Β

The next title in the Call of Duty franchise will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4! Treyarch is set to revolutionize the top-selling series in Call of Duty history when it launches worldwide on Friday, October 12, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Β

Black Ops 4 will not feature a traditional campaign, but rather solo missions featuring both returning and new Specialist characters. These missions would not only serve as a place to learn tactics with the different SpecialistsΒ but also learn the Specialist characters’ backstories. These stories take place between Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3.

Β

Zombies mode is getting three maps at launch, difficulty levels, tutorials, custom modes, and much more, Treyarch announced at the Black Ops 4 reveal event. Three maps were revealed featuring four new characters in wildly different settings.

Β

Zombies will also have tutorials, difficulty levels, a custom mode with over 100 options, and online challenges called Callings. More information on Black Ops 4's Zombies mode will be revealed later this summer.

Β

Black Ops 4 will feature it's own Battle Royale called Blackout. This new mode will be available at launch and features a map 1,500 times bigger than Nuketown. Blackout brings the Black Ops universe together by integrating parts of different multiplayer maps into its own and playable characters from all Black Ops games, including Zombies characters.

Β

No gameplay was shown at the reveal event about Blackout, but there will be sea, land, and air vehicles available in some capacity. Blackout challenges players to be the last person standing in an unspecified number of players, and they’ll have weapons and tools from Black Ops multiplayer and Zombies.

Black Ops 4 is in development at Treyarch, the Activision studio behind the three other Black Ops games, and as you'd expect is due for launch late in the year.

COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.

I know a lot of people had a problem with the wall running, jet pack movement, etc in Black Ops 3, but me personally, I love it. I like the diversity it brings to playing online. But back on topic, this should be good. Will reserve judgement until after this years E3, and going into August up until November (when COD's usually released).Β

To be fair they should really come up with something different.. Continuing with Black Ops is like beating a dead horse at this point :/Β

Β

Not with the sales they got for BO3 it isn't, they'd be crazy to not go with it. The game itself sold like hot cakes and then it made several billion dollars off of COD points microtransaction sales alone.

Not to pick on the OP if it's a mistake, but I feel like I've seen people using "IIII" in a couple different places now.

Β

Wouldn't it be IV ?

I would of thought the same thing to. But the cover photo for the game shows a IIII instead of a IV.Β

IIII is acceptable, and you will see this on many clocks that use Roman numerals.

Don't be silly, that would mean they would have to actually think of something different instead of changing the title and slapping aΒ "brand new!" sticker to the font of the case.

Strange how its coming out in October. Every Call of Duty game prior to this one has been released in November. Ether way i'm excited, as long as they don't bring back that jetpacking crap than i'll be all in with getting this.

Β

To get the drop on Red Dead Redemption 2 is my guess, which is releasing on October 26

Apparently it'll be boots on the ground, so thereΒ probably won't beΒ any of the wall running and jetpacking junk. In terms of multiplayer, I hope it's more along the lines of BO1 because I hate BO2 and 3's multiplayer. In terms of the campaign, Treyarch is relatively consistent at making an interesting story and characters, but I found BO3 to go a little too overboard. They should focus on keeping it a little more grounded like the original. As for zombies, I'm not worried at all.
