Melanogaster1987
Just some more detailed stats and a quick roundup of my progress since KYC5 before I begin my first game of this event: Statistics at start of KYC6 Completion rate: 54.46% [Up 0.90% since end of KYC5] Completion rate (including games at 0%): 29.65% Trophies earned: 2,544 (20, 149, 463, 1,912) for 59,580 points Unearned trophies: 1,855 Unearned trophies (including games at 0% & DLC trophies): 6,234 Average rarity of earned trophies: 45.53% Games on profile: 209 Games with at least one trophy earned: 106 Possible trophies that can be earned during this event: 347 (8, 31, 82, 226) for 10,080 points (plus Q.U.B.E 2's trophies, still to be announced). Progress with my KYC5 games But before I begin my games for this event, what progress have I made with my KYC5 games over the last 3 months? Perhaps not as much as I should have done - my completion rate has only recovered by a measly 0.90%. I have put a fair amount of time into Crash Bandicoot and Sly 3 recently instead, also, I'm still playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 every day (even though I had the platinum a year and a half ago, I want all the gold course pins... a hundreds upon hundreds of hours long grind, and there won't even be a trophy to show for it if and when I do finish it??? Yes, I'm off my rocker!). Still yet to return to 6 of my 10 KYC5 games, but here's how things stand with the other 4: Pinball Arcade (At end of KYC5, was 12% complete. Now 7% complete(?!)) No, that's not a typo - they finally released trophies for the season 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 DLC packs. Tried a few more tables out - Scared Stiff, Black Rose, F-14 Tomcat and Big Shot have become real favourites; Pin*Bot and White Water not so much. New DLC tables and a new patch have been recently released after a year-long hiatus, and more patches are on the way - they're making an already excellent simulation even better; keep up the good work, FarSight! Ratchet & Clank (At end of KYC5, was 50% complete. Now 100% complete & earned!) At long last I've platted a KYC game! My 20th platinum trophy overall. Grinding for the million bolts trophy got a bit tedious (had everything else done after 2 and a bit playthroughs, but took almost another 2 playthroughs on top of that before the plat finally popped). Despite showing a few signs of age, the original R&C still holds up today, more than 15 years after release. Deus Ex: Human Revolution (At end of KYC5, was 11% complete. Now 52% complete) Completed my first playthrough and it was an enjoyable experience overall. The boss fights were pretty mediocre, and the story got a bit too complicated for me to properly follow at times, but everything else was great. Definitely worth giving this another play some time, especially as I missed out on some of the side missions. Knack (At end of KYC5, was 11% complete. Now 32% complete) Finished one playthrough and tried some of the challenges. A decent amount of fun and a decent amount of difficulty too, but, like some of you guys, I'm not looking forward to grinding out the missing gems - I have found just one diamond so far. I would like to try out the hardest difficulty, but having to start over with collecting stuff is putting me off at the moment - maybe I can back up my current save file to avoid losing progress?
Oobedoob S Benubi
@Kevvik have fun on The Talos Principle, I loved hat game! @Hemiak if you're in doubt between Horizon Zero Dawn and The Witcher; The Witcher benefits from a longer playtime while you could churn out the stoey (and possibly platinum) of Horizon Zero Dawn in one good weekend. Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Game #1: Knack First dayTotal playtime: about thirty minutes Seeing as I've heard mixed things about this game, I was wondering if the people curious about my opinion wanted to see if I liked it or if I got super annoyed. Nontheless, just about everyone replying to my list mentioned Knack, so here we go... The game started right away with asking if I wanted high definition or high frame rate. Frame rate, please, no contest. The intro scene starts in a real schizo tech setting. Castles, orcs/ogres, bows, tanks, scientists... Also right away, I wonder if Viktor is a bad guy... Sigh. Can't we have subtle villains any more? Okay, so I guess I'm not really part of the game's main target audience; it seems aimed towards kids and young adults. I guess I'll just turn off my brain and see if I enjoy the game. Don't know if I will, it's much less Katamari-platformy than I thought, and more slow-tempo beat-em-up.

