Popular Post Platagonist
Hello everyone, thanks for visiting my Trophy Checklist! Old texts (aka challenges on hold): Spoiler Preparations for this new challenge Since November when I started to live on my own I've started to think of coming back and I was thinking of ways how to adjust this old challenge. I've spent tons of hours on this and coming back was not exactly easy - firstly I had to find a brand new PS3 console which at first did not seem like a huge problem - back in November there even was a Slim one in the Czech Republic but I wanted to wait a bit before buying it, but, it disappeared very quickly. So I started to search on eBay in December and I found quite a few Brand New consoles - I bid on a few, but most of them were sold for extremely high prices in the end so I gave up on that as well. In January I forgot about the dream of getting a brand new Slim console and decided to get just any brand new console that would be available. But to my huge surprise, they all sold out in December and I was almost lost - I even thought of getting a used one after all but after like 6 - 8 hours of Googling, I managed to find an obscure shop in a city that only has around 3000 inhabitants and it had a brand new console. I called it's owner and it was a brand new Slim one - this really made my day and I became the shops fourth customer of this year! Last two weeks I was on a vacation, but I was still thinking how to play in order to make my profile unique and to give myself a new, but not-so-hardcore challenge. Challenge adjustments and goals: 1.) Semi-completionism (mob_skater, Anti-Esel) - this means that I won't go for a 100% profile again. Back in my last challenge this really took quite some fun from me and I felt like I 'had to' finish my games. Now when I'll aim for a 70 - 90% profile, I'll feel a great relief because I will be able to keep games unfinished and get back to them later, in case I struggle or don't have enough fun. I'll also be able to play games just for fun (for example PS Move games with my friends) where I won't 'have to' care about trophies. On top of that, I won't need to buy DLCs if I don't feel like it because in my opinion most of them are not really worth the money and you can't 'choose' (unlike with Base Games) whether you want them on your profile or not - which played a huge role in my decision because if I wanted to go for a 100% perfect profile, I really would not want to end up with a game such as nail'd, Rambo or Burn Zombies Burn. Goal #1: And of course, I gave myself a goal in this category - to sometime (I won't be stressing it) end up with a 'Perfect platinum profile' - which basically means: Games played = the number of plats earned (hobi13, Get-A-Life-Noobs) But mainly, this made me come up with my biggest focus in the year of 2018: 2.) Ultra Rare plats and Online Trophy focus (Potent_Delusions, ThanatosNinja2) - considering the amount of PS3 online servers shutting down, I would like to get as many online trophies as possible - I have thought of quite a few games which I would like to play, because in my opinion they are 'at risk' (more info below) - so once I am done with online trophies of a game, I can keep it on my profile and play it's single player later, which is awesome! I currently own 4x PS3, 2x PS4 and 2x PS Vita consoles so I am pretty much ready to start (self-)boosting! And I'd like to combine this point with Ultra Rare trophies, so here go my new goals: Goals #2 and #3: Become eligible to join the Difficult Games (I currently need to finish 12 difficult games) and The Ultra Rare Trophies & Platinums (I currently need 40 Ultra Rare plats) PST.org leaderboards 3.) Quantity + quality (ReimiSaionji9742, Shadiochao, PrinceOfPeace, ToxiKirby) - in my old challenge I gave myself the goal to maintain an average trophy rarity below <30%, which was pretty much extreme. So I decided to adjust it to 30 - 40% so that I can also play games which I am genuinely interested in on top of my Ultra Rare ones and online grinds. However, I won't be playing piss-easy games (such as VNs, stacks or games with auto-pop trophies), so this rarity should be much more possible. I am also sticking with my >5.00 trophies per day goal, but I won't rage if I keep it at like 3.50 - 5.00 - I expect it to be in this area even if I play a lot due to the points above. Oh and I won't be hiding any trophies! Goal #4 (The Ultimate Dream Goal): I don't expect to fulfill this goal, but I am putting it here anyways - some day I'd like to raise my completion above 90% and become eligible to join the PST Completionist Leaderboard - even if I keep playing the way I had planned (no DLCs and no non-plat games, at least for now) - this seems pretty much impossible, but after many years and many games