Zolkovo
Hi all, I've been contemplating making this post for a while so here goes! Without going into too many details, about 6 weeks ago I found myself in an unfortunate accident which has resulted in me being bed ridden for the foreseeable future. So instead of succumbing to depression and the like, I decided to take on a fairly crazy project to take my mind off things. The goal is to hit 50+ platinums with very specific milestone and level up trophies, while maintaining a 100% completion rate (eventually). This is proving to be more challenging than I expected with my recent 500th and level 10 trophies almost clashing! I'm also trying to avoid any ridiculously easy indies or downright awful games just for the sake of trophies. Now I would love to ask this awesome community for some suggestions for future level trophies and milestones such as 3000, 3500 etc. that fall in line with the theme I have going (if you can spot it). I've edited this post with the link to a more up-to-date thread about this project: Edited February 7, 2018 by Zolkovo
Lorajet
Well, hope you are on the mend due to your accident. ☺️ Quite an ambitious undertaking, but certainly doable. Spreadsheets look good. So, do you already own all of the games listed? Are you leaning more toward PS4 than PS3 games? First thing I'd do is to be sure you can get the platinum for all the games you wish to play. Such as server shutdowns, glitches, and just plain irritating problems that prevent you from your goal would be a PITA. I was going to suggest GTA5, but with the "Run like the Wind" unobtainable, that would prevent 100%. Some of the games take quite a while on your list. Be sure there are boosting sessions for any of the MP trophies you need. Hate to show up at the party and be the only one there.
Beyondthegrave07
Watch out for those online DLC trophies like uncharted 3. Those could be rough.

Thanks mate, the sheer amount of painkillers keeps me awake more than I'd like but at least that's more time to put towards the goal. Yes I own all the ones listed, and have a separate tab for the games on my radar that I'm waiting out for a sale. I'd like to focus more on the PS4, as I still have my launch model PS3 and I'm hoping against all odds it survives the first half of the plan! I own about 15 or so other games that I've not listed for the very reason you mentioned; unobtainable plats due to server closure (mostly EA titles). I have also prioritised the games with online portions, playing them out of order if necessary i.e. I've already completed the online segments for KZ2, GTA IV, Max Payne 3 which were fairly painful, but this won't affect the plat order/milestones etc. Thankfully I don't have a huge amount of games on the list that require online servers. I actually own Burnout Paradise with all the DLC and as much as I loved the game, I fear it'd a pain in the arse finding 8 people almost a decade after the game's initial release! 2 minutes ago, Beyondthegrave07 said: Watch out for those online DLC trophies like uncharted 3. Beyondthegrave07
I see you are trying to have pretty catchy names for your milestones. I thought I could help in this department if you are still looking for games: FFVII - A Feat of Meteoric Proportions - Beat the game. OKAMI HD - Top Dog - Earn all trophies Yooka and Laylee - What's a Leaderboard? - Earn a high score in the arcade Also, Metal gear Revengance has a cool trophy name called "What doesn't kill you..." which I think would make a pretty clever name for a trophy level. Uncharted 4 has a trophy called "On Porpoise" (play on the words of purpose) which would be pretty fitting for what you are doing! You could also look into GTA 3 which has trophies such as "Like a Boss" and "Hunting Season" which could work for some of yours as well.

Big fan of the FF series, and the PS1 titles have a huge nostalgia factor for me. Thanks, will definitely be using the FF7 suggestion! I was always hoping the remaster would be out by now, but that seems less and less likely as the years go by to be anytime soon. I like the Revengeance idea as well, although I'm trying to avoid the same game appearing more than once anywhere since I have it planned for plat #20. Same goes for UC4, as I'm using Unstoppable! for one of the milestones. I thought about using Like a Boss for 5000 trophies because of the trophy image but that's such a long way away, not sure I'd be able to hold out that long or even get there. Anyway, thanks a lot for the brilliant suggestions - I'm going to look into Okami & Yooka and Laylee since I haven't heard of those games before. Sicho
Paladins Platinum Trophy is named "Champion of Champions" which I suppose would somehow fit your theme? It's a free game so you could start right away. The plat is not easy to get however. oh and I know it's PS3 but Asura's Wrath has some nice trophy names and imageshttps://psnprofiles.com/trophies/1275-asuras-wrath

Sicho
I don't own it myself but I played it at a friend's once. It's completely bonkers haha but definitely a good game, although probably not for everyone. IIRC there is a demo on PSN.