Popular Post CJ_Mystery
Here's my progress report for Day 1. Week 1, Day 1: Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories Okay Kent, don't ever tell me again that I can't keep my promises. Anyways, before anything, I know I will have to run the full-motion movie of 358/2 Days to unlock the Organization XIII cards to get 100% card collection for Sora. Why they put you through this since they removed the trophy lists for the movies is beyond me. The Organization XIII cards should have not been included in the card collection, but whatever. I'll suffer through it. I'll just turn the TV off and leave it on overnight to get it over with. I am probably going to hang around B1 and farm cards until I get the rest of the enemy card drops before taking on the bosses(yes, you fight a tough boss after entering B2 who gives you the Fire spell). I already collected Shadow and Soldier and just need Red Nocture and Blue Rhapsody. I am playing through Proud mode for both Sora and Riku since I'm platinuming the PS4 version which stacks its difficulty trophies, so I don't need to do Beginner and there are no optional bosses you have to fight. Probably the only game I can get all of the trophies without needing Beginner mode because Proud Mode on this game isn't as punishing if you know how to upgrade your character enough, and I'll need to max Sora and Riku's levels anyways. (Unfortunately, I voided the Undefeated trophy because I forgot they had it and I used a Continue when I failed to get Tightrope Walker and got wasted by a Heartless. I'll try to remember not to use a Continue on Riku's story.) Trophy Completion: 0% => 6% Trophies Earned: Ace Striker, Tightrope Walker, Novice Deck Builder, Expert Deck Builder Time Spent: 3 hours, 6 minutes 2 minutes ago, MidnightDragon said: Do you do the reviews daily, at the end of each gameplay period, or does it really matter? Edward_FOX_86
What's going On ?! I've played some Street Fighter vs Tekken but forgot to post my stats so here they are (ish) ^^ 261 Games played (265 counting the KYC games) Completion about 28% ( I think before SFVT it was 28,14%) 3184 trophies earned I'll do the review at the end of my play time dedicated for each game but I'll probably write something down like quick notes or opinions (no spoilers involved I hope ) So for Street Fighter a quick note I prefer the way it looks on the Vita rather than on the Ps3. It seems kind of strange the layout of the characters. As for gameplay its a nice variation from the traditional style of capcom's street fighter with the Ultra and Super Combos. Cheers ^^ Edited March 1, 2018 by Edward_FOX_86
Popular Post Metal Slime King
inFamous: Festival of Blood (Rating: ) I've got a little bit of history with the inFamous series. Namely, I started the first one and First Light and both times quickly lost interest and stopped playing. I haven't really had any luck with open world, sandbox type games. I think I get too distracted with the collectibles and the miscellaneous events up front and lose track of what I'm supposed to be doing. I was hoping this smaller title could put me on track and so far I've been having a lot of fun with it. i:FoB is a smaller, stand alone dlc type game based off of inFamous 2 I believe. It's a third person open world action game, like the rest of the series. Your character is an electrical powered super-human who has also been bitten by a vampire and has one night to terminate her or he'll be a vampire forever. She's too powerful to confront directly so the story of the game is figuring out some other way to attack her. You can actually confront her at any time (she's on the map, doing her thing) and she'll just smack you around a bit. The flight mechanic works really well for quickly getting around the map and the radar makes collectible hunting fairly painless. I've just been zipping around, collecting urns of blood and flying away from any lesser vampires that get agro'ed. There's not much point fighting the guys in the open world once you've got all the combat related trophies. So I played through the story missions and then the game puts you in free roam and I picked up the remainder of the trophies. Two trophies, one for unlocking all skills and another for 20 user generated missions are only available after finishing the story when user generated missions are made available. The main story incorporates two missions that the devs made with the user mission creation tool, presumably to show it's capabilities and they fit in well with the rest of the story. I'd say the user creation tool is nowhere near as sophisticated as in Little Big Planet but way more adaptable than the one in Dante's Inferno: Trials of St. Lucia. User levels show up as green blips on the map or they can be searched for directly from the menu. If user levels aren't your thing (ya, they usually suck) you can blow through the required 20 levels quickly by searching "trophy" or "share" (part of the trophy name) or something similar. The story was good, it was funny and didn't take itself very seriously. There was no branching moral arc to worry about. The graphics and sound were ok, they never really jumped out at me for better or worse and it is a PS3 game from 2011. I never had any problems moving around or attacking enemies, the combat was good and I didn't experience any glitches. Admittedly it's a short game which isn't always a bad thing depending on what you pay for it. I got it from a coupon included in a used copy of inFamous 1 & 2 collection so I was lucky to get it at all. I would definitely recommend it though. Completion: (14 out of 14 trophies) 100%, no Plat. Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #1: Rime (Day 1) So let's get started with my first game. I won't write to much for the first three days so that I don't spoil @Kevvik and @PerryToxteth to much. Rime plays like an exploration/puzzle solving adventure game. I guess I would compar it with something like The Witness or The Talos Principle. The game starts with you waking up on a beach. From there on you can walk around the island and explore your surroundings. Your goal is to get to four statues whose locations are indicated by blue beams towards the sky. While exploring you can find different collectibles on pedestals. I don't think they have any use in the game except for the costumes. Eventually you meet a fox and follow him towards a tower. To reach your goal you have to solve some puzzles, which are pretty easy so far. Nontheless are the puzzles unique for me as I haven't seen such puzzles in other game. I can't say anything about the story yet. No clue why we stranded on the beach or why we follow the fox. It's more cryptic than Dark Souls's story. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #1 - Day #2 - First Impression Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier Time played: 5-6 hours Trophies earned: 27/36 A bit early for the 2nd update, but technically it's already day #2 for me. Considering I beat the game twice now, I might as well say something about it. First thing I noticed was a 23GB patch for an 18GB base game. I'm always somewhat suspect when an update/patch is larger than the actual game file. The second thing that became obvious, was that the game is a lot less interactive than I thought it would be. To the point, where it resembles more games like Late Shift or The Bunker (without the FMV being a thing). Essentially all you do is pick the choice (left or right) in each dialogue. The game looks alright overall. The facial animations are pretty good, but some of the other animations are very odd at times. There's also the occasional stuttering and sometimes the lip sync is off. What bothered me most is the scene transition, which is almost never smooth. Instead it just cuts off abruptly to the next scene. All I will say about the story, is that it was entirely predictable. It's also way shorter than I had anticipated. Popular Post Kevvik
...and so it begins... Game #1: Catlateral Damage Initial Impressions Time played: 2.5 hrs Catlateral Damage is essentially a simulator. One where you play a cat who, for uncertain reasons, is annoyed with its humans and decides to trash the current building, but a cat simulator nonetheless. That said, this is a cute game. Thus, trashing said place involves knocking everything on the floor (for points) and does not include other things that cats do IRL when they are pissed at you and decide that every bodily function is a weapon. Still, knocking everything down is a fun mechanic. It plays 1st person (cat) and you run around, jumping on desks, counters, bookshelves, beds and pretty much any piece of household furniture you can think of to make a mess. You can physically run things over, swat them with either paw or push things with your paws (this mechanic is a little weak). You can also grab some items with your paws and toss them a bit, though some objects, like glass bottles, are not clutchable. This is more fun than you would think at first description and after 2.5 hrs, it hasn't gotten old for me yet. A variety of settings besides increasingly complicated homes are other buildings like hotel rooms, museums, grocery stores which give unique objects for you to knock around. There are are two play modes. Objective mode, which gives you a certain number of things to knock over in a certain time and Litterbox mode, which is essentially a free play mode. Just trash everything. You can also get power ups to boost your swat, jump and speed. These help in later objective levels to do damage faster. Also important to note is that items must hit the floor to s ore points. Knocking books off a shelf only to have them land on a desk or bed will not net you the points you need, requiring to then knock them from their new resting place to the floor. Power ups are gained by finding shining cat toys to play with and then breaking open the present box