hailurez
Finally got around to watching this. I actually really enjoyed it. I'm also a huge Beavis and Butt-Head fan. Still the same stupid humor after all these years

LastMinuteSavior
Halloween (2018) was a mixed bag, but Halloween Kills was straight up awful. So, I was naturally inclined to believe this movie's mostly negative reviews were fair, and almost didn't watch it. But, there's nothing like judging things by yourself and I ended up giving it a go. Truth be said, I benefited from having an idea of what awaited me and not going into it with the wrong expectations. Those can completely ruin a movie experience. Indeed, a Halloween movie is expected to primarily focus on Michael Myers doing a lot of slashing and dicing, and there's not a lot of that during the first half of the film, so it is understandable that a lot of people are getting disappointed with this entry. Still, I feel people are being a bit unfair trashing the movie because, even if it's weak as a slasher, it's still a pretty good thriller with a damn interesting character study and some very smart twists and clever subversion of expectations. It's a challenging script that kept me engaged. Also, it does have a satisfying ending. It's both pretty final but also kind of ambiguous in a way. Can't say more without going into spoilers though. After how bad the previous movie was, this one actually worked well enough for me. 6/10

El Duderino
The Tin Drum (1979) One of only three German movies that won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. However, it left me behind puzzled and unsettled. It's definitely not a pretty movie and most certainly nothing for Generation Marvel. El Duderino
The Evil Dead (1981) This movie has a very difficult history here in Germany. It was banned from 1984 to 2016 and caused a widespread controversy regarding violence in movies – similar to the "video nasty" craze in the UK. Today it can be found everywhere for dirt cheap. Things have definitely changed. Edited October 19, 2022 by El Duderino

El Duderino
For a Few Dollars More (1965) Classic Western films never get old, especially when its soundtrack is from the late and great Ennio Morricone.

TomataEighty9
A danish movie called Madklubben (Food club). 3 childhood friends go on a vacation to Italy, on a food club tour. They learn to make italian food, and they learn the true value of their friendship. A very beautiful movie.
El Duderino
Rocky II (1979) + Rocky III (1982) I haven't seen these movies in over a decade. Pretty cheesy at times but still leagues better than the filth Hollywood shits out today. Bill Conti's music still kicks ass.
Redgrave
Got to watching these two over the weekend. I had heard mixed things about Blade Runner 2049 though nothing really bad. Now that I've seen it I think I can say that it's good but if not as good as the first. It definitely has its moments that were pretty cool though and there were a lot of cool shots that I feel like would have been really neat to see in the theater. It's also funny seeing the scenes that were meme'd on and trying not to laugh at them despite them being pretty serious moments ? As for Batman I have seen it before but I try to watch it as well as Batman Returns during the month of October despite them not really being Halloween movies. But yeah, it's a great movie and the performances by Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson are great. With this movie's performances and darker tone along with the iconic theme they helped pave the way for the future Batman: The Animated Series along with all the other animated DC shows that came out afterward.

I did see this film in a theater, it was amazing. The sights impressed for sure, but it was also the sound and music that stood out. The track that plays when K flies over the city could be felt in your bones. The fight at the casino with its sound design also sounded great. But there is plenty to like about this movie. I like the visual theme with moments of fake and real humans catching fake and real droplets/snowflakes that depicted how real and alive they feel at the moment. Similar to how the first film was focused on the eyes. One of the negatives for me was how dragged out some scenes felt at the end. I feel like one of them probably didn't need to be there at all.

Yeah, it definitely seems like something I would have liked to have seen in the theater kind of like with Mad Max too because of all the drums and the engine sounds ? And yeah that casino part was cool even if Harrison Ford is dressed like they just pulled him from his front yard gathering mail and he didn't feel like putting any costume on ?
El Duderino
Rocky IV (1985) The Rocky series has completely run out of steam at this point and the plot is as ludicrous as it is predictable. The film is best summarized with this gif: Edited October 21, 2022 by El Duderino
El Duderino
Octopussy (1983) Wow, what a terrible film that was! A nonsensical plot full off conveniences, contrivances, and flat characters. James Bond dressed in a clown costume, a gorilla outfit and doing a Tarzan yell during a jungle chase makes for the worst of the Moore films and one of the worst Bonds overall. Just dumb and comical. Popular Post Redgrave
My sort of October tradition of watching Batman continues with the Christmas themed movie that was released in June of 1992. I like it about the same as the first one though I think Returns has more of an emotional lead to it since it shows how broken and tragic Catwoman and Penguin are which usually goes in line with how a lot of Batman characters are people that probably could have been better people if not for their circumstances. In the Penguin's case it's a lesson of don't abandon your mutant baby to the sewers or they will grow up to be an outcast that bites peoples noses yet manages to have an army of penguins that will fire missiles. But yeah, I like it a lot as a dark Christmas themed movie even if it is campy at times arguably more than the first one. Like the first one it's a great cast and while I'm not really into Catwoman I think I can see the appeal to Pfeiffer's version of it. Danny DeVito also did a great Penguin and I like Christopher Walken's character which I think is exclusive to the movie since I don't think I've seen him in any other Batman story except maybe an easter egg in one of the Arkham games. The soundtrack is also probably the one thing I would say I like over the first one since it has that kind of creepy Christmas music but the song that plays at the end is very good.
