dermarx
This is the last game in the Trais of Cold Steel series, which will be released in Fall 2018 in Japan. No word on a western release yet. Here is a brief overview of the game, via Falcom:(Could be spoiling) Spoiler Due to the “The Great Twilight” plan being put into effect, a loathsome “curse” spread across the empire. Rean Schwarzer, the “Ashen Knight,” was overtaken by his rampaging ogre power and lost self-control. As the world heads for its demise, what actions will the remaining members of both the new and old Class VII take? According to Falcom, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ will be the final chapter of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series, and depict the conclusion of the Erebonian Empire through overwhelming volume and grand scale that surpasses its predecessor, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. Some screenshots: Spoiler more to see on gematsu (Source) Source I'm totally looking forward to ToCS 3 & 4. The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has a new interview with Falcom president and CEO Toshihiro Kondo following last week’s announcement of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~. Spoiler The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ is an important title that will serve as a major end point for the Trails series that began in 2004. The series’ end point in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ was decided around the time The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky was released. Since The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ is the first title Falcom announced as the final entry, there is major pressure on the company. Falcom wants to meet the expectations of the users who have played the series thus far. The subtitle, “The End of Saga,” was decided because The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV is a title that will end the series as a whole. The title logo was made to contain all the elements of the Trails series thus far. The sphere behind the “IV” depicts The Great One and two treasures from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. (Regarding the key visual of Rean Schwarzer) While Falcom cannot share details at the present time, the story will depict the hopeless conclusion to Rean’s story. At what point the story starts in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ is one thing to think about, but also pay attention to the question of, “Is Rean the protagonist in the first place?” There are more playable characters than in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III—the highest amount ever. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ is an extremely dense RPG full of volume from start to finish. While the “Brave Order” and “Break” battle systems from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III will carry over in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~, they are being fine-tuned with the goal of a system that has an even greater sense of completion. Since there are undoubtedly more characters than ever before in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~, they are working with care to make sure the story is constructed as a single RPG while also making preparations to highlight each character. The state of the Empire has undergone sudden change due to the curse and general mobilization of the nation. There are also quests as a result of such circumstances. The relationship between each side, such as where they are positioned, will also change. The enemy side will also see various movements. Crossbell Police Department Special Support Section members Lloyd Bannings and Elie MacDowell will begin moving towards the conclusion discussed at the end of The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki. Renne Hayworth has major involvement with and Tita Russell and Crossbell. Development is 45 percent complete. Edunstar84
Well, it's great news if you can read and speak Japanese, but for the rest of us, there's just a longer wait. No release date for #3 for the West either.

Popular Post Katt
message to XSEED: don't you DARE to localize the remasters BEFORE ToCS3. Major_Kiba
This great news that it'll come out in japan next year especially after that cliffhanger of an ending that was ToCS3.

fantrig99
XSeed is probably still in the early stages of localization for ToCS3. I was hyped when I thought it was one of the three unannounced games for 2018 next year. Now that Falcom has announced the final sequel ToCS4 I'm estimating at this current pace the localization might come around 2020 Japan Olympic games. Maybe there will be a surprise next year for the localization news I'm keeping my hopes up.

