SelectiveGamer
The Promised Neverland finished airing on Toonami. Honestly... I feel like this was a pretty overrated series. Don't take this the wrong way though. I'm not saying it's a bad series, because it's not. It's a pretty decent series. It just took way to long for the series to actually get good. 8 episodes. That's too long of a wait. An anime should take, at most, 5 episodes to actually get good. So it's not that I didn't like the series because I did. It just ended up being somewhat overrated by everyone and it took 8 episodes to actually get good. ? Also... is Toonami freaking serious with Food Wars? MEGA HARD PASS. ? To his delight, Nariyuki receives the nomination, but there's a catch: he has to tutor his two star classmates, who are each hopelessly mediocre at the other’s subject of expertise! After a chance encounter with the lonely goddess, Hestia, his dreams become a little closer to reality. With her support, Bell embarks on a fantastic quest as he ventures deep within the city's monster-filled catacombs, known only as the "Dungeon." Death lurks around every corner in the cavernous depths of this terrifying labyrinth, and a mysterious power moves amidst the shadows. Even on the surface, survival is a hard-earned privilege. Indeed, nothing is ever certain in a world where gods and humans live and work together, especially when they often struggle to get along. One thing is for sure, though: a myriad of blunders, triumphs and friendships awaits the dauntlessly optimistic protagonist of this herculean tale. Inseated of watching the recap "Past & Future", I rewatched S1. (although I did not know that elf girl from Sword Oratoria or I just forgot she made cameos in S1) Hangyakusei Million Arthur S1 Episode 1-10 (finished) Quote The sacred sword "Excalibur". A sword that was created to judge a person's ability to be the king of England. Those whom the sword accepts will be called "Arthur" and will obtain great power. However, there was not a single Arthur but many. Due to this massive creation of legendary humans, the world and its history began to be distorted. Now, with the aim of restoring the history of the world to its original course, six Arthur, a master of the sword, a fighter, a sniper, a puncher, an alchemist and a shooter, set out for England. Their mission is to defeat all those who have managed to obtain a power from the sacred sword Excalibur and are using that power to distorting the world, which is around a million people. I loved Yama-chan (no surprise as I like Twintails a lot), still I liked the leader as well with her cosplay almost all the time, being a pervert. Episode 4 Dr. Stone Episode 3 Hayate no Gotoku!! Episode 16-25 (Finished) Quote Hayate Ayasaki's misfortune continues to hand him the short end of the stick. Now settled into his routine at the Sanzenins' mansion and Hakuou Academy, the butler continues to work as hard as ever in caring for his young mistress Nagi while studying the school's grueling curriculum—all on top of trying his best to survive the multitude of troubles that life relentlessly pushes onto him. The unintentional chick magnet's life is far from quiet, forced to deal not only with Nagi's yet unnoticed infatuation with him, but also the evergrowing string of accidentally seduced girls—most notably, the exceptionally plain Ayumu Nishizawa, a friend of his before he became a butler, and the diligent Hinagiku Katsura, Hakuou's student council president. While one struggles to gain his affection and the other desperately tries to deny her own, both the girls are going to make the boy's life a little more complicated than it already is. Unlike Season 1, Season 2 is all but the 2nd half of the final episode being a adaptation of the manga(with the 2nd half of the final episode being anime original). Now to re-watch the Movie that the manga talked about(I watched the movie long before I started reading the manga) which in anime storyline more or less replace the Hayate and A-tan flashback arc and Hayate and A-tan reunion, which is a serious arc and has adult Athena but I guess it was "too serious" for getting made into a anime... Honor_Hand
Darling in the FranXX - 24 Episodes - (2018) Enjoyment Score: 5 A show about angsty teenagers piloting kawaii robots through the power of doggy style, and then... This show kinda let me disappointed. While the post-apocalyptic premise was interesting, most of the characters were not and I had troubles growing sympathetic towards most of them. The art style is good enough, even if the mecha design is... truly something else. What really hurt this show the most, for me anyway, was the plot. We don't get a proper explanation and background of this world until episode 19 and the reveal of episode 20 feels so out of place, like, as if they tried to fit an entire second season onto the last 4 episodes. There are some things that redeem it though. Zero Two is an excellent character and by far best girl in the show. The opening and ending themes are pretty catchy and some of the mid-season episodes were kind of nice, especially the ones that go about how Zero Two and Hiro knew each other when they were kids. Best girl? Spoiler Well, why, Zero Two. Pretty much the only character that carried the series forward. Also, she was freaking adorable during this flashback x3 Well done, Zero Two. To bad for the rest of the characters though >.