Edunstar84
Playing Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana like crazy. I'm trying to plat it before the weekend. I forgot how much content there was because now doing the Nightmare run, some parts of it feel tedious. After the game I'd going to try to go back to the PS3.
Caju_94
So, I completed Horizon Chase Turbo's World Tour and the credits rolled. I'm also progressing with Adventures of Mana (Around 25% of the story) and already halfway the DriveClub Tour (I started yesterday night).
Asvinia
I started up Crimson Shroud on my 3DS and did a few of Haruka's requests in Yakuza. Dreading having to play pool though
gladiatorrrrrrr
I have been stuck in Washington DC, trying to get rid of the black tusk for weeks, so there was not much time to finish any other game. But yesterday I finished Demetrios on the PSVita. Funny game! Strange humor but at least it did put a smile on my face. The 'lick that!' was on the edge but nevertheless made me laugh. Still trying to finish COD Declassified on Veteran, two operations left but this is one of the hardest COD veteran modes ever! No check points just perma death(s)

The game is a real chore with the Suppression and and Interception missions were a fucking chore. I got sick of them fairly quickly. I've been considering getting the Vita version of the game, but I find myself hesitant to do so. If I do get it, though, I intend to go Nightmare Mode from the start. There aren't any areas you get locked out of so as long as I complete all the quests, I should be able to plat it if I chose to do so. A part of me wants to get the Vita version both to double dip and to play it on the go since I don't have a Switch and don't plan to buy one any time soon. I am considering participating in this thread, but it's late at night and I have to get some sleep before going to work. I'll check out this thread in more detail later as I have a massive backlog to get through. I may not necessarily go for the plats on every game on my list, though. Popular Post gladiatorrrrrrr
Knock out the last trophy for BF5, Death from above . Normally I am not so into boosting but it was so hard to get this one via normal play. Those AA guns are not manned a lot. Anyway, a nice new shiny plat, #85. Formally I am not done with the game as I will play BF in the coming months. And it is good to be back on track knocking out these games from the backlog list one-by-one. I dumped a lot of games on 'possible add on' list and will go through them to see if I actually ever want to play them. There are also loads of Plus games on it; I did punt them on it but I doubt if I actually want to play them. Will clean up in the coming week. Popular Post Wise_Mans_Fears
Oh boy, has it been awhile since I've given an update to this thread. And with that span of time, I'm sure I've broken the rules of the point system more than once. But hey, I've beaten and platinum'd a few games since then? Let's get into it! First up, I was in a major slump when it came to gaming, so I decided to go back to my childhood and play one of my all time favorite games: Psychonauts! Difficulty: 3/10 (Meat Circus by itself 8/10, D*** those PS2 controls) Enjoyment: 10/10 (Especially once I found a guide that listed Fragments as they appear in the journal) Time: About 15 Hours Trouble Trophies: I LOVE PUNCHING! (Beat the Punchy mini game) Figgy Piggy (Find all of the fragments, mostly Milla's Dance Party and Waterloo. But there is a great guide I found for this) and I Thought That Was Unbeatable (Beat the Meat Circus, see even they knew) This game brings back so many fond memories, and got my playing games again. And man did I enjoy the heck out of this! If you have never played this game, move it to the top of your to buy list! It's not long, but everything about it is so memorable! To those who have played it: Eh, eh, eh eh, eh, eh. If you get it, you get it. You play as Raz, a boy who runs away from his family to join a summer camp for the ESP inclined to train to become a Psychonaut. The game will have you go through some crazy and insane events. Crazy and insane, you might say "Hey, that's redundant." But no. You will go through both crazy, as in ridiculous, and insane, as in insane, events as you make your way through the game. From solving a conspiracy between girl scouts and a milk man, to destroying a city as Goggle-ore inside of some being. I would say more, but this is just something you need to experience for yourself. Next Up: Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Time: About 12 hours Trouble Trophies: The Super Oberator (Collect 2000 Precursor Orbs) I Got the Blues (Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings) Another great game from my childhood. Jak and Daxter. That's Daxter, not Dexter, don't you forget it! All joking aside, this is one of the first games I remember beating, and the first game I remember playing with my dad. The game progresses really quickly as an adult and the puzzles and challenges I remember requiring the nimblest of fingers, turned out to be extremely easy within a try or two. Just goes to show that even kids that are good at video games, are not really good at video games I guess. You play as wonder due Jak and Daxter, who would have guessed? Daxter was once a regular boy, but fell into a vat of dark eco on an island that the two heroes were forbade against going to. As most protagonists do, they did not listen. Daxter fell in, and out came an orange ferret-esque creature that is Daxter. Your goal is to both transform Daxter back, and stop whoever is developing such large quantities of Dark Eco. As you make your way through the game you meet up with sages of different colors who control their own respective color of Eco that gives you a different power. The game is mostly a puzzle filled collect-athon, but they do a good job of making it enjoyable, and there is a scene at the end of the game for doing it all, so at least you get rewarded? Two more to go! Kingdom Hearts 3! Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 (More on this later) Time: About 60 hours Trouble Trophies: Shield Shredder (600,000 points in Frozen Slider) Festive Dance (70,000 points in Festival Dance) Centurion (12,000,000 points in Verum Rex) Master Chef (Excellent on all recipes) The wait was finally over, Kingdom Hearts 3 was finally in my hands, I got the special edition with the action figures and the special edition PS4 Pro model that they released. All said and done, I spent nearly $700 on Kingdom Hearts 3. And yet, I felt no dying urge to play the game. Why? What had gone wrong? Kingdom Hearts is next to Final Fantasy and Borderlands for my most beloved franchises. This is where the previous two games came in. Having done a Kingdom Hearts platinum on a previous account, I assumed this one would be more involved than it was, so I went with games that needed next to no guide. After finally making it to this game, I give the game play a near perfect score, but the contents as a Kingdom Hearts game a passing at best. Do not let this deter you from giving the game a shot, it's wonderful all the way through! Spoiler But a few of the worlds are just watered down versions of the movie plots the world is based on, one of the worlds is more of a hallway than the first 8 hours of Final Fantasy XIII, and most of the actual story does not show up until near the end of the game. A few major questions are answered, but way more pop up than get answered. Needless to say, it's a Kingdom Hearts game. If you don't know what's going on at this point, I don't have the time to explain it all here ? I loved the experience, but was it worth the 13 some odd year wait? Yes and no. Last game, I'm sure you're ready to be done if you are actually reading this! Borderlands Game of the Year Edition - PS4 Difficulty: 1/10 for Platinum, 3/10 with DLC if you know the easy workaround, 8/10 if you don't Enjoyment: 10/10 Time: 30 to 50 hours, there's no tracker, but it didn't feel like I put that much time into it. Most of the time will come with the 100% Trouble Trophies: Made in New Haven (Completed all missions in Rust Commons, the game alerts you of most new missions. Just go back to the Middle of Nowhere bounty board if you are missing this at the end) United We Stand (Defeat a Vault Piece boss in Co-Op/Multiplayer, it feels like they really amp'd up the co-op difficulty) And They'll Tell of Two Friends (Play a game with 2 others players, can be done in split screen if you have 3 controllers, but the online has been spotty so far) and all Underdome related trophies and collecting trophies in Claptrap Revolution As stated previously, this is one of my most beloved franchises in gaming. I have been questioning why this wasn't on PS4 since before they released the Handsome Jack Collection. Now we have it, it was fantastic, and I couldn't put it down. You play as one of four vault hunters who have been given information about a treasure hidden in some vault on the planet of Pandora. You go through a ridiculous amount of quests to track down the pieces of the key to the vault, but man is it fun shooting s*** in the face. The loot system and co-op make this game much more enjoyable, but like I said, it does seem that the co-op difficulty has been raised. As you play through the game you start to question if you really are the good guy in this story, as you are the one who showed up on this planet and just started killing things to get to what you want. You justify this by the fact that everything is attacking you on sight, but whose to say that's not how things would be if you were in off-worlder in a reality were space travel were a common thing. Needless to say, if you never played the first game in the series, I personally like it the most. (Even though 2 has a better story) And as Crazy Earl would so: What'chu hwant? You'll see this game again when I get around to finishing the DLC. For now, I'm waiting on AC:O DLC to finish releasing, I'm working on Mortal Kombat X as my pick up and put down game, and God of War, Sekiro, and Persona 5 have entered into the games that I thought I was ready to start, but wasn't in the mood for. They are all great games mind you, and I will get back to finishing each of them. All said and done, I believe that is 1 point for Borderlands, 1 and 1/2 points for each Psychonauts, Jak and Daxter, and Kingdom Hearts. Bringing my total points to 8 (?). Subtract 3 for me buying Borderlands GOTY, I'm at 5. I'm probably less than that, so let's just say I'm at 0 points, with 8 earned in total? Sorry for the long post, and possibly not formatting it correctly, I just want to get back to keeping track of this. Will there be a year 2 page started, or will we just keep this one going?