played this could be possible (christmaser, zombiehunter66) About me (new text): I've had a few PSN profiles, but they never lasted long. I even gave myself a challenge the last time, but I abandoned it pretty early due to not meeting deadlines (my schedule was kind of busy) and also because of some goals being too strict. On top of that I started to struggle with some of the games I had played. So I started to think of a new challenge (more info above - old text) and after a lot of planning I managed to come up with quite a unique system - in brackets you can see the profiles of people who inspired me. Sadly, my progress was not going as well as I would expect - I was not playing as much in February due to lack of time, then in March I was not getting enough trophies, because I was way too busy hunting soon-to-close games. In April I made a new schedule - I was expecting to finally catch up with some easy and short single-player games, but real life hit me hard - due to some personal issues, I was forced to take a one-month break. This break made me extremely burnt out and I just wanted to stop gaming for good - I had no ideas how I would be able to keep to my plans such as high trophies per day ratio (due to my inactivity) and trophies from soon-to-close games (due to moving out back to my parents and having just 1x PS4 and 2x PSVita consoles in there) - but I realized that I really would not want to do the same mistake again. During the last 3 months I've managed to meet some extremely nice people and I also got quite a few trophies, which are now unobtainable. If I abandoned this profile, it would be a real pity and I likely would not find enough strength to start fresh for the third time. So, that's why I managed to come up with my newest challenge: Platagonist's 10 Plats May Challenge: This is like a last chance to put my trophies per day ratio to where I want it to be, so please, wish me luck! It was quite hard to find enough short games which I would enjoy - mainly because I stick to my restrictions such as plats only, no stacks, no ezpzs, no VNs that I would just skip (plus I was looking only for PS4 games which have some sort of guide for my safety) - but in the end I managed it! My PS+ subscription proved to be really useful, because I only needed to buy 3/10 games, which greatly helped with surviving of my wallet. These games are (I will play them in no particular order): Bastion Apotheon Beach Buggy Racing Forma.8 Claire: Extended Cut Feist Road Rage Psychonauts Deadlight: Director's Cut Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae Of course I will keep updating this topic with my progress! Additional challenges: I was inspired by Zolkovo's Little Big Project and so I decided to include some more challenges for myself: 1.) 'Special challenges' - random hard challenges which might be, but are not limited to: extremely UR plats (<0,50%), long grinds (+150 hours), rare trophies from soon-to-close games etc. - I'd like to finish 3 of them/year. Current progress (1/3): A) Killzone 2 - Valor Grand Cross grind: Spoiler I've been planning this grind since December, 2017 when the server closure was announced. At first I thought that I would be fine with just 2 PS3s and score like 15k, then I wanted to do it with 4 PS3s and a score like 35k, but before I managed to buy all PS3s, the cut-off point sky-rocketed to like 70 - 95k and so I got pretty hesitant to start. After a huge spamming of the Here's how to earn Valor Grand Cross thread, I finally set up PSNow on my PS4s and PC as well and to 'assure' myself the trophy, I also managed to found a really great boosting group. Then I finally managed to get the trophy on my first try (during one of the most hardcore week), but it would not have been possible without all the great people who helped me. If you guys don't feel like reading more text from me, here is a chart summing up my journey: If you are keen to read more text, here is some more of it: On the first day the first problem hit me - I had no clue that PSNow subscriptions were only available in the UK and the US. So, I had to grind just against 3 of my PS3 alts and I ended up with 'only' 13k points. I wanted to give up, but then I decided to man up and so I created 3 more US alts and bought 3 $20 PSN Cards in order to buy 3 1-month PSNow Subscriptions - I could not activate the trials because obviously I had no US Credit Card associated with any of these accounts. And then the only one good thing happened - my turbo controllers arrived one week earlier than I had expected them! I was really happy and I have to say that having the alts respawn themselves really helped me out - even though my headshot ratio was terrible in the end (these jumping alts are much harder to hit!) - I can't imagine