Jelly Soup
Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders Another PSNow game off the list. Not terrible. I've played other version of this exact story. This one has several leaps in logic built into it, but overall nice. Some of the controls are a bit muddy and Poirot doesn't move exactly as I think he would, stumbling into objects and turning like the game was designed with tank controls in mind. Soft recommend, particularly so if the story is new to you.

I feel like many of the puzzles are unreasonable in what they expect the player to figure out. At least one puzzle required the use of a block that is only technically visible from a certain point and only just. Many more require knowing the order of a color gate before starting, without giving a way to do that. Additionally, I really feel like the hotel motif is underused. Yes, it's at least 45% of the total space of the game, but almost all of it just hallway porn. Not an overall bad game, but it could have been better. really enjoyed this game, I liked the concept of waking up in the hotel everyday and it being slightly different, was pretty cool I played a game recently called the suicide of rachel foster that had the same concept

With two controllers you're controlling two players at once and for what the game throws at you I don't see how you managed the later sections of SonSon. Enemies are however predictable, you can get a lot of enemies to move past the screen if you stick to the top left. The bees can be a nuisance as are the bugs that home in on you. I must of been half asleep when I used "arguably" there. The simplest solution would be to just learn the game. This is true for 99% of games made before 1998. If you happen to be some kind of ambidextrous god or just have access to any mortal human, two controllers is an option, though.

There was a specific trophy in the R-Type Collection that also traumatized me about playing with 2 simultaneous controllers. In short: if you can avoid this stress, avoid it. Popular Post AJ_Radio
RESOGUN (PS4) This one took me over four years to finally complete. For quite a while I never thought I was going to get all the trophies, particularly because of the rank up trophies which would of had you doing some truly insane requirements. I may be quite good at some stuff, but the hardest Resogun challenges aren't one of them. After I 100 percented Red Dead Redemption I was looking at other games to finish off. Assassin's Creed Revelations on the PS3 was next on my list, and after that it was either going to be Resogun or Shovel Knight. I picked Resogun, after a very friendly person offered me help for getting the Rank 50 trophy even though he already had it himself. So it was a matter of doing the same challenge over and over since you can gain all the points you want in co-op. He basically just idled while I did all the work, so it was a win-win. I did what I wanted for 10 Gold Medals in the challenges, obtained 100 Feats, did NAVDML (beat the last level in Arcade on Veteran difficulty with every ship stat set to zero), even did the local co-op trophy with two PS4 controllers by myself. But nothing compares to beating Commando Mode on your own. As I said on another thread, the Rank 50 trophy is single handedly the hardest trophy if you were to do it yourself, but that is literally almost impossible so I just said screw it and had my friend help out. While NAVDML, the Gold Medals, and local co-op trophies took me no more than a couple days of trying each, Commando Mode I was stuck on a solid 10 days. It is brutally hard. If you are doing it solo it is very hard to keep everything from damaging your house. I had to practically relearn everything I learned throughout Resogun, including what enemies to prioritize on first. It's over 20 minutes of doing it on your own, but I imagine in co-op the time it takes to finally reach the UFO at the end is much shorter. In the end, the hard work and time I put into this game finally paid off. I left Resogun untouched for four years, but my decision to get every trophy in Red Dead Redemption convinced me to look at other games I had long left sitting on my profile unfinished. After this, Shovel Knight will be next on my list of challenges, as I need to do multiple playthroughs with Plague Knight, Specter Knight and King Knight respectively. But for now, I'm content with getting Resogun to 100 percent. Not an easy accomplishment, especially with what I ended up doing. Definitely a respectable 100 percent.
whodeygamer
Sonic the Fighters I decided to get the 3 month subscription for PS Now at pretty much the last minute during Days of Play since it was at a 20% discount. Before I went and tried playing a bigger PS3 game, I wanted to see how streaming would go with this game since the trophy list was extremely easy. After the 30 minutes I spent with this game, I don't think I'll bother with the streaming portion anymore. Thankfully there's enough downloadable ps4 games on the service to where the money I spent will be more than worth it.
rjkclarke
A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV This is another one of those games that I really regret sleeping on. The reason I did was because Final Fantasy XV is pretty low down in my personal list of Final Fantasy titles - I'm not saying its a bad game by any stretch (in fact its very good) I'm just not particularly fond of it. So I kind of assumed because its associated with that, I probably wouldn't have a very enjoyable experience with it. How wrong was I though? This game is awesome for what is, the game doesn't once outstay its welcome. I'd usually put a thing in here about not telling people how to spend their money, but this is free (at least it was, and probably still is) so you wouldn't have anything to lose by at least trying it - well apart from a bit of completion percentage if you decided you didn't like it I suppose. A King's Tale has such a charming art- style. The amazingly crafted 2D Pixel art felt really reminiscent of the conversational transitions found in the first two Monkey Island games. They are obviously reminiscent of other older entries in the Final Fantasy series, but I never miss a chance to reference Monkey Island. One of the things I really like, is how the aesthetic manages to expertly balance the new and the old. Whilst the 2D art feels very nostalgic, the actual character designs themselves are incredibly faithful to the art design found within Final Fantasy XV. I expect this is something that would have much more resonance with someone who has a deeper fondness for the Final Fantasy XV universe than myself - and who, would really love another adventure set within that universe. I do quite like the small bits of expansion this game does to some of the characters you meet in Final Fantasy XV, it was nice to have some extra depth added there. Nevertheless, I can still appreciate the effort that went into crafting this - just like the art style, the soundtrack found within A King's Tale is very reminiscent of older entries in the series but also feels very fresh. When going for the Dream Battle Challenges, you end up hearing a lot of the soundtrack - so for it to never feel repetitive, despite there being a limited number of tracks was quite the achievement. I want to dedicate a small bit of focus to how well made the sound effects are, I really love the deliberate distortion on select things: swords, magic and monsters for example - have such distinctive sounds and the extra bit of warping on the sound really helps build the atmosphere of playing something older despite being fairly recent. A small but very Important bit of attention to detail. The gameplay found within A King's Tale; like almost every other aspect of it, is harkening back to older titles like Double Dragon, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe. If you enjoy those sorts of titles and are a huge Final Fantasy fan, then you are almost certainly going to love this. The combat might not seem like much on the surface, but it actually has a tremendous amount of depth to it, that you only really start to notice once you start attempting the Dream Battles. Magic, is incredibly fun to use in this game. Ironically I think I used magic more in this game than I ever did whilst playing through Final Fantasy XV - magic does end up being really useful for controlling the flow of battle though, so it really helps for the challenges where you can't take damage. There isn't a whole lot to speak about when it comes to the games trophies - you'll essentially play the story, perform some miscellaneous tasks that can be a little finicky sometimes, then spend the rest of your time playing the Dream Battles. Which is probably where I had the most fun actually, as it really requires you to think about what you can truly do with the games combat mechanics. A King's Tale has gorgeous trophy tiles though, I'm a bit of a sucker for a nice looking trophy tile, so to have 13 trophies that contain the same beautifully crafted Pixel Art as the game itself, is nothing short of awesome. I'd definitely recommend this one, its quite short too - my completion time ended up being around 16 hours, but realistically it was much shorter, as that was done over two separate play sessions. I don't really see much to be negative about in a game that both costs nothing and doesn't eat too much into your free time. It might seem like I'm being overly positive about this game, but there really aren't that many negatives that are worth discussing; they are all so minor, you end up just forgetting about them.
