Inside and Limbo developer Playdead is teaming up with iam8bit and RealDoll — yes, the company that makes life-size sex dolls and other sex toys — for a collector’s edition that’s full of mystery. The $375 package includes a physical copy of Inside for PlayStation 4, Steam codes for Inside and Limbo, and, according to iam8bit, “other stuff.” It’s not clear what RealDoll’s part in this collaboration is just yet. The parties involved are keeping the contents of the collector’s edition a mystery.

“We will NOT tell you what it is. Maybe it’s what you’re thinking… maybe not. We can confirm that there are several items included, one of which is a PlayStation 4 game disc. The rest is up for speculation.”

One thing is easy to rule out, however. The collector’s edition probably won’t include one of RealDoll’s infamous sex dolls; those start at $3,999. RealDoll sells sex toys and accessories, as well, so perhaps there’s a fleshy body horror toy included in the package. Suffice it to say, if there’s not something intentionally fuckable in the collector’s edition, someone screwed up...

$375 lootbox? :P

That was honestly the first thing that crossed my mind.  Difference with a loot box is that you are least know what it might be.  This could be anything, and I anticipate that a lot of people will be upset if they pay that kind of money for a box and end up not liking what was inside.  Hype is a dangerous tool.

Seriously though, if this was EA or Activision doing this there would be calls for boycotts and Reddit would start spamming 0/10 scores because a company was making you pay 400$ for a surprise.

While that's a very valid point, it's only valid because of the reputations EA and Activision have built for themselves.  Just proves how much trust they've lost in their fans (if there's any left, that is).

In regards to the mystery box, I'm hoping for something akin to Black Mirror ep 201 :P