respawning 6 alts so fast on my own! I was only respawning the PC alt from time to time and even that was slowing me down a little (along with giving myself ammo once per game by leaving spawn with the other alts). So I am sure that the Turbo Controllers managed to keep me at like 30k more EXP. Then it all went downhill! Since Tuesday my consoles have started to freeze, and they were freezing very often. The moment I managed to reset the first console (wrongly, by the way - I had no idea that holding the power button forces it's reset, I kept pulling the cord out of power and possibly putting the consoles at risk...), the second one froze and by the time I will have resetted it, the PSNow on PC would close due to inactivity or I'd get an occasional PS4 disconnect). Every morning my set-up took like 15 mins to set up, but due to these problems I sometimes started like 1 - 2 hours later! And even when everything seemed alright, it started happening a few hours later once again! I had to idea why this was happening and thought it would be due to over-heating. So I turned off my heating when there was -13°C outside expecting to get enough heat from the consoles itself. Boy, I should not have done this! On Wednesday, I managed to get inflammation of urinary bladder due to the cold in my flat, and so I've started to visit the toilet like every 15 mins. The procrastination and/or lack of motivation also hit me that day, because that's when the leaderboards stopped working. After I hit 85k (and reached #1 spot), I really needed to take a break, because that day only 17/32k saved - that was the most unlucky day for me. Since then I've not been trying too much, I caught myself spending time on Discord and/or forums instead of grinding and I started to feel really depressed. Since Friday my temperature has hit 38°C, so I was not really glad when my grind finally ended on Sunday! Here is my OCD chart in case you'd be curious to see it. Currently playing: Games on hold: Beach Buggy Racing (PS4): Enjoyment level: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Time spent in-game: 6 hours, 11 minutes Some day I might regret having this game on my profile, but so far I've been enjoying it the most of my list. It was part of my back-log, because I bought it in 2015 (it reminded me of Crash Team Racing). It's not nearly as good and compared to CTR it's extremely easy, but it plays it's role as an extremely relaxing game before the KZ2 grind well. Surprisingly it's trophy rarity is in the 'Rare' range, but this is because of the US version which requires +50 hours of grinding. Luckily I will be finished in just 10 - 15 more hours (due to the EU patch which lowered some trophy requirements). Casually playing: Start the Party! (PS3) - during the last few weeks I've been playing this for roughly 1 - 2 hours/week with my real life friends. So it's needless to say that I won't be going for a plat here (yet) - first I have to get used to the PS Move controller and then I'll have to actually learn the game. But so far we are having fun, it's nicely infantile and some games in there are actually quite a challenge! Plans for the next months/spreadsheets: January 2018: Asura's Wrath - first trophy - Anger Management (First Trophy Milestone) Saints Row The Third - online trophy - Jumped In Sains Row IV - online trophy - Sanctified Killzone HD - first platinum trophy - Platinum (First Platinum Milestone) Wipeout HD - finish the campaign on Novice 1 - 2 times (work towards the Bling Brigade Online Trophy) February 1st - February 10th, 2018: Way of Redemption boost - 22 online trophies (game is closing on February, 10th) February 10th - February 25th, 2018: Beach Buggy Racing Feist Eyepet - online trophy - Shopaholic February 26th - March 10th, 2018: Killzone 2 selfboost with 4 PS3s, 2 PS4s and 1 PC with PSNow - main focus on Valor Grand Cross trophy March 2018: Killzone 2 - remaining online trophies Killzone 3 - 10 online trophies (selfboost possibly not needed) Killzone 3 Multiplayer selfboost - 42 online trophies Wipeout HD selfboost - 5 online trophies including Bling Brigade Wipeout 2048 - 7 online trophies (not possible to self-boost most likely, have to do more research) April 2018: Gravity Rush May 2018: Platagonist's 10 Plats May Challenge Games that I'd like to play in 2018: Games in danger of server closing down (more or less just to get rid of their online trophies): Modnation Racers (!) Uncharted 1, 2, 3 + The Last Of Us LittleBigPlanet 1, 2, 3 + LBP Karting (!) PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Motorsport Apocalypse Motorsport RC 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil Zumba Fitness Far Cry 2 Defiance Red Dead Redemption Drawn to Death Fifa 15 Burnout Paradise Games that I genuinely want