which appears. There are also random events which occur such as chasing a red dot from a laser pointer, catching mice and trying to play in blackout and disco conditions to name a few. These are cute (there's that word again) additions which, thus far, add to the fun. The graphics are serviceable for this kind of game but nothing special. It does maintain that sort of adorable, oh-isn't-that-cute look which works well with the atmosphere of the game. The music is mostly forgettable muzak style. I think I've done the majority of the non-grindy trophies and have only grindy ones left plus a time trial. I'm enjoying this but the grind, though it doesn't appear to be exceptionally long at first glance, will be a test to the game's durability. Still, I'm having fun and considering I paid like $5 for it, it's been a worthwhile purchase. Trophies earned: 19/33, 43% for C rank Score thus far: 6/10 Edited March 2, 2018 by Kevvik
Popular Post Jaguargenie
Game 1 Initial Impressions I'm not good at shooters. I played the Old Blood (the standalone doc for this) and it was ok, but I was terrible at it. I was hoping for a good story and decent shooter mechanics. I'm having a blast! I've played about an hour and only got through chapter 1 so far. But the controls are tight, the levels are well designed and detailed and it's just fun. Killing Nazis, no matter the situation is always fun. The main antagonist gets introduced near the end of chapter 1 and is appropriately detestable in true Nazi fashion. The difficulty seems much more manageable than OB and doesn't have spikes that make it feel really unfair. The trophies are also really pretty easy. They pop just by playing and killing Nazis in certain ways (headshots, stealth, etc) Can't wait to play more. This one seems to be a winner so far! Oobedoob S Benubi
@MarkusT1992, @Kevvik, @PerryToxteth, have fun with Rime. I thought it was pretty neat, though a bit too "we're artsy, can't you tell?" in the end to my taste. I'd probably have given it a score, or a bit higher or lower if I was respectively feeling generous or picky. 6 hours ago, MidnightDragon said: Do you do the reviews daily, at the end of each gameplay period, or does it really matter? 6 hours ago, MidnightDragon said: Probably will do it at the end for my first game since I doubt it'll take the full six days, then go from there. Popular Post Myu
FFXII is the only FF I've never played. I had just become a student at the time, money was tight and gaming time was close to nonexistant. I don't know anything about the plot, I only know about Balthier and Fran because they looked pretty cool and gave a more « mature » vibe compared to FFX. I'm pretty excited to meet them in the game and see what they are really like. As usual, the game starts with a lengthy intro and I watched the game more than I played it yesterday. Basically, there's a royal wedding, a war, a young prince is killed on the battlefield, death everywhere, betrayal and the kindgom is overtaken by the enemy. The music is beautiful and I appreciate the possibility of choosing Japanese voices. You quickly learn how to move your character. The camera seems a bit wonky at times. Let's hope it doesn't trigger motion sickness after a while. I tried a few battles too and the game is very different from its predecessor. You can move around freely, select which enemy you want to target and just put your character in front of him to make him attack. And that's it. You're not even the one to push the X button to attack, you just select and let your character do the rest. I find it a bit boring to be honest and I also don't like the fact that you can't parry. My character was taking damage that could have been easily avoided. I hope the battle system evolves because I'm not really happy with it at the moment. The story takes place in Ivalice, same as FF Tactics Advance and I get hit by nostalgia waves every time I see a Vangaa or a Viera. I love it ! I met Vaan who seems to be the main character. Vaan is an orphan running errands and stealing things to survive. He has a girl-friend named Penelo who enjoys scolding him apparently. I somehow don't like Vaan's face. Something seems wrong with it. I had time to explore the city a little bit and get my first task : I have to beat a tomato monster in the desert to get the supplies back in time for the huge event that is happening in the city. I also learned about « licenses » you have to buy in order to equip different pieces of equipment which means that even if you find good gear, you can't put it on until you buy the ability to use it. Seems both interesting and unnecessary at the same time. Got only one trophy so far :

It's usually not obvious, as in this case it didn't refer to a "patch" download. It's a digital game, that in the store has a file size of 18GB. When you download it though it gives you a 41GB file listed plainly as file size for installation. You'd often never realise that there was a patch at all, unless you check the info on the game's page. Another game that had a bigger patch than the actual game was Tony Hawk 5. Popular Post DamagingRob
