Popular Post MidnightDragon
Taking tomorrow off, so here's my review for my second game. This isn't the best TMNT game I've ever played, but also far from the worst. Basically it involves you doing missions and then fighting a boss at the end of the level. There are also collectibles: the first 50 covers of the IDW comic series, which this game is based on. Though they had one of the comic writers help make the story, it didn't really seem to be that much. It had the potential to be something greater. That being said, it's not a terrible game. In solo mode, you can switch between the four turtles at will. All four are on the screen at the same time whether you play online co-op or solo. You can play all the levels alone or in online co-op. If you play solo, AI takes over the other three and it's a mixed bag. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes it completely sucks. You will have to do missions repeatedly to get all the trophies, but there is RNG involved with some. For example, I've seen all the missions at least once except the ATM missions, though I hear they have the lowest spawn rate. The fact they didn't add couch co-op was a missed opportunity. This game is definitely more fun if you play with others. There's also some online trophies that require some boosting. Hoping to take care of that this coming weekend. You'll probably get sick of April's voice very quickly since she will NOT shut up and the fact you have to repeat levels a lot to get the plat. One thing I don't get is how there isn't music from any of the TV shows in this, either, since it is a licensed game. Oh, well. Despite my complaints, I have been enjoying it for the most part.
CJ_Mystery
Period 2, Day 5: Only got one trophy today because I finished up Chapter 2 on Sly 3 and did the challenges, which I failed every one at least once. Looks like the final day will be spent in Chapter 3, much to my chagrin. Oh well at least I am at 24% completion. Daylight Savings Time is on and really messed up my sleep sched. Popular Post ladynadiad
Progress so far: Chapter 4, second free time. Trophies earned: 10 out of 47 (E rank) Well, I seem to be three for three for fun games and this one was totally an impulse buy that just happened to look fun. I've been enjoying this game a lot so far. You play as a character named Hinako who is a former ballet dancer who had to quit dancing because of a leg injury. She's finally returning to school after having quit and is pretty down in the dumps about it all. And then upon first meeting a student she's tossed into a strange place with a demon attacking her and then she hears a voice telling her how to fight it. And on top of that, her injury isn't a problem, she can move and dance as she wants. At the end of it, she is successful and finds out she's a Reflector, which is basically a magical girl that travels to a realm that is a collective subconscious called the Common. What happened earlier was that a girl's emotions went rampant and out of control because of demons and then she's told she needs to help fight them so they won't destroy the world. And then she's also told if they are successful she'll get one wish for anything she wants. Yeah, of course she's willing to join up then, because being able to get her wish means she can dance again when the doctors have told her that her leg will never heal. All in all, it's an interesting concept to have the protagonist be someone like this. While there is the threat of the demons, the demons themselves are evil and not given much in the way of a reason for being such. The focus of the story is more on personal conflicts and the relationships between people. In this game, you don't get stronger by fighting monsters, you get stronger by completing missions, making friends, and deepening your bonds with your friends. Pretty much most of the game is based on completing missions which can range from talking to someone, visiting a location, or helping someone who has gone rampant. And not all the people who go rampant can have their issues resolved by fighting demons. Sometimes the condition is to search the Common for items. You also can hang out with friends which nets you scenes and some of those increase stats or give growth points that allow you to level up. It's a pretty fun game so far, but definitely a bit too easy. Your HP and MP is healed every fight and outside of boss battles, there isn't a consequence for losing a fight. You just get tossed back to school and can try again. With boss battles you do get a game over, but since those are pretty obvious, you can always save before them. Most of the trophies aren't missable, and even the ones that are just are a matter of finish them before turning in your quests in chapter 10. However, the game is fun to play and reasonably addictive. I played it for quite a few hours straight today and time just flew. Games played: 91 Games completed: 75 Completion: 86.55% (-2.32%) Unearned Trophies: 349 Trophies for this event: 49/270 There's an extra game played in there because I got Sparkle 2 for my Vita real cheap in the flash sale and started that because I know it's a reasonably easy 100%. I intended on not syncing trophies until I earned a trophy in either Exist Archive or Tokyo Xanadu, but for some reason despite me not syncing my trophies on the Vita one showed up when I went to sync Blue Reflection's trophies.