to play and plat: Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, San Andreas + Bully Crash N Sanity Trilogy Spyro Trilogy (ETA: Q3 2018) some games from the Need for Speed franchise some other Uncharted games some COD games Payday: The Heist Gravity Rush 2 Earthlock: Festival of Magic Shu Mayhem 3D Backlog (I currently have around 40 games across all my consoles/PSN accounts - and it will keep raising because of my PS+ subscription): Asura's Wrath Cars: Race-O-Rama Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole Alice: Madness Returns Duke Nukem Forever Infamous 1,2 Assassins Creed 2 Mafia 2 Dante's Inferno Gran Turismo 6 Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Majin and the Forsaken Kingdoms Knack Gauntlet: Slayer Edition Magicka 2 Putty Squad Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends RiME Spelunker HD and the list goes on... Finished games: 3.) Gravity Rush (PSVita): Spoiler Gravity Rush (PSVita): Enjoyment level: 7/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time Spent in-game: 14 hours, 49 minutes (Timestamp: 1 day, 8 hours) I chose this game as my first PSVita plat on purpose, because it was the first Vita plat on my old profile as well. It's very interesting that I was struggling with the game and had no fun back in 2015, because this time I breezed through it and had quite a lot of fun! I guess I still remembered some of it from 2,5 years ago, so I made sure to avoid all the mistakes that I had been making. I also weaseled out of the hard(er) Time Trials, because this time I was going only for the plat. The only thing which proved to be a challenge was the Rift Planes: Inferno special Nevi. Overall, I am very happy that my second playthrough was much better experience! So far Gravity Rush is the game I've been enjoying the most on this account, so I am really looking forward to playing it's sequel on PS4 soon! 2.) Way of Redemption (PS4): Spoiler Way of Redemption (PS4): Enjoyment level: 5/10 Difficulty: 6/10 Time Spent in-game: 10 hours, 11 minutes (Timestamp: 1 day, 6 hours) I was pretty nervous when I started playing this game. The South American servers have already been closed and I had just a few days left until the game's termination. So I decided to no life it during weekend. It was not 'that' hard to play, but it took me a while to get into it - at the beginning I really struggled and thought I had no chances to plat it. But the next day I got the hardest trophies out of the way and then there was just the Fast winner trophy left - and man, that was such a pain! Extremely luck based trophy which took me 3 hours to get and I consider myself lucky, because for some of the others it was more like 6 hours! To be honest I would have enjoyed this game much more if I started earlier or played casually, but due to the plat rush I wanted to have it done asap - that's why every little struggle gave me a headache. Luckily I managed to meet some extremely nice people, who helped me cope with my frustration. Still, it was quite a stress, so the next time I'll try to start the soon-to-be-unobtainable games much earlier. 1.) Killzone HD (PS3): Spoiler Killzone HD (PS3): Enjoyment level: 6/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time spent in-game: 23 hours, 58 minutes I chose this game as my first one deliberately, because I was planning to continue with Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 soon. Also, it seemed quite easy (according to PST.org it's only 3/10 difficulty and almost 17% of players on PSNP have the plat) and it's plat name is simply 'Platinum', which to me seemed like a nice name for my First Platinum milestone, considering that I am avoiding the non-plat games (at least for now). I decided to play this without cheat codes and surprisingly some levels proved to be quite difficult to me! I am quite new to FPS games on consoles, that's probably the reason why I had been struggling for a few hours in some levels (even though the aim assist in this game was quite noticeable). But once I finished my Hard playthrough (the grenade launcher guys along with Sentry Turrets were really annoying me!), the remaining easy ones were a breeze (especially with Rico) and I was glad when I finished - because these additional playthrough made the game quite repetitive. Edited May 2, 2018 by Platagonist Edit #8 - Renamed the thread, put my old challenges on hold, added the new 'Platagonist's 10 Plats May Challenge', deleted the 'Playing with friends' additional challenge, added the Gravity Rush Mini Review

Platagonist
This topic took me quite a while to prepare, sorry about that! The first edit is completed now. I will soon start adding the 'Currently Playing' and 'Finished Games' categories, just like I was doing in my old challenge.
