Maybe Gex or Croc?

Both where big while I was young, but seemed to have faded into obscurity.

They don’t own those IPs though, like they do with Spyro and Crash. And Activision doesn’t have a vast IP well to draw from in that era, especially IP with vast appeal like these two mascot platformers. Tony Hawk is maybe their biggest option, but they already bungled that with a miserable HD remake and an equally miserable throwback sequel.

From my understanding, the rights to Croc are held by one of its original developers, while Square Enix owns Gex.

They actually don't hold the Tony Hawk license anymore. The reason why Pro Skater 5 was such a slapdashed job was actually because they were rushing to get one last game out the door before their contract expired.

Now this is one heck of a birthday present.

I guess I should thank the universe.

I'm not really concerned it'll be 'bad', just think VV are better developers. TfB is solid enough to handle this. Them having passionate fans helps too.

What games have TfB done?

Nothing particularly notable other than 4 of the 6 Skylanders games (Spyro's Adventure, Giants, Trap Team, and Imaginators). Other than that, most of what they've done since the turn of the century has been licensed Disney games.

Yes S-E owns Gex but they offered it to devs under Square Enix Collective, just like Fear Effect and Anachronox. So far only Fear Effect has been used, twice.

Couldn't preorder fast enough, seems I'm not alone as this skyrocketted to the top of Amazon's best seller list (much like Crash did) from pre-orders the moment it showed up.

I really hope the disc comes with preorder avatar/theme too. Not fair that digital should only get it. :(

These would be the toughest for me.

Especially as in Spyro 2 I never beat the turtle soup, Scorch flag, and Agent Zero missions. Not sure if I ever rounded up all those animals in Zephyr either.

What? I've completed Gex 3(which was had a smutty ending with some live action because an actress played a role in it as some Bond girl like character since Gex was playing a James Bond ripoff) and played a little Gex 2, but didn't really like the gameplay much. Didn't know one of my favorite RPG companies had the rights to the crazy gecko. :D

I assume they'll do the same thing they did for the Ratchet & Clank trilogy on PS3/PS Vita = one gold trophy if you acquire all skill points in a game.

I don't remember Spyro 2's skill points but I remember YotD's mostly.

I never got into Spyro as a kid, but this looks like a really good remaster and the perfect chance for me to jump into this franchise.

All my other games will have to sit and wait for a long while when Spyro returns, I will be glued to his collection the only time I will stop playing it will be for food/drink, when nature calls and sleep (if I get any lol)

Not sure if anyone's seen this yet, but 20 seconds of gameplay in Stone Hills.  Can you hear the shaking dragon? :D