Blue Reflection's probably a game I'll look into in my next 50 platinums. I'm really going to drain my bank account for a certain game and can't afford too many excess purchases this month. ? And since it's 2:39 AM, it's technically the next day in the week so I'll just put the final report here in early morning. Period 2, Final Day: Carmelita's Revenge I didn't do very much, though: Just started up the third chapter and got a few upgrades. Didn't even earn a single trophy since all of the other trophy upgrades (Spin Attack 3, Jump Attack 3 and whatnot) are probably under Chapter 4 and I didn't want to advance into Chapter 3 very far. All in all, this is a pretty decent game. I hate the Master Thief Challenges but the story missions aren't too difficult if you know how to work them and purchase the Paraglider for Sly and Hover Pack for Bentley to help with jumps. (Murray is hopeless in jumping.) The character you get in Chapter 2 is my least favorite character since you can't fight with him, he has to brainwash mooks to fight for him and he dies quickly if the guards spot him. I haven't even gotten any other characters yet(but they aren't battlers, you just use their special skills in battle) but this is an okay end to the original Sly trilogy. Final Trophy Completion: 39%My Enjoyment: 7/10 (lower than the other Sly games in the trilogy) Current Completion: 87.31% (This is because of my recent platinum of LEGO Marvel's Avengers, which boosted my completion. I also boosted some of my trophy grades for other games. Hopefully I can redeem myself.) Tomorrow: Nep-Nep trying out the MMORPG genre. Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
In the end, I did not play Uncanny Valley because at the time I could start it, it was already 21PM for me and I don't want to start the game unless I'm sure I have enough time to finish it in one go. So, here's the final reviews for Mighty No. 9 and Rebel Galaxy, and I might start a new game either today or on Wednesday. Game #2: Mighty No. 9 Final Review Total playtime: about two hours and fifteen minutes Trophies: 2/31 for a D rank A Mega Man clone not hard but so annoying rough edges ruin it Spoiler In the end, I got past three of the No. bosses, and got up to a fourth one which I just couldn't beat because its level was already taking too much lives off of me. I realised that even though I was already a third of the way into the game, I had yet to experience any good time because of it, so I quit. Imagine a Mega Man game where the levels and gameplay are not designed that well, the music is uninspired and where stuff that was already annoying about the lesser Mega Man games is in there too. Really, I think the only positive thing I have to say about this game is that the levels and bosses really have unique designs that distinguish them from one another. This game may be something for the hard-core Mega Man fan, but any others may walk past it. Before anyone tells me to 'git gud': feck off, I've played stuff like Super Meat Boy, Völgarr The Viking, Super Star Wars and other 'tough' games. There's good difficulty and bad difficulty. Mighty No. 9 is bad difficulty, where the game could have been so much better if the devs had just thought a little bit about how the levels were supposed to work. Mighty No. 9 final score: Game #3: Rebel Galaxy Final Review Total playtime: about two hours Trophies: 1/38 for an E rank western space freighter unforgivable mistakes could have been better Spoiler Rebel Galaxy starts off by making you travel halfway across the map, then back. It's the first sign that this game is a boring grind. The features are promising enough: you're space truckin' in a freighter across a star system. The entire field is a two-dimensional plane, but okay. There's guitar riffs in the soundtrack, an opening quest that's semi-intriguing (if very cliché) and pretty decent graphics. Where the game goes wrong is in the execution. The battles are designed in a way that it's going to take you way too long to even wear down a single ship your size, unless you happen to have the exact right combination of weapons (which isn't explained to you). Next to that, you can only move in a two-dimensional plane but several of your enemies get the third dimension to move, meaning it will happen that enemies move underneath or above you, out of your range, resetting the shields that you had worked so hard on to deplete. There's also the matter of battle difficulty. The game is half an RPG so you need to use side quests to level up your ship enough for the main quests, but this isn't handled well in the game and you'll find that much of the random encounters are annoyingly hard as well until you've gotten much, much better than what you started as. If the game throws so many encounters your way, forcing you out of warp for them, the least they could do is level it to your own ranking. Besides the battles, there's really not much to do in the game besides driving your ship from one point to another, and cruising through in-game menus. It all gets too old too soon, and I think the game would have been more entertaining if 1) it had been designed with