slowly but surely
TheDarkyos
I'm just gonna keep my PS3 and play on PC while I wait until the PS4 gets a revision/price drop which it'll most likely will.
walkingwestern
I will play my PS3 until late next year, when I get a PS4. There is bound to be issues, and Thief doesn't launch until next year anyhow, so I just don't see the need to get a PS4 at launch. I will keep my PS3 in case I want to play PS3 games. PoppyJiva
There doesn't have to be a ps4 we can just keep our ps3. Also, I think sony is making the ps4 to get money.

There didn't need to be a PS2 or PS3 either, we could've just kept our original PlayStation systems. Of course Sony is making the PS4 to make money, how else would they be a gaming company? Tomato
I am pretty sure they will have some ps3 games to download at the store so I don't see any issue unless you own a massive amount of games or looking for a tittle which is not well known, also most titles I see anyways are being released for both platforms to begin with. Personally I can't wait for a new console don't get me wrong I love the ps3 but my hands have been itching for something new for a while now.