I mean, 2 massive games like Cold Steel 3 and 4 in just 1 year.
RadiantFlamberge
I'm surprised. Cold Steel III hasn't been out for that long in Japan, and they're saying CS4 will be out in less than a year. 9 hours ago, Katt said: message to XSEED: don't you DARE to localize the remasters BEFORE ToCS3. It's probably not going to take long for them to bring out the first two for PS4, with the translations being done. I wouldn't be shocked if they have a translation team on CS3 already, are keeping it secret for now, and start teasing it after 1st Quarter. Raine_Evenstar
Liking the new outfits overall, though I like Altina's Sen 3 one more for some reason. Can't wait to see the others Here's hoping Sen IV will have a satisfying conclusion for the Sen arc.
RadiantFlamberge
Love the new character designs. Just a bit bummed that we might not see CSIV for awhile, with Xseed not having said a thing about CS III yet. I'd be very glad if they said even a simple "We're working on CS III, release date TBA". dermarx
Some more Infos about Trails of Cold Steel 4 introducing Alisa Reinford and some other related characters. Also some screenshots: Alisa Reinford (voiced by Yui Horie) A former member of Class VII and the young lady of the Reinford Group, the largest heavy industry corporation in the Empire. After graduating from Thors Military Academy, she took over for her mother, capitalizing on her management skills. As senior manager of Reinford Group, she worked hard on her daily tasks such as building a collaborative framework with the Epstein Foundation. When disaster broke out in the Empire, she cooperated with Rean and the others as a former member of Class VII. But in the midst of that, her father who was thought to be dead made a sudden appearance in the Empire and revealed a shocking truth. At the same time, Sharon who also serves the Reinford Group, bids farewell to Alisa and returns to her former group, the Ouroboros society. Black Alberich (voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto) The leader of the Gnomes, which were said to have disappeared behind the scenes of Erebonia’s history. He is accompanied by the strange-looking combat shell “Zoa=Valor.” After he disappeared several hundreds of years ago, even the Hexen Clan was unable to find a single trace of him, but while the Gnomes changed their appearance to the Black Workshop and hid as part of the Ouroboros society’s engineering network the Thirteen Factories, they gained experience in the manufacturing of numerous weapons, combat shells, and homunculi. In order to create a disaster that will undermine the Empire, he appears center stage and swears absolute loyalty to the Blood and Iron Chancellor Osborne as Gnome. His true identity seems to be that of Alisa’s father, but his outward appearance is that of chairman Irina’s dead husband, Franz…? Irina Reinford (voiced by Yuuko Sumitomo) Alisa’s mom. Possessing extraordinary management skills, she is the current chairman of Reinford Group. Feelings of ill will were born between Irina and her daughter due to her father Gwyn being expelled from the group for manufacturing weapons of mass destruction, but during the Civil War, Alisa and the others from the old Class VII liberated Irina, and the discord between mother and daughter gradually died down. After that, she planned to keep a strict eye on Alisa, who began to help at work, while growing the Reinford Group further with the help of Sharon… However, when disaster broke out in the Imperial capital, her husband Franz, who was thought to be dead, appears as Black Alberich, causing total chaos among the Reinford family. Severing Chains Kreuger (voiced by Yukana) Also known as the Deathly Herald, Sharon is Enforcer No. IX “Severing Chains Kreuger” of the Ouroboros society. She previously served Reinford Group chairman Irina as an employee of the Reinford family, and also supported Alisa and the rest of Class VII as a flawless super maid. A law bestowed upon Enforcers stating “appreciate every freedom” is written on their shields, but although she seems to be continuing to distance herself from the society, Black Alberich appears, saying her contract with Irina is complete… So she returns to the society and as an Enforcer, and points her blade at Alisa. ■ Keywords Gnomes Gnomes are the descendants of a clan that inherited the Lost Zeum, one of the Sept-Terrion bestowed upon ancient humans by Aidios, and who possess technological ability that far surpasses Zemurian culture. They once cooperated with the Hexen Clan to watch over the Sept-Terrion, but a certain incident hundreds of years ago caused them to disappear from the Empire. After that, while they changed their appearance to the Black Workshop and hid as part of the Ouroboros society’s engineering network the Thirteen Factories, they gained experience in the manufacturing of numerous weapons, combat shells, and homunculi. Black Workshop A group of artisans involved in affairs all over the continent of Zemuria in various forms. Their true identity is the descendants of the Gnomes that disappeared from history hundreds of years ago. Hiding in the shadows, they have survived by changing their appearance to match the current trends. The Black Workshop will utilize any means necessary to achieve its goals and enhance its technological strength, including participating in the Ouroboros society’s engineering network the Thirteen Factories to gain know-how, providing the latest weapons to the Jaegers to collect combat data, and seizing the homunculi production methods established by the alchemists.