movement in 3D and 2) there would have been more to do yourself - stuff like docking is fully automated (and not even shown), and even a bunch of your weapons fire on their own if you're close enough to enemies. Two hours into the game and I was bored enough to call it a day. Cool idea but bad execution, which brings down the whole experience. Contrast to Mighty No. 9, I might actually play through the rest of Rebel Galaxy at some point, but only once I've played through most of the rest of my backlog. You might give this game a try but I suggest buying Elite: Dangerous instead. ED might not been as packed as RG but there is much more content, much more variety (if you're looking for it) and more satisfying combat (if you want it). Rebel Galaxy final score: Next up: Not sure yet. Perhaps Uncanny Valley to quickly get it done so I know how many days I have for a longer game, perhaps Galak-Z to keep with the sci-fi starship trend, perhaps Deus Ex: Mankind Divided so I can finally try one of those games. Might even be Wipeout Omega Collection or Robinson: The Journey that I start next. Edited March 12, 2018 by Riq IV typo

Popular Post DamagingRob
So, I went back to Star Ocean, as I want to try to make it my 300th Platinum, and have a few games sitting at near completion because of it. Normally, I would choose to start a bonus game. As such, my completion continues to rise to nearly what I started at. :/ Basically, the post game has consisted of a lot of item farming. I have to make one of every item in the game (or buy/obtain it). And the post game dungeon is set up to where you want to get the item drop from each of the "mini" bosses, and reload your save if you don't. This is to limit the number of dungeon runs, as they only respawn after you've cleared it. Which would mean fighting the 2 super bosses extra times; you don't want that. ? The layout of this dungeon is really annoying. There is no map, so it's easy to get turned around, and end up going the wrong way. I've been using the maps here to help with that. It consists of 3 floors, and multiple routes on each leading to a boss fight. The first floor was the hardest, as I wasn't a super high level. Had to grind it up some, and get some better weapons. After that, it was manageable. And now that I'm Level 255 (can get there in a couple of hours or less, fighting an enemy on the second floor), only the super bosses pose any real threat. I just have to contend with RNG, now. Quite annoying not getting the item you want multiple times, and having to run back to the boss for another shot.. But once I'm done with farming what I need from this dungeon, I'll just have the Battle and difficulty trophies to do. Popular Post jasondm300
Looking at my future titles, I'm not really excited for any of them except for Crypt of the Necrodancer. Here is game 3 Handball 16 12/26 Trophies A Ranking 3 hours I am so glad I didn't pay for this pile. It is a sports game of Handball, which I know nothing about, and after playing a few games, can forget about it. It looks and plays a lot like soccer, but instead of kicking the ball, you pass it his your hands (what a novel idea). There are 6 players including the keeper, and you can only do tactics with 4 of the 5 player characters. Now, I don't know if I just suck at it, but the only reason I have the trophy for winning a game was because I put it on 2 player. I got my ass handed to me in every game vs the CPU. I really don't know what more I can say, as it is a sim game. The learning curve is really steep, and the tactics for plays only seem to work half the time. I'll stick with The Show as my sports sim game
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #2 - Day #6 - Final Impression Agents of Mayhem Time played: over 10 hours Trophies earned: 23/50 I ended up putting more time into this than I thought. I continued going after collectibles fora while, but I seem to have missed one after having wrapped up the first video guide (out of 4). As I couldn't be bothered rewatching an hour long video to see which one I missed, I went on with the actual game. I focused primarily on getting most of the agent missions out of the way, so I could unlock them. Ended up getting all except one, as she's tied to the story at some point it seems. While doing these missions I ran into a few glitches. At one section of the mission I was supposed to kill all enemies, unfortunately one of them spawned inside a wall which meant I couldn't kill him. So I had to restart the mission from scratch. On the same mission I managed to get to the end, showing me the several reward screens it gives you after each mission, including the one where it says that you unlocked the character, just for the game to not stop loading. Of course the game didn't save the progress of me unlocking the agent (it saved all the level for her though), so I had to do the whole mission a third time. There were a few things I don't particularly like though. For one I would have preferred for all agents to be available from the start. While the introduction sequences for each of them are cool, it limits the freedom a bit when it comes to progressing