It's long, but it gives me options. I could easily double or triple it with the amount of games I have and haven't beaten or want to play again, but there is no way that is happening anytime soon, so this is where I will start. My main goal on anything without trophies will be completing the story and anything generally seen as a completion goal, such as all moons in Mario Odyssey, all characters added in Suikoden, super bosses beaten in Final Fantasy, etc. With college ending for me this year, hopefully I will actually complete more than a small handful of these this year, because there are a number of games I want coming out later in the year, and I don't want to end up super negative in my points. Happy hunting everyone! Also, Mortal Kombat XL..so frustrating. Well Rounded and Master took me two full sets through every character with a list to actually get the trophies. And of course it popped on the very last character variation. Was I just missing that one the whole time? Was it bugged after my first time through the list? Either way, that's almost 150 complete matches, and man was it frustrating to go through. Still got a handful of things to do, it's going to be a ride. I don't know about Overcooked, though I've always been interested in picking up the game. I will probably do What Remains of Edith Finch. I've been interested in it, but never bought it, partially due to the lack of a Platinum, also partially that I never saw it on a good enough sale for a 2 hour game. Overcooked looks to be 6-10 hours to 100% and might prove to be a little challenging. Nothing so difficult a bit a practice can't get it done. With summer break coming up, it's very possible I knock both of these out.
BlazzingWind
Sorry I've been lurking for so long since my last post. Haven't really felt like playing, but I finally have two games close to platinum and hopefully with my day off tomorrow, I can finish one of them tonight. Also, I second what was said above. WRoEF I have been keeping an eye on as it looks really interesting but I never had a good enough reason to grab it. As for Overcooked, I have no idea what this game is, but free is free

BlazzingWind
Sixth Game Beaten: Yooka-Laylee, the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie on the N64. This game tries very hard to appeal to those that played the original two games while also trying to set itself apart with its own style and characters. It both does and doesn't do this. Yooka-Laylee has some big worlds, but they feel pretty empty. The enemies are all the 'samey' feel and there isn't much to the story. A book that Laylee just happened to have is suddenly taken away and appears magical, cue epic quest. Now Banjo-Kazooie did not have that great of a storyline either, but at least they were trying to save his sister in the first game. The characters here just felt flat and one-dimensional, and the challenges were hampered by wonky controls and bad camera. I am really really thankful to have gotten something like this game after playing both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie on the N64 but this game just makes me want to go back and play through the original games again. I feel like Yooka-Laylee, in trying to instill that same feel from the previous games, it lost itself. Instead of being an entirely new game set in a similar world and setting, it became a lifeless fanboy of its predecessor. I have high hopes if we get a sequel as Playtonic seems to be responsive to the criticism and suggestions they have gotten over the game, but at the end of the day I would give this game a low 6/10 and wish that I could score it higher. (whoot, back in the true positives with points) Stats for the Event - 2019 Total Game Points: 1 Games Platinumed/100%: 6 Games Bought: 0 Total Games Beaten During Event 2018 - 2019: 40
BlazzingWind
Seventh game defeated 2064: Read Only Memories It is hard to classify this game, as it is not a 'puzzle' game or a 'visual novel' either, not really. Though it does have certain elements of both. Anyways, the year is 2064 and in this future personal robots (called ROMS) can be bought and purchased by anyone. And though they have certain algorithms designed to make them seem human, they are just 'mindless' machines. At the same time (for some reason) gene-splicing has been going on and there are animal/human hybrids which of course brings up the question of 'what is humanity?'. There are two groups, the Human Revolution (which believes humans must remain human) and the Hybrids (forget the name right now) fighting it out over 'Human rights'. Into this scene a new type of Robot has been created that is self-aware. That hard to describe backstory is never really touched on in the game, and besides one scene, nothing happens between the two groups. But that seems to be the way of the story. Speaking of the story, there are four endings, with a kind of fifth joke ending. None of the endings really felt satisfying for what the game seemed to be going for. It touches and dances around ethical questions and problems without really taking one side or another. And the endings seem half-thought 'best case scenarios' with the outcome being decided by how much of an assholes you play as. I can't really recommend the game, as two trophies 'Threat Neutralized' and 'Cardinal of Combat' use the wonky shooting controls that make the challenge needlessly difficult. I would give this game a low 4/10, the music is the only good part. A convoluted story thrown together with high reaching ideas just made this game crash and burn big time in my opinion. Stats for the Event - 2019 Total Game Points: 2 Games Platinumed/100%: 7 Games Bought: 0 Total Games Beaten During Event 2018 - 2019: 41