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness- Day 1 Well, I don't know why this entry has received such negative reviews yet. Played it for 5 and a half hours yesterday, and I'm having a great time. You play as Fidel Camuze, a young swordsman who protects his village from danger. With bandit attacks on the village getting worse, he sets off to request reinforcements from the king, with his childhood friend, Miki, in tow. Because, you know, got to have someone that can heal you. Along the way, you fight a really big version of an enemy you've faced in encounters on the map. And another swordsman joins the fight. After the boss fight, he is revealed to be a disciple of your father, and a member of the Central Resulian military. Victor then accompanies you on your trip to the capital. In the second town, you can meet Welch! Welch is a recurring character in the Star Ocean series. Voiced by Neptune's English VA this time. Love it. She's hilarious. You also find and meet Fiore, a signeturgy researcher (and wears some outfit), and learn Victor is tasked with escorting her to the capital too. Our party of four, now, departs for the capital. Arriving in the capital, you head for the castle. But you never get to speak to the king. Daril, Fedil's dad (who acts like an ass), says they can't spare any troops right now. A war is raging, and they need all the troops they have. So, Fidel and Miki are forced to return empty handed.. But on their return home, they see a spaceship crash. Going to investigate, they find a young girl emerging from the wreckage. Along with two men, demanding they hand her over. Naturally, it's fighting time. The men wield weapons the likes of which Fidel and Miki have never seen before. And were prepared to shoot Miki when the girl screams and unleashes some strange power that freezes the men in place. Fidel and Miki take the girl with them to their village, which had been attacked again. Things weren't looking good, as most people who could fight were now injured. But when Fidel goes to see the mayor the following morning and tell him there would be no reinforcements, he finds Victor and his unit in the mayor's office. Guess your dad's not so terrible, after all. With Victor's help, you wipe out the bandits at their hideout, and save the village. And the girl you brought back has awoken! But other than her name, Relia, she remembers nothing.. The only clue to her origin, is the signet on her forehead. Since Fiore is an expert on signeturgy, returning with Victor to the capital to see her is our next destination. Holy crap, that's a lot of text for just "the story so far." ^^' Really didn't expect that from such a short time played (and a lot of it was spent fighting enemies/working on some battle trophies). Gameplay is really seemless. Random encounters aren't so random. You can see just what you'll be fighting on the field, and the fight just starts when you get close. No loading screens or anything. Most cutscenes are also like this. You can move around and rotate the camera while they're going on. I spent quite a bit of time fighting for battle trophies/leveling up, which involve doing various things in fights. Finishing with a certain character a number of times, taking no damage, guarding a number of attacks in a row, etc. Battle system is really fun to me. Attack with X and O, holding them down will initiate a special attack consuming some MP. You can block with square, and blocking at the right time can lead to a counterattack. It's kind of like rock, paper, scissors, as O is your heavy attack and breaks an enemy's guard, while X is your light attack and will not. Eventually, you'll be able to do Reverse Rushes. These are super powerful attacks, that can only be used when the bar fills up enough from fighting. If a fight isn't looking good, you can escape by running to the edge of the battle circle. And you can use various items to heal and whatnot. In towns, you can accept quests, stay at an inn (which seems to be the only way to heal, other than using items), shop for new equipment or items, and watch Private Actions. Private Actions are extra scenes that boost your affinity with party members (affecting what ending you get), and are sometimes marked by a whistle icon on the map. There's also item creation, item harvest points, roles and abilities to spend your skill points on, and more. Just too damn much to cover in the game. Lol. Hopefully, it stays this good throughout the course of my playthrough(s). If so, I will be extremely pleased with this one. Time played: 5 and a half hours. Trophy progress: 5/41 for 7% and a D rank. CJ_Mystery
Wow, the way you summarized everything about this game is tempting me to buy it. I have completed Star Ocean 2 on the original PS1 and Star Ocean 3 on the PS2, but this is new.