> The Helpful Fox Senko-san - 12 Episodes - (2019) Enjoyment Score: 8 Watching an overworked salaryman being pampered by this 800-year-old fox girl was so great! No, really. This series plays out mostly as a self-insertion fantasy and there's nothing particularly perverted about it. If anything, Senko's relationship with the main character is one of motherly care and affection. Watching the two interact and how Senko deeply cared about the main character made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It also made me feel, "Man, I wish I could be that guy." Who wouldn't want to receive all this tender care on a regular basis? Senko was super cute, as it was Shiro (Senko's friend) who would come occasionally to hang out with them. Honestly, this is a slice of life that feels soul-nurturing and I really enjoyed watching each and every episode. Best girl? Spoiler I'm going to go with Senko herself. I mean, just look at her. She is a great bundle of love, ready to pamper you as soon as you arrive home. Look at this fluffy tail, isn't she adorable? And her pointy ears are just as cute. =3 x3 I won't lie, I also liked Shiro's costume too. ^w^ Both are great girls, great girls, definitely. Who's a good girl? You're a good girl, yes!! One-Punch Man 2nd Season - 12 Episodes - (2019) Enjoyment Score: 9 Why is everyone out there crying so much because of this season? It was pretty awesome. Yes, they changed studio and staff members. Yes, the new animation is not as good as the first one. I get it. But all the elements of the franchise are still there, and this new style isn't bad either, it's just different. The trademark humor from Saitama is there. There are some pretty bombastic action scenes as well. And something that I really enjoyed in this season is that the focus was more on expanding this unique world, alongside all the characters that live in it. King was a very welcome comical character and Garou is one of the coolest anti-heroes I have ever seen. The way he strives to achieve his objective and how he pushes himself to his limits, despite everything and everyone being against him, really resonated with me. It's not nearly as epic as the first season was, and the animation can be a bit clunky at times by comparison but goddamn it, I really enjoyed this season. Why, we even got to see Watchdog Man and Pig God in action too lmao I really liked how Saitama pretty much turned into a side character into his own show, kinda like a wild card if everyone else fails. All in all, if you liked the first season, then you're definitely going to enjoy this one too. Best...eh...moments? Spoiler Juicebox gamers? But King is the actual pro here xxD THE CGI banana obsession. My boy Genos clapping, please notice his excitement. Suiryu Vs. Saitama AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day - 11 Episodes + 1 Special + 1 Movie - (2011) Enjoyment Score: 9 Being a person myself that loves drama anime, I had my interest in AnoHana for a long time. Since it frequently makes top 10 lists for most tear-jerking anime series, I thought that it would be right up my alley. Fortunately enough, the series did not disappoint. From the get-go, we're introduced to an interesting set of characters with interactions and dialogues that were very believable to me. AnoHana explores the relationship of a group of friends torn apart years ago by the death of one of their group, the titular Honma Meiko. As the series progresses, we see how each of them must come to terms with their pain and guilt and try to move forward. What really caught me in the series is how Honma, now amongst them as a ghost/spirit, tries to help the group come to terms with their problems. Menma has a wish that she wants them to fulfill but she is not clear of said wish. By the end of the anime, they reveal to us what that wish was and, let me tell you, it was a very sad and happy moment at the same time, kinda like a bittersweet reveal. The music is pretty great, especially the theme used at the closing of each episode and hearing it just now easily gets me all teary-eyed. While not an absolute tear-jerker as some other series, it definitely has its moments. The character interactions are very believable and I could easily recommend this anime to anyone who is into drama as well. Best girl? Spoiler Well, it's Menma of course. The whole story spins around here. This is AnoHana's ending in a nutshell T_T Me ? Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma☆Illya - 10 Episodes + 1 OVA + 5 Specials - (2013) Enjoyment Score: 8 Admittedly, I love cute girls but I'm not exactly a well-versed expert in the mahou shoujo kind-of-series. I wanted to correct that with Fate/kaleid. I also wanted to get into the Fate series and since that appears to be an extremely complicated ordeal I just said, "Screw it, let's try with the cute magical girls show first." What an enjoyable watch this was. The animation was surprisingly good and the opening and closing themes were pretty cool as well. So far, I've only watched the first season alongside the very first set of specials and one OVA. Illya and Miyu are brought over into the magical girl affair in order to collect cards of immeasurable power. It's not revolutionary by any means but it's well played out and both the ecchi and comedy are well played out. Looking forward to the rest of the franchise, nya! :3 Best girl? Spoiler This is a pretty hard pick between two equally lovable girls, hmmm. This moment in the series man. xxxD Miyu is a cute maid, no doubt. :3 But Illya's mahou shoujo costume is just as great as well. BUT, there's only one way to break this tie now... And I have the proof right here for that. ? Spoiler ? Proof. Spoiler Illya is winning this best girl race, for now. And that's it for anime in the last few days. Undead Wolf
Shirobako (24 Episodes) This was a pretty wholesome series about a group of friend's experience within the anime industry. It was pretty cool seeing the different stages of anime production and all the people it takes to make the final product. It's a gorgeous-looking anime too and filled with a lot of likeable characters. I learned a thing or two watching this which was nice. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable (39 Episodes) What a wild ride this was. I liked Part 1 & 2 well enough, but Part 3 is where I really fell in love with JoJo's. I knew going in that Diamond is Unbreakable was much more condensed than Stardust Crusaders, taking place entirely within the city of Morioh this time around, but that doesn't make it any less awesome. The new main characters are great, and while Kira isn't quite as grandiose as Dio was, he's still incredibly entertaining to watch. He just wants to live a quiet life... with a touch of murder on the side. Part 4 isn't perfect of course, and you're required to suspend your disbelief at times, but it's such an enjoyable anime when you don't take things super seriously. There were a lot of memorable scenes. I loved it.