through the game. Only the agents in your group of 3 that you take on missions earn XP and each other agent you unlock starts off at level 1. By the time I unlocked my last agent the ones from the start were already level 12. So in order to take the new ones along you'll have to lower the difficulty a bit, which in return gives you less XP.. This would not have been an issue, if the new characters were around the same level as the previous ones. I'm also not a fan of the online contracts. You can pick 3 different ones at a time. Each of them has like 5 or 6 subcontracts and in all of them are like 3-4 players. Most of these will never get done, unless everyone puts a lot of hours into the game every day. It would have been beneficial for this game to have online co-op. Not only would it make this nonsense manageable and relevant, but also the whole game would have been more fun. I mean co-op for up to three players, where each pick an agent to play as sounds good to me. A minor complaint is that you can only check your stats (on collectibles and unlocks) when you're in your HQ. Initially I even thought there was no stat tracking, because it's somewhere in a room off to a corner that has no people standing nearby. What bothered me most though, was that you can't put waypoints on the map. You can select missions and get waypoints, but you can't place your own. It's just something that should be a given in any sandbox game really. Other than that the game is quite a lot of fun, but the missions are essentially always the same. Go to a bunch of areas until you need to find and clear a legion lair and that's basically it. It makes it somewhat inevitable that it'll become dull at some point down the line. As of now it's a , that has the potential to fall off a bit.

After getting down to the boss a number of times and being able to get down there consistently with decent health I finally beat normal mode today! My heart was pumping pretty fast, it's an intense fight. Then I fired up hard mode and .. ugh I'm taking a bit of a break before I try that again. Hard mode is a whole 'nother animal. The good news is that areas 1 and 2 have the biggest difficulty jumps. 3 is about the same as normal, just have to grab individual bubbles instead of getting them out of containers. 4 is a bit more chaotic with more random enemies and fewer objects, but not that much harder. The good news is you're racking up combos right and left so you get a decent amount of hp back. The boss is almost exactly the same. He might take a little more damage, and he releases two bursts of fireballs each time, but that's the only difference. Popular Post Hemiak
Game 2 - The Witness 5 hrs played?? 4/14 trophies. Spent a few more hours with the game over the last few days an I'm still enjoying it. I've figured out several more mechanics and it's allowed me to return to a few places I had been stumped previously. I still haven't even really figured out how to start the "2nd"area, but I've fully completed 4 areas now. An area is complete when you turn on all the panels and then activate the laser beam, which shoots up to the top of the mountain. The Marsh taught me a lot about tetris puzzles, and wasn't too bad with a little creative thinking. Shady trees was basically using shadows cast on the panels to solve mazes. Sometimes the shadows were right on the panel, sometimes they were partially obscured by boards and you had to read them before accessing the panel, one was actually on a rock next to the panel, which distorted the pattern and made I a little harder to read. Still, this was the easiest area by far except for one puzzle that was really hard to read. I returned to the quarry, which I couldn't even enter previously. With my newfound skills I opened the door and blew through all the puzzles in about an hour. It was a solid mix of several of the previous mechanics thrown together. I've done a good chunk of the Tree house which introduced a new mechanic that involves pairing off same colored stars. They can be partnered with other colors/objects, but only two of the same color can be grouped together at once. I flew through a good chunk of these in an afternoon before reaching one that completely stumped me. Luckily I think I figured it out while driving to work today, so I'll try it out when I get home. All in all this game is really good. The art is great, the music/sounds really fit the experience of wandering an island by yourself. The puzzles are interesting and fun (if you like that sort of thing) and each area really feels differently. The trophies are pretty easy for the most part. If you wanted you could easily follow a guide and get all but one of them in just a few hours. The final one involves completing a certain challenge) which I don't know about yet), and even in this age of guide followers, is sitting at 15% completion. The rarest other trophy is about 38%, which is a huge jump. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes puzzles or just wants to have a really interesting island experience. I'll definitely finish up the platinum at some point, but it's about time to move on to another game.