Popular Post Hemiak
Game 1: Downwell 3.5ish hours played. 10/23 trophies Downwell was a game I was interested in checking out, and then good old ps+ came through for me. I've been looking forward to starting it but kept putting it off. After I got challenged off site to a plat race this was one of the games we decided to play. I started yesterday morning, played 45 min, another 2 hours last night, and another 45 min this morning. The story is simple. You're a boy, with gun boots, maybe Bayonetta's son? You get up off a park bench, walk over to a well, and jump in. Why? Maybe recklessness, childish rebellion, or just for the lullz. This isn't the slightest bit cleared up during the amount of time I've played, maybe once I finally clear it. The game play is very simple. The D-pad or analog stick let you move left or right, X jumps, fires your boots, interacts with the shop keeper, or confirms your upgrades. That's it. You start with 4 health and can either buy refills and upgrades, or earn more if you have the right upgrades. You can choose one upgrade after completing each level, and they're random. I won't get into them all but some are great, a few are pretty weak, and most of them are useable. On the way down you encounter lots of enemies, platforms (both permanent and destructible), side caves, and breakable objects. Later areas have additional traps or mechanics that increase the difficulty. The game is broken up into four areas with three levels apiece. Each area has different enemies, and each level becomes more dense with enemies and hazards. Almost all the enemies can be killed either by shooting them or Mario Bros curb stomping them. Some enemies are bright red and will hurt you if you try to stomp them. Turtles have a shell and your bullets just bounce off, so they have to be stomped. Every enemy killed or item broken releases gems you can use as currency. Picking up 100 in a short time causes Gem High which makes your guns more powerful, it also continues as long as you keep getting gems regularly. Killing enemies without touching the ground grants a combo. There are trophies for 10, 30, and 100 combos. Shooting your guns causes you to float in the air and use a charge, but landing on an enemy or destructible item refills your ammo and keeps the combo alive. You get gems and/or permanent upgrades when you complete a combo of 8, 15 of 25, so it pays to go for them, literally. The combo ends the first time you touch a platform or ledge. I've reached the 4th area and was probably 75% of the way through 4-3 today. That run took just over 18 minutes and I was really playing slowly and carefully, so the game can probably be done in like 5 min if you're good and fast. One thing, this game is UGLY. It looks like it was on the original Gameboy, which doesn't bother me but will probably turn off some people. The sound is pretty minimal, 8-bit noises for sound effects and very minimal back ground music. I've spent 3.5 hours or so with the game and I'm really enjoying it. I'll dig into the weapons and upgrades more on the final review.
Popular Post PerryToxteth
Game No. 1 Watch Dogs 2 First Impressions: I did say I loved the first Watch Dogs, didn't I? Well, two hours into 2 and I feel like . Truth be told, it always takes me a few hours to warm up to games. I loved Far Cry 3, but it took me several missions in FC4 before I fully bought in. I think Voodoo wasn't feeling this game early on as well, in a prior KYC. So far, I completed the tutorial mission and a few early missions. Ubisoft is usually pretty good at keeping the training wheels on before letting you go on your own, but there is so much thrown at you involving your in-game phone, I'm just not sure what all my abilities are just yet. Also, the game encourages you to search your surroundings in some hacking/ digital view format. It grays everything out and kinda highlights enemies. This is precisely why I didn't care for Far Cry Primal because so much of the time was spent playing with a filter on, and in that game, it was in an odd fluorescent, highlighter yellow view. No thanks. Then, my first mission is to find a pair of pants. What?? Yep, I'm running around in the open world of San Francisco in my skivvies. Better yet, once you find a clothing store and purchase a pair of trousers, you earn a trophy. Once you get to your headquarters, you meet your team of oddballs. A sassy-lipped chick, an autistic kid who's a whiz with computers, and some shitbrick with an electronic mask on. His eyes are LED panels, and his mouth is covered with a muffle-like thing that digitizes his voice. Yet you see him with a beer bottle in his hand. How is he supposed to drink that, Ubi??? Then there's the smartphone element. Your character has one in-game, and you need to download apps and such. I hate spending time on my phone in real life, and now Ubi wants me to do it in-game and gain "followers." This just might be way too millennial for me...

When the PS4 version was released I bought it immediatly but haven't started it yet. Have fun with this game. It's my favourite FF game.

I ended up enjoying the game because of the gameplay and the type of missions that you end up getting. The collectibles bs being mostly optinal was also refreshing. PS: Got the plat in Planet of the Apes, so on "day 4" I'll have a sort of filler update planned.