Zolkovo
This was actually a good read. Btw if you happen to have Burnout Paradise in your PS3 backlog, be sure to hit me up. I wonder if the PS4 re-release will share the same servers as the PS3 game. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Platagonist
Thanks a lot for reading my topic! ☺️ I've just added the 'Currently Playing' section and updated my plans for following weeks! Burnout Paradise was actually one of my first PS3 games! ? I almost platted it in 2009, but I could not figure out Power Parking back then. ? Sadly, I sold the game in like 2011 - it was the original non-DLC version, and I imagine it would take me a while to find it, but feel free to tell me when you are about to play it and I'll give it a shot! ? The only trophy that's worrying me a little is 8 players meet in the Wildcats' Baseball Stadium - I am not sure how active this game is online, but I noticed that it could also be achieved offline, so maybe it would not be that complicated. ? Platagonist
@CJ_Mystery, @Zolkovo UPDATE: I added the 'Finished Games' section and reviewed both finished games, I also updated my April plans. ? So far I am sticking to most of my goals: 30 - 40% average trophy rarity (currently at 35,65%) >5.00 trophies per day ratio (currently at 6.00) I also managed to finish all games as planned (except of Wipeout HD Bling Brigade trophy preparations), but I platted Way of Redemption faster than expected, so I should now have some time to catch up! ? I am gonna start with Beach Buggy Racing today. ?️ Thanks to everyone for reading my thread!
GarciaFever
Hey, I noticed that you have ModNation Racers on your list. I would say try to avoid that game, as the grind is almost unbearable. However should you decide to continue with that game, I am currently trying to boost the online stuff with 6-7 other people all trying to get them as well. You're welcomed to join us if you want to
Zolkovo
I just checked through your list and I'm pretty sure nail'd has some unobtainable DLC trophies. Just a heads up!
Skadoki
Far Cry 2, PS All-Stars Battle Royal and all 3 Uncharted MP trophies? Well, someone is going to have a busy grind time. Good luck with that! Hope you will manage to finish you goals. Btw., I wouldn't recommend Drawn to Death. The game is mediocore at best and there are almost no active players (not to mention some grindy trophies). Platagonist
UPDATE: I wrote some text about 'Beach Buggy Racing' and added it to the 'Currently Playing' section, I also had to update my February and March plans again because of KZ2. ? Thanks for reading my topic, guys! @GarciaFever I am planning to start playing ModNation Racers after I am done with TDU2 and possibly Far Cry 2 as well, so my estimate to start it seems like the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year, so I hope you guys will have already been done by then. ? I wish you good luck boosting! ? @Zolkovo Thanks for reminding me, but considering that I am going just for plats and no 100% completion, having unobtainable DLC trophies is not bothering me. @Skadoki Thanks for your nice words! ? I've not studied DTD yet, but it should not be too hard to (self-)boost it. I sort of like it's trophy names as well, so I would not want to miss this UR plat. ?But it's currently not my #1 priority, so it will depend on my schedule - I might not go for it after all. GarciaFever
@Platagonist So far around 3 people got the online done, with 2 of them getting the platinum. And another game that you will like with a good ultra rare platinum is Vanquish. Third-person shooter, and the tactical challenges will give you a run for your money. Platagonist
UPDATE: I completely changed my March plans because of my KZ back out. I would like to catch up my trophies per day ratio, considering I've really slacked during the last 10 or so days. I also tagged a few of my friends, so that they could help me with my April plans, and added two new sections: 'Casually playing' and 'Hall of Shame'. @GarciaFever Thanks for your suggestion, I might give it a try at some point! ? But considering that it does not include any online trophies, it won't be on my priority list for a while.