Popular Post CJ_Mystery
Period 3, Day 1: Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online Yep, I have finally started my journey to Nep-Nep Nirvana. If you've ever played a Neptunia game, you will recognize Neptune and her girl gang. In this game, she and the others are beta-testing a new MMO. Having played several MMOs in the past(I recommend Wizard101 and Pirate101 by KingsIsle, great stuff for newcomers to the genre, and I also played through MapleStory), I was expecting something complex. Instead we get something really simple. The town is a chibified UI where you collect quests, buy equipment, and visit the Cathedral to save your game and get blessings(you even get trophies for accepting prayers) and the dungeons are mazes where combat is conveyed a la Kingdom Hearts and many other ARPGS. The game starts off in a small dungeon where you fight slimes with dog faces, cat-squirrels(?!?) and plant life as well as a few tough goblins, and then you fight a boss, a giant dog-faced slime who does a really powerful spinning attack. Nep-Nep got smacked around a bit, but Blanc kept everyone healed and soon we got into the main town. Note: Being a Neptunia game, there are a LOT of cut-scenes showing off the characters' personalities. I have dabbled a bit into Neptunia so I know how the characters are and it is good Compile Heart does their best to keep them in character. I have just collected a quest to defeat 10 skeletons in the next area, Logi Mountain, which is a fraction tougher than the first dungeons - the Corpse Knights are no joke and one nearly rekt BlancI(should change the tactics a bit so Blanc doesn't run in to fight enemies, she's the squishiest of the team) but so far I'm doing okay. Can't wait for the game to really open up after the second boss. Trophy Completion: 7% (5 trophies out of 50)
Popular Post Edward_FOX_86
What's up! So its nearing the time to change games and the time to write my definitive Review on... (Quick note on the side : I'm really annoyed today, got fined by the police, The weather is F** Up with all these storms and I had to walk 3 dogs while Rainining :/ What's up with you Life??? LOL nothing too serious though ^^) TOMB RAIDER - Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 STATS 13 of 125 Trophies (3 or DLC that somehow I fell upon) 9% Completion E Rank I have to say the part were I get to sit down at night and play this and other games after Work (Even though I love what I do) is probably the best and more relaxing time of my day. This game I have to say is awesome. I felt like time just flew by while playing it. The completion rate is at 24% (story only of course and I'm not sure if the collectibles count for this). For those of you who enjoyed the First on this New Square Enix take on the World of Lara Croft I think You'll Love the sequel and It's a no brainer: If you have the first get the Latest one Please, its so worth it!!! Just to introduce a little bit to the story this includes some of the characters from the previous game (I haven't played it all) and Lara sometimes remembers conversations or "lessons" that she learned over the past years. I haven't been paying really close attention to the Story but basically Lara is on the Run to find some sort of artifact (This does not spoil the story for you) along with another secret group (the bad guys) and in the process she meets other people who kind of protected this artifact for the sake of everyone. Let's hope it does not fall on the wrong hands (sort of deal ^^). But really I never had a Game were Exploring felt so fun (Never played the witcher soooo.... its on the list though eheh) and were details matter so much. Even the sound of the gun is satisfying to hear, everytime wolf gets in the way. Graphics are up there, I had to take a break because I was feelling a bit dizzy cause I've got a big TV and usually I'm not so concentrated on a game. As you probably know I play a lot of FIFA and it has many pauses in between games and even during games (half-time, corners, etc) I wish I had played more but for some reason I felt a need to start some other games, I don't know why but it happened so let me include a Bonus Game here. I'll Keep it short like Billy Horrible VOLGARR THE (F***ing) VIKING STATS 4 of 21 Trophies 6% Completion E Rank Extremely Difficult No Reward Whatsoever 1 checkpoint during the whole first chapter (Really GAME???) F*** this game for beeing so good and so bad at the same Time (maybe I'm just bad at the game and I'm excusing Myself ... OH well ^^) Cheers ALL and pardon my Rudeness
dertswa687o
@Jaco that item grind in SO5 was super annoying. None of the bosses are hard to beat with the right setup, but you just need way too many of the drops. Really, it's classic tri-Ace. The dungeon is annoying too since it just takes forever to walk between bosses. Not quite as annoying as Gladsheim from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, but annoying nonetheless. Once you get that knocked out you'll just have to conquer the very easy battle trophies for the plat. Thankfully you can idle the 1M hits since it took me 20 hours of idling. The status ailment BTs ended up being the most annoying for me. The 1k items were a bit of a pain too.
