Dr_Shaneman
I noticed on the Steam page for Mania it says they're working on removing the DRM so it can be played offline. Are they only going to do that for the Steam version? My net isn't the most stable in the world in it's annoying that I can't play the game when it acts up. Also, I've seen some Steam users say they can use the extras on save slots and not just the 'no save'. Is this true?
Shadiochao
It's possible to play it offline now, it was a bug that was fixed shortly after release. It only affected the Steam version.
Dr_Shaneman
My game still shows a lock icon next to it until the PS4 establishes an internet connection.
Shadiochao
That's likely because the account that bought the game doesn't have that PS4 set as its primary console
Dr_Shaneman
Huh... weird. I've only ever made one account on it. I'll look into that later.
Oobedoob S Benubi
You might have one account, but you might not have it as your primary console. Also yeah DRM was only a thing on Steam, I have the game on the Switch since it's been out for a week or so and I never had problems with going offline. Soufwar
You dont need DRM on consoles because console makers already close their platform tightly to hackers and only after years does a console get cracked and its games homebrewed and all, by then games will have made their profits and everyone has moved on and only a small portion of people will want play old gen games and even a smaller sad portion will pirate them, to answer your question, Sonic Mania doesn’t have any sort DRM on PS4, Switch and Xbox One. DRM is only on Steam!
Dr_Shaneman
I sorted it now. Thanks.