Smashero
That was nice to read,I will send you a PM. Just one thing: Wipeout 2048 - 7 online trophies (not possible to self-boost most likely, have to do more research) Totally possible with 4xPSV (like I did). Just get the prototype ship with unlimited cannons and kill other 3 ships right at the start of the level -> next. @Zolkovo Burnout Paradise PS3: still on my bookshelf, not even unwrapped. Any info about servers? Since PS4 version is coming, I am starting to be afraid that they will be gone...
Zolkovo
6 hours ago, Smashero said: @Zolkovo Burnout Paradise PS3: still on my bookshelf, not even unwrapped. Any info about servers? Since PS4 version is coming, I am starting to be afraid that they will be gone... Amazingly, the servers are still up and smooth as ever. I'm also concerned that they might do away with the PS3 servers once the remaster comes out (there's no official word on what will happen to the servers yet) which would be a real shame as I have all the DLC too. If you're interested I could get together enough people to knock out all 8 player online trophies in March, and the rest should be easy to boost together with just 2-4 people. Platagonist
UPDATE: I removed the 'Hall of Shame' section and edited my plans back to the old ones! I can already say that I've slacked way too much since February, 6th - my trophies per day progress has dropped from 6.00 to 4.50 and I won't be able to finish Beach Buggy Racing and Feist how I planned. ? I will have to get back to them in April (as you can see, March will be an extremely busy and stressful month for me) or even later! ? So, it will take me a while to push my trophies per day ratio back where I want it to be. ? I also added 'Burnout Paradise' to the games-at-risk section and bought my second copy of TDU2 - two more to go! ? @Smashero Thanks a lot for your help regarding Wipeout 2048, I replied to your PM yesterday. ? I also have some more questions regarding WipeOuts: 1.) With my set-up, how many alts for Bling Brigade can I duplicate? If I finish the game on PS3, do I get +1 alt for my Vita (if expansion for Wipeout 2048 is bought)? Which means that theoretically, I could get up to 6 skins in total (if I finish the campaign 4 times - once on each of my PS3 consoles)? 2.) How many hours does WipeOut 2048 co-op campaign take? If I finish Wipeout HD's campaign on Novice, do you think that I could manage it, or would it be too hard for me? I am completely new to WipeOut series and these online WipeOut 2048 trophies are making me nervous a lot. The server closure is near... ? Thanks a lot in advance! And thanks to everyone reading my topic!
Platagonist
HUGE UPDATE!!! I am finally done with all the soon-to-close online grinds (except of KZ3 MP but I don't really mind having not done it after all), so I can finally get back on track! ? I really slowed myself down this month (I went from 6.00 to <3.00 trophies per day ratio), so I decided to postpone all my next big grinds to June and concentrate on finally finishing some games again during the next two months. ? I also did many changes to this Trophy Checklist: 1.) I edited the 'About me' section and I made it shorter, 2.) I added the 'Additional challenges' category and wrote some info about KZ2 VGC grind 3.) I prepared my April - May schedule and put Beach Buggy Racing on hold 4.) And finally, I liked every post in this topic! All your contributions are highly appreciated, guys! I wish you all a nice day and thank everyone for visiting and/or reading my Trophy Checklist! Platagonist
UPDATE: I am back from my break and my current goal will be raising my trophies per day ratio as high as possible. I put my old challenges on hold, came up with a challenge for May and renamed this topic accordingly. ? During the next months I will likely play some games which I am really looking forward to, because I won't be able to concentrate on the online soon-to-close-games grinds, because I am currently back at my parents and there is no place for all the consoles (I will most likely be selling them). However this won't stop me from gaming after all - actually I am sure that I'll manage to come up with some new challenges soon! So stay tuned for my next updates! ? @Zolkovo, @Smashero, @JohzyDeMartin, @Ptirle I really appreciate your PMs and I promise that I will get back to you guys soon! Once again I thank everyone for reading my Trophy Checklist and wish you all a nice day! ?