DamagingRob
@dertswa687o Yeah, I handled most of them with ease once I grinded to 255. The party animas were the biggest pain, and the only ones I had to really worry about killing me after that. Finally farmed all the Orichalcum I needed, though, and finished the enemy bestiary. Battle trophies and the playthroughs on higher difficulties are all that's left. Those worry me more than the Battle trophies, to be honest. Lol. Clearly You've never played Pokémon ! lol
dertswa687o
@Jaco the one thing that helped me a lot was creating a Laser Weapon during the brief time early on you get fast travel. I did that on Chaos and had an easier time than Universe, where I didn't do it. The hardest part of the game was the Protect Anne battles though. I had to level Dead Man Walking to stand a chance during those fights, especially the one outside in the desert.
MidnightDragon
Dummy me forgot that I loaned out Odin Sphere Leifthrasir to a friend and won't be getting it back until the weekend...so going to go with my original plan and start Rainbow Moon later and will start Odin Sphere on the 19th. I'm not always this disorganized, I swear... Edited March 13, 2018 by MidnightDragon

You have to clean up their excrement from the litterbox but it's far better than having to walk a bunch of yapping mutts out and scoop up their droppings while it's soaking wet. Just kidding. My parents have two dogs that they love to death. Sorry you had to go through that personal hell and hope the rest of the week is better for you. I have to go to the dentist Wednesday and get fitted for a life-time retainer setup with fake teeth to replace the ones they had to pull. Having to eat with a metal retainer on is going to be Hell.

F*** this game for beeing so good and so bad at the same Time (maybe I'm just bad at the game and I'm excusing Myself ... OH well ^^) I thought Völgarr was brilliant! It's a throwback to those old action platformers. All of the chapters have only one checkpoint... The fun is finding out what comes in what order, and how to best get through it. Just like with Bloodborne (though I think Völgarr is harder), it feels so brilliant when you finally get through the boss fight. Of course, this game is not for everyone
Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Game #4: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided First dayTotal playtime: about forty-five minutes Started the game by watching the twelve minute recap for the previous game, and I was sleeping before the recap had ended, so that's saying something about how tired I was when I played this. I thought it was a basic stealth FPS game, but the game drops so damn many tutorials on you in the first level... I have to admit right here that I usually don't adore FPS games. There's a rare exception that I love, like Goldeneye 007 on the N64 or the recent DOOM, but usually I'm not that into it. And when a game starts with all kinds of stuff that is not even remotely related to aim-headshot-repeat, I tend to quickly lose my patience. I probably should give this game an honest shot, but I'm fairly sure that it's not for me. Looks like it's well-made, though, but the gameplay is alienating for me. I probably won't have any gaming time today. When I do have time to game again, I'll probably move over to a different game first, though I'm not sure whether or not I'll get back to Deus Ex in the end as I'm fairly sure that the game doesn't want me to play how I want to play.
