Help me understand Why some Trophy Hunters feel its fine to marginalise players with alot of Plats

So in the wake of @Hvalpen thread arguing about us " spam hunters " which was allowed free run I now pose the question why do such hunters feel so intimidated by a group of hunters they associate as "spam hunters " (name acknowledgement to @AlphaTrash - sorry Sir I appropriated for my new title ☺️ ). Please discuss freely, but stay focused, I concede you see us a spam hunters so no need to argue our lack of merits in your eyes, rather explain why you deem it so necessary to be so vocal in our degradation of your own trophy hunting experience that it warrants the treatment you serve

Nothing wrong with a few easy games here and there after completing a hard game, I can understand and relate to that. (My account is garbage thanks to that very way of behaving m8).

When you have hundreds of plats, thousands of commons and 50 URs, your account is just spam at that point. 

We should call those guys Spam Hunters going forward.

Maybe I should a thread about why trophy hunters care about other trophy hunters  Anyway, folks who have a lot of platinum trophies usually don't have trophies most would call challenging.  It doesn't matter to me, though.  Just don't get caught being a bum (being legitimately flagged).  That's all.

Denied, you are arguing a mute point, I already concede you have no time for us. Now explain how we are degrading your experience enough that it warrants you calling us out. And if you imply I or others like me cheat I find that a long bow to draw. In your own words " you should be ashamed "

I couldn’t care less about another person’s trophy collection tbh, I just care how they behave towards me if I come across them in a boosting session. So ‘spam’ away as long as you’re polite whilst doing it ?

People need to stop whining about other people. Giving an opinion is fine. I don't like to "hunt spam" myself, but if someone else wants to, that's up to them. We don't need a crowd with pitchforks and torches to go after people for performing their hobby the way they like it. There are worse problems in the world.

 

And if you're so set on that leaderbord position, you will need to get the time and resources to get there. That includes buying tons of 'spam' and hunt it.

Everyone can do what they like really, what they play doesn't concern you at the end of the day.. Everyone enjoys different things when it comes to trophies. At the end of the day if you're nice to me then i'll be nice back.. simple as that.

I got some easy ones and I got some hard ones.

 

I enjoyed some more than others, and I was challenged more with some than others.

 

The fact the Prey was a fairly easy plat doesn’t stop it being my favourite game in a decade, and the fact that Sniper Ghost Warrior was a very long slog to get an ultra rare plat didn’t make me like it any more than I would have anyway.

 

I don’t think the fact that I like Artifex Mundi games means I have somehow debased my Syndicate platinum, any more than getting the Trine 2: Complete Edition plat makes my Walking Dead platinum any more or less respectable.

There are a lot of micro and macro-games in the trophy hunting field. There’s the big-ass numbers game, theres the completionist game, theres the rarity game and the respectability game -  but in the end, it’s all just a tapestry of what you enjoy and feel like doing at any particular time. We’ve all been at this a long time now. Sometimes I want that hard-ass challenge, other times I just want to relax and let Telltale, well, tell me a tale.

 

Game how you want to game, list what you want to list and feel however you want to feel about your own achievements and those of others - just don’t for one second think that your own opinion means more than anyone elses.

Therein madness lies.

I’m starting to feel convinced these types of threads are calendar set or something. Personally, I don’t care how bad a profile may look. I’ll be impressed at ones I find impressive, if I don’t find anything impressive then I click off. Either way, it doesn’t change how I feel about the person. My profile is a mix, sometimes I just need a break from the hard stuff. Doesn’t always end up that way though, I like to challenge myself more than often.

Welp, this thread took off like a rocket.  I've got no problem with someone that wants as many platinum trophies as they can possibly get.  I go about it a certain way (time is the biggest enemy), but I don't expect everyone to be like me.  As long as they weren't achieved by hacking or earned by multiple players, I think a gamer that has 100 "easy" plats is just as respectable as one that has 20 "hard" ones.  Hell, I even platted GoT on both consoles (PS4 was free), myself.

When did I call anyone out?  I've said several times I don't care what folks play.  You should feel the same, too....

The problem is there are way too many easy games that take less than 5 hours to platnium.It's pretty easy to get 100 platniums in 6 months without trying too hard.

Elitism in trophy hunting!? That's hilarious  @CjShai don't worry about these folks. In any society/community there will be people who try and deem themselves as better and attempt to put down those who are not in the same group as them, human nature like.  At the end of the day trophy hunting is a hobby, just like playing games. If someone gets shirty because you do it differently from them just ignore them. If that's how you choose to play that's your choice, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
