We finished the first act just fine, also finished all of the preparation missions of act 2 first, because this doesn't affect the CMM at all. But as we started up the first setup mission of act 2 our progress got reset for no reason. BIave Posted January 2, 2018 Share Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) We now can safely confirm, that starting a setup mission in free roam caused our reset bug concerning the criminal mastermind challenge IV. We did the whole thing one more time the exact same way but joined an invite only session before starting any setups or finals and it worked. ProfBambam55 Posted January 3, 2018 Share Posted January 3, 2018 (edited) another update on my end...had another random reset in a criminal mastermind iv run for one of our teammates upon completing the escort ulp heli mission... 3 of us had 24/29 while one was randomly reset to 0/29...updated my previous r* ticket (their reply posted earlier in this thread) which had been pending for a few days now with screenshots and video evidence...we'll see what happens... Once I’d selected Hard and Confirmed Settings, I went to the Matchmaking screen. The radio was annoying me so I backed into the Mission Settings screen. It was at this point I noticed that only the loyalty award was active. I think it was moving to the matchmaking screen and back to the mission setting screen that reset the progress. Can anyone confirm this could be the issue? It may seem random but it’s pretty easy to hit O as there’s no prompt to move between screens. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It may seem random but it’s pretty easy to hit O as there’s no prompt to move between screens. sadly i also did this, and yes, our progress was also reset...in our case it was just to change to player saved outfits... i also had it reset when i selected "from last heist" as an invite option...we were doing a 2-man run and it invited the people from a previous 4-man run...none of them, aside from the partner i was doing 2-man with, were even online or accepted this invite but just inviting them reset it... the matchmaking for these awards are extremely touchy...i spent more effort on assuring that i was in the correct lobby (invite only vs public), that everyone was a bodyguard of mine, that we were all in the heist room upon starting up missions, that i double-checked my award progress at the start and end of each mission, and that i double and triple-checked all of the lobby settings to make sure they were correct than i did actually just passing the missions...this random reset stuff was a mad buzzkill...still enjoyed going through the heist a bunch of times though...had some fantastic partners...epic co-op...great dlc... OJ9999vr Posted January 3, 2018 Share Posted January 3, 2018 Finally earned the 2 last trophies, i never had any issue with progress being reset. We took extreme precautions. I was the CEO the entire time, and invited all as associates as soon they entered the server. We never fast traveled or called Lester. We made sure everyone was in the heist planing room before starting anything. If i saw anyone being invited (in red), instead of joining (yellow/orange) i backed out using O. We played the preps in a public session. Setups and Heists were always played in a invite only session. Whenever a mission failed for any reason we closed the game, as quickly as possible. So i've just stuck with them. haha, I know what you mean...it's almost like superstition...if someone said "eat 5 bananas to ensure progress doesn't reset" I would've ordered a boatload of bananas for my crew and I...it's important to test these kinds of things too though before accepting them as fact...i'm saying I've tested it so you can blame me if it resets...haha...I swear I must've hit every possible progress reset combo...the last one we had was just a mystery though...i'm emphasizing that I've tested it in this case cuz it's a huge timesaver and not relevant to progress resetting... We have no confirmed reports of issues with Heist mission payouts or progression. Progression will be reset if the player launches a mission without the same team members, changes the difficulty of the Heist after the initial launch, or loses connection to GTA Online during a mission. We can still try to help you with this by requesting the following: Date/Time you encountered the issue A screenshot of your Doomsday Heist Awards [Stats > Awards > Doomsday Heists tab in the Pause Menu] or Heist Awards [Stats>Awards>Heists tab in the Pause Menu] While it is also beneficial if you have video of the issue you encountered, we will be able to continue investigating with just the information above. If you have any other questions, please let us know." i then submitted video evidence, screenshots of the progress in the awards menu, as well as including date and approximate hour of each...here's their response... "We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Your case has been escalated to the proper department for further review. Please note, cases are addressed in the order they are received. We appreciate your patience." and now the response from tier 2 support... "We have examined your account and we see that you have not completed Heist successfully meeting all required criteria to receive the Bonus. Hence, we are not able to verify this claim. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you in this regard." now before anyone tosses their pitchfork at the dev here let me say that this is pretty much what i expected their response to be...i'm actually big in the business world in real life myself...my goal wasn't really to get a clear answer from them but instead to let them know that there is an issue with their product...it's easy to brush off individuals like they did with me here but if enough people complain, they will definitely be looking to solve this even if they never publically acknowledge that there was even a problem to begin with...it's a pretty common business practice...it's better than admitting they released a product that was flawed and that they have no idea how to fix it... my advice to all those who have progress resets would be to please submit your tickets to rockstar support but don't expect them to solve your problem directly or to receive an email with a brilliant solution...i guarantee that, for the time being, the advice in this thread will serve you more use than what they will have to say on this topic...yes, it would be ideal if all devs took the time to look into all claims properly and fix them but i think in this day and age it's an unrealistic expectation...if 500 000 people own a game and 300 people are facing issues, the odds of them prioritizing the situation or spending any time on it is minimal to nonexistent... so, let's be happy we've found a solution here, keep submitting our evidence when bugs occur, and see what happens in the upcoming weeks/months...on the bright side, the criminal mastermind challenges are in fact achievable while taking a few extra precautions and this is one fun bada$$ free dlc...i really don't have much else to contribute to the topic here so good luck to all and remember to have fun...cheers... p.s. I'm guessing r* currently has bigger problems than a handful of us getting random progress resets...likely they're working on a patch/fix for this exploit...and yes, it actually works...i know many people who took advantage of it already...kind of old news now...yes, it gives you a $hit tonne of free multiplayer money...and no, there are no hacks involved... Anyway, you can not die, and the only difference between normal and hard is that you have are allowed one death on normal, so there is no point on playing on normal. Migaellou Posted January 24, 2018 Share Posted January 24, 2018 FYI I completed Criminal Mastermind IV and I confirm that you can fail a setup mission for various reasons such as fail an objective, destroy a vehicle, time expired, etc., and then use the quick restart option, as long as you don't die. Today, my group and I encountered a glitch (?) in terms of progress resetting concerning Criminal Mastermind III. We were playing the mission in which you have to escort Agent ULP while he is sitting in his helicopter. One of our members driving a Kuruma died due to an explosion, we closed the game immediately. Having checked our challenge progress afterwards, we realized that his progress has been reset while my other team member and I still had x/29 missions completed. We have completed the heist finale and only the person who died did not complete Criminal Mastermind III. Therefore, it seems that the progress tracker can sometimes be a bit off. Basically, we have not been able to fulfill the requirement of nobody dying which is why it seems that we had a fair share of luck with this. Best of success to you with this trophy!
