Popular Post Parker
Quote Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR sales have reached another milestone. PlayStation 4 has now sold more than 70.6 million units worldwide through to customers as of December 3, 2017, while the PlayStation VR has surpassed two million units sold worldwide. More than 617.8 million copies of PS4 games and over 12.2. million units of PSVR titles have been sold as of December 3 as well. This includes both retail and digital sales. "I cannot thank our fans and partners enough," Andrew House said, Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO. "Their support, since the launch of very first PlayStation in 1994, has helped to make PlayStation one of the biggest console gaming networks in the world." PSVR Sales Are 'On Track,' According to Sony share 0:46 Earlier this year in June, Sony revealed PS4 exceeded 60 million units sold worldwide while more than 487.8 million copies of PS4 were sold at the time. Sony also gave an update on PSVR sales in June as well, confirming the VR headset sold surpassed one million units sold worldwide with over five million PSVR games sold as well. 1 Source: IGN Sony has hit yet another milestone with the PS4, 70 million units sold. Over 2 million PSVR units is quite an accomplishment as well and I believe makes it one of the most successful VR headsets too. Right now the PS4 is about 13 million units behind the lifetime PS3 sales and I can't imagine it will take too terribly long to make up that difference. It will be really amazing if the PS4 can outsell the original PlayStation (102 million) but I can't see it making up the ground to the PS2 which sits at over 155 million. Great job Sony, keep up the momentum and as long as the great exclusives keep coming, the sales will keep climbing. Undead Wolf
Sony have done great this generation. Lots of great exclusives and even more in the pipeline. A very well deserved milestone! I'm positive PS4's lifetime sales will exceed PS3's before the end of this generation, and I think it's in with a chance of matching PS1's as well. Not bad for a console generation that so-called "experts" were predicting to be the last one. PSVR is doing surprisingly well too. I still see no good reason to own one of those things, but at least the people who do have one don't have to worry about Sony abandoning it anytime soon. Chingon_Player
The best generations are when SONY is the sales leader, can't wait for NiNo Kuni 2 and Detroit in 2018

The Vita sold 4 million in the first year look where it is. Anyone who thinks that Sony is a company to be trusted should take a hard look at its history. PS4 is king of the moment mainly because its only competitor is dumber than a turd. Nintendo is on a completely different league, one that Sony will never understand or scratch. Eraezr
I really wish PS+ was not a thing. 70 mil+ gamers, it would be nice to see more of them absorbed into the online multiplayer pools for games like KoF XIV, GG Xrd Rev and Titanfall 2.
