Popular Post SirPigFace
its about time people called out companies for micro transactions. EA are the worst for it. They pretty much force people into buying packs and other rubbish to be on a level playing field with everyone else. Games like FIFA need to be next. You literally stand no chance if you don't buy any packs. Game developers these days release half finished games then they are already working on new DLCs to rob people of their money.
Popular Post You
EA not only holds the record for worst company in the world for several years running, they also have the most downvoted comment on reddit (defending microtransactions on this game) 680,000 down votes. https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/7cff0b/seriously_i_paid_80_to_have_vader_locked/dppum98/?sh=5c173a70&st=J9XRL8E2 and at this rate, lowest user review score for a game ever on metacritic. I won't be buying this game but I have to agree, it sucks having to play for over 30 hours just to unlock one hero. MIcrotransactions or more importantly loot boxes via gambling. It's really starting to ruin games, the whole system is built AROUND lootboxes. Personally I'm never buying a game that requires you to pay microtransactions in order to win. If they're there and I don't need to buy them then fine. But otherwise, screw this practice. I'll just buy games that don't have them in. Simple as that. Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Yeah, I saw that. People are much more pissed than I thought they would be. It's out of 10, by the way. On Metacritic, critic reviews are on a scale of 100 but user reviews are on 10. For games, at least. With the microtransactions in general (like recently with Shadow Of War), I usually say boycotting a game with microtransactions is not helping your cause because then only gamers who buy microtransactions get the game and the stats tell the dev that microtransactions are much more popular than they really are. If you're against microtransactions, you should still buy the game you want to play and not pay for microtransactions. I'm still buying Assassin's Creed games day one and I just never pay for microtransactions. With that in mind, I was set on buying Battlefront II day one. I was going to play the solo campaign, then sell the game on to someone who wants to play the multiplayer. However, I'm seeing very mixed responses on the story campaign as well. I don't mind if it's only 5-7 hours long but I do mind the story being bad and not having many starship battles, which is what I care for. At this point, I think it might be wiser to cancel my pre-order, and buy the game a year from now for €10 when there's more story DLC.

They actually put all of the main characters behind a paywall. If you don't pay, it takes between 20 and 40 hours to unlock EACH character. I think it's Vader and Skywalker that take 40 hours of grinding each. EA has also put a cool down periodnon earning the credits needed to buy the characters with that in-game currency. I saw a screen shot where it said, "sorry, please wait 14 hours to try again". Also, the MP is pay to win. The lootboxes people buy have op gear in them that can be used in MP games. Also, there's already videos of the campaign being balls short. It's something like between 4 and 6 hours to get through it without speed running. These are not trolls on metacritic people. This score is well earned by EA. I hope this game flops on its ass. Fuck EA for ruining a great game franchise. Just boot up the real Battlefront 2.

You
I have fond memories of Tekken 2, unlocking all the hidden characters and costumes just by playing the game. I still think back to Resident Evil 5, my first PS3 game with trophies (as I'm going through it again now on PS4), and when the DLC came out, we had two new chapter, it was almost like getting a new game. I loved DLC back then, literal expansions of games when you thought there was nothing more to see. The situation in 2017 is just depressing..
Deluziion90
Atleast I know what I'm not buying as a Star wars fan. Why can't they just take an example from Overwatch if they want extra money from microtransactions. Anyways well deserved score every game which is pay2win should just burn. I feel sorry for dice as I think the game looks beautiful though ?
Popular Post bezdomnekoty
Micro transactions to buy avatar/weapon skins are alright like in rainbow six siege. But when you pay to be stronger in a multiplayer game that's a path of a n00b. YODA would be sad cause skill should be in your hands not in your wallet.
Meacham
I’m glad, I feel sorry for DICE but as per usual EA need taken down a peg or two. If this is the way to get the message across I’m really glad.

Hopefully more devs take the route Ninja Theory has and publish their own projects. Companies like EA are not only worthless, they're a detriment to the gaming industry. Hamzeh_Yz
if you want to unlock everything u need to play the game for 4528 hours or spend 2100 dollars ? . its why ppl hate ea and this game . ea open a new door of capitalism into gaming industry i hope next battlefields survive from this shit . Popular Post Paleblood
The sad thing about this is y'all saying you won't be buying the game to vote with your wallet. Which is completely fine and the right thing to do. But the ones paying the price will be DICE. As they will get closed if their games aren't selling well anymore. Of course it's EA trying to force pay2win down everyboy's throat not DICE, but that didn't stop EA from closing Visceral soooo... Thats the EA way of handling things. I won't buy any EA products anymore until they stop punishing developers for their mistakes and shady business practices. This fucking bullshit has to stop.
Potent_Delusions
The game looks formidable however it has been diseased by microtransactions courtesy of EA. EA have struck again and done what they do best: dissatisfy their customers the best they can . Without EA this would have been something great however it's not. I hope the game falls flat on its ass just as a fuck you to EA. Sincerest condolences to DICE for getting involved with EA. AtroxBR
They scored 75. User reviews in this case are useless. 99% of them are talking about microtransactions, so they probably didn't even play the game.
Popular Post You
I hate people who justify this sort of practice or say it doesn't matter. Sure you CAN play without the microtransactions. What happens in BattleFront 3 when it's even worse. As Jim Sterling said just recently, you might be fine with this practice now, but wait until they come for your favourite game. I'm still thankful that my favourite game genres, the Yakuza series and Dynasty Warriors series are still ok. But even then, both of those now have microtransactions, I fear it's not too long before game breaking lootboxes or DLC invade those games. Take a look at this game Taiko Tatsujin on PS4 release this month. https://www.amazon.co.jp/バンダイナムコエンターテインメント-【PS4】太鼓の達人-セッションでドドンがドン/dp/B07421LJ2F That game has over half the game's songs locked behind Day 1 DLC, the customer reviews and overwhelming amount of 1 and 2 stars all complain that the best tracks aren't in the base game. This is affecting all games, even in Japan. Edited November 16, 2017 by enaysoft

You
> Almost every (online) game has microtransactions these days, it's different from lootboxes... Those games are usually free to play. Lootboxes, locked away content on DLC, it's all the same. In BattleFront 2, the content is locked away, and it's even worse, you can't just buy it outright through DLC, but gambling your money away in lootboxes hoping for cards and more points to unlock them. Elvick_
This is why reviews are stupid and meaningless. I bet half of these don't even own the game and never intended to, and are just participating in the meme to hate on the game. Much like downvoting that CoD trailer.