Platagonist
@Zolkovo First of all, I wish you all the best to recover and I really hope that you'll be able to get back to the 'normal' life soon. I have quite a few health issues that are making my life sort of miserable, so I think I understand what you are currently battling with. We have a lot in common, I too have recently started playing and both of us seem to be part of the OCD master race. ? My spreadsheets are not as thought out as yours, but I've already spent much more time 'preparing the challenge' than actually playing. For example today I've been working on my Trophy Checklist for about two hours! I am extremely impressed with your progress so far, especially with your trophies per day ratio (how many hours/day do you manage to play on average?) and that you are not afraid to tackle some extremely hard games - I am planning to start 'fighting' with the online portion of KZ2 pretty soon and GTA IV is on my radar as well (I might bother you about your Key to the City spreadsheets later ). As for Asura's Wrath, I deliberately chose 'Anger Management' as my first ever trophy, considering that I will for sure rage as hell during my planned challenge. ? I've already played the game in 2016, but I only finished it once - in order to get the plat, you need to do like 4 play throughs, so the game gets extremely repetitive/boring soon. ? So I am not sure if it's worth playing just for it's trophy names, I will see how long it will stay unfinished on my profile. I apologize for my (sort of) bad English - except of these long-ass PSNP posts I have not really practiced it for a few years... Zolkovo
@Platagonist Salutations! Thank you very much for your concern, and it's quite refreshing to meet someone else in the same boat (in more than one way too). Unfortunately I'm still out of action for another 3-4 months at least according to my physio so nothing more I can do other than keep my mind as active as possible. I do hope your health issues are something you can recover from. If you'd like I'd be more than happy to lend a ear either via PM or discord. Ah yes, I myself am certainly on the more extreme side of OCD haha. My spreadsheets are extremely detailed and I always end up devising my own custom roadmap for each and every game with external links to useful resources (especially when it comes to collectables and higher difficulty runs). I actually have a much more up to date overall spreadsheet if you're interested, I'd be more than happy to share and explore new ideas: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GqpGc_YVwi7L2sDA_enNBolhR7-eRwcjZyuc1oyTMwE/edit?usp=sharing Thanks to the medication I'm on, I can only sleep around 3-5 hours a day. The rest of the time is split between gaming and physio. And the ratio between those varies, although last week I had zero physio so I found myself gaming 20 hours a day at least. With my last two games I went flat out with barely any breaks, but on the flipside I could sleep for a lot longer between the games. I'm sure it sounds pretty tragic and is probably the very definition of no-lifing but sadly I don't really have any alternatives right now. Since you'll be undertaking GTA IV soon, I could actually help you out with AWP. I'm almost done with the PS3 (only 3 games left), so I'll be moving on to the PS4 and the PS3 will be free to idle. Unfortunately KZ2 will be a nightmare for you, since a couple of months back I managed to get rank 1 or 2 from just 3 days of self-boosting (including all the misc online trophies). I think my final score was around 6000, but from what I've heard you need at least 25000 now just to scrape into the top 1% and this requirement will likely only get steeper as we edge closer to server closure. I would advise not to bother unless you can self-boost and put in a huge amount of time towards it, because there are a myriad of issues that will handicap you (such as unstable servers, stats not saving, week not resetting etc) even if you did have all the time and resources. Also I really like the outside the box thinking with 'Anger Management'! It's important not to get too carried away with the planning, because I actually burnt myself out after writing 4 roadmaps in a row and didn't feel like playing at all ?. Find the right balance that works for you so you can switch it up and keep things relatively fresh. So tell me about your gaming history? Mine is pretty rich and diverse, most of it being orientated around the PC although I'm not as old as I sound! And don't worry, English isn't my first language either but I daresay we speak it a lot better than many native speakers Edited January 22, 2018 by Zolkovo
Platagonist
