balotelli_boy45
Is there a way to charge a PS Vita off a PS4 with a different wire other then the normal charger because mine is broke and I can't get around to buying a new wire at the moment
EternalChaos72
Well since the PS4 charger doesn't fit with the Vita, i don't think you can use anything else except for the Vita charger. Amazon are selling the chargers for £2.50 brand new. Edited November 12, 2017 by EternalChaos72
balotelli_boy45
I know you could connect the Vita to a PS3 but I'm not sure if that charged it
DuckSwimmer
Do you have the 1000 or 2000 model vita? I believe the 2000 model, the slim model, vita has a micro-usb charging port if I'm not mistaken which is the same port for PS4 controllers. If you have the 1000 model, the original bulky one, you need that specific wire.
Mohd_AAAA
Are you talking about the original (OLED) vita or the new model? The original vita uses a proprietary cable, so you need that for charging it. The new (slim) model uses a normal micro USB cable so any micro USB can charge it. I use my Nexus 7 charger and cable to charge my vita. Edit: And yes. You can charge the vita off a PS4 but the vita has to be switched off (the orange light on top will be on, indicating that it's charging). Great_MazingerZ
One more thing, my vita roughly lasts for an hour + then it starts to tell me it needs to be recharged, is the battery is broken or something or all the vitas are like that ? Hi friend, my brother's vita did the same a while back. The battery is fine but the battery gauge isn't calibrated that's why. Drain the power completely off your vita by using it until it shuts off then charge it fully. That should solve the problem. TazDevilz1986
It is recommended to use the original charger for the PS Vita because other chargers might kill your Vita.

My original vita was stolen, but I recall leaving it plugged in for periods of time and it didn't charge. I'd imagine the same is true for ps4. Drag-On-Detritus
I had issues with exposed wires on my Vita 1000 charger, got a 3rd party one that did the same damn thing. Picked up this micro usb adapter a while ago for about $6. Works with a phone charger: Only problem is I dunno where they're still available, amiami where I got it from is sold out but they don't keep a ton of stock of anything much around. If you can find the adapter it's a pretty good way to go.

Gonna try to look around. edit: OK so i can not find that vita 1000 sweet charger unfortunately. And most every simple 1.1m data cables are ship from china. I dont mind china products cause...heck im sure there is even 50%+ parts in our ps4 that is made in china. But anyways i hate the shipping time...:( Edited November 19, 2017 by ERGOPROXY-DECAY
