Man, you just bought back some good memories of my SNES days thrashing