@Zolkovo I am finally getting to responding to you here, sorry for the delay! ? I can let you know via PM about my health issues if you'd be genuinely interested in it, but considering how much text you've already read from me, I'll give you a little break first. ? I read your newest spreadsheet and there are a few games that I'd like to play too - I'd mainly want to start with Uncharted, Assassins Creed and GTA franchises, but the first two Infamous games along with Max Payne 3 are on my radar too. ? None of the games from your list should be extremely difficult (except of Max Payne 3) but finishing them all in 3 - 4 months is going to require extreme dedication and I am really eager to keep watching your journey! ? It does not sound tragic, I've had gaming days like these two! ? I also pretty much incline to dedicating to my hobbies as much as possible, because without them I'd definitely feel down much more often. Whether it's gaming or something different does not play any role - as long as it makes us happy, it's all worth doing! I have no idea when I will be tackling GTA IV - due to my OCD I'll want to finish III, Vice City and San Andreas first, so it might take a while. I researched KZ2 much more deeply yesterday and came to the conclusion that it's really not worth going for with just 2 consoles. I would have to spend around 70 hours/week on it (to get at least 35000 EXP), so for now I will pass and I'll adjust my Trophy Checklist to it. I'll only go for it in case I manage to gather enough funds to get a third or maybe even a fourth console. ? Like you, I am also trying to think of milestones and find nice trophies for them, but I already sort of regret it, because they are quite binding. Atm I'd like to take a break from Killzone and play some other games (such as Way of Redemption ?), but I 'have to' get the plat first, so during the next days I'll have to keep playing even if I struggle/don't have enough fun. ? My history is pretty long too - I've also mostly played on PC, and I prefered online games (in which I often spent a lot of time). To keep my post short(er), I'll just list them instead of writing too much about them: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (2006 - 2008) - 500 hours Trackmania United (2007 - now) - 700 hours Day of Defeat: Source (2008 - 2011) - 3000 hours Axis & Allies (2008 - 2010) - 500 hours Chess (2009 - now) - +3000 hours Counter-Strike: Source (2011 - 2013) - 2000 hours Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (February - November 2013) - 1000 hours Magic 2014 (2013 - 2014) - 800 hours Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (2014 - now) - 4000 hours and many other games in which I spent <500 hours I kind of regret not having started with PlayStation earlier, because I would have lot of plats/trophies now, but on the other hand it's probably good that I started quite late - I was extremely immature and desultory, so my profile would be way too clustered and my name too tarnished by my wrong actions. ? So it's probably not that bad that I started now! ? As for your English, I really have to praise it! ? I thought that you were a native English speaker! ? Where are you from? ❓
Zolkovo
Rather fortunate timing as PSN seems to be down for me so until I can sync up today's earnings I'll respond to this. Yeah please do PM me about it if you don't mind sharing. I've also tried really hard to play all games in chronological order, but on the other hand I wanted GTA IV as my first plat to pay homage to the fact that it was the first ever game I owned on PS3. So I'll justify it by way of saying GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas were re-released much later on Yeah you're right, I haven't picked any difficult games and I expected more of a challenge from some of those that I've already done. There's no way in hell I'll be able to get all of that list done in 3-4 months; I hope to get around the plat #40 mark. After which I'll be gaming significantly less but still sticking to the plan. I think Christmas 2018 is a more realistic goal for that entire list, but of course I'll be changing and adding things as we go. I'm not sure it'd be worth investing in even more PS3s at this point, I guess it depends how many games you have on that platform and of those how many you'd even need more than 2 for. I'm actually relieved that I'm almost done with the PS3. Every time I've had a freeze, I worry it's the end of the line as it's my CECHE01 80GB model with a still intact manufacturer's seal on it. Although of course the warranty is long expired, I'm pretty happy I've never had to open it up and it still runs ever so quietly. Good luck with KZ, I remember having a blast with it on the PS2 but I never did fancy a re-visit. Rather keep the pleasant nostalgia intact. I do regret jumping on the PSN bandwagon so late in the day too actually. Most of my days have been spent on PC with MMOs as well as indies and most AAA titles that get a PC port. Having said that, you can't really beat a PC's performance in every respect. I just prefer the couch more these days and you rarely have to deal with modded/hacked lobbies for online play with consoles.
