Demontower- accidentally killed NPC on 3rd appearance?

Hi there-  I'm not sure anyone will have the answer to this, but I've been playing the horrifically awful minigame that is demontower and accidentally killed the NPC the third time he showed up, so as I understand it he will not show up again. 

I already have the first 3 pieces of the code, so is there any reason I can't guess the fourth and still get the trophy, or is the trophy nil upon killing the NPC?  I'm only on level 6 and hate this minigame with a vengeance.  I don't want to have to play through the whole thing twice.

update:

For any others who may come along and read this, it is entirely possible to still get the trophy if you accidentally kill the NPC.  It just involves guesswork.
