Outfits and Armor...

Has anyone played through the entire game using the Hunter outfit found in the Sewers?

 

I realize that every outfit is supposed to be balanced but I would like to have a few outfits for given situations. So far I haven't come across too many outfits that warrant changing into them for a good bonus.

I don’t know how much of a difference the different outfits made but I generally went with whatever looked the coolest as I collected them.

 

Without jumping backing into the game to check, looking at the various outfits I’m fairly certain I used the Hunter set you’ve mentioned that is found in the sewers for most of the game.

[Leaderboards]

Fashion-Borne for the most part but here is some helpful information:

 

Ashen Hunter Set: Has the highest Frenzy resist among all attires, minus the headpiece, which is surpassed by Beak Mask from the Crowfeather Set.

 

The Choir Set: Has the highest Arcane defense in the game.

 

Knight's Set: When all armor pieces are equipped, it has the highest Blood defense out of all the armor sets.

 

White Church Set: This set has the highest slow poison resistance.

 

Henryk's Hunter Set: Has the highest total bolt resistance of any set in the game, minus the headpiece, which is surpassed by Gold Ardeo from the Executioner Set.

 

Cainhurst Set: This armor set features very high Physical Defense but is poor against Blunt and Elemental/Status damage types.

Only time it's really useful to change outfits is near the Winter Lanterns if you have a lot of Insight stocked up. Can help slow the frenzy build up. Besides that it's negligible throughout.

My second playthrough was with that armor and it didn't make much of a difference  as stated above, only when facing frenzy should you wear a specific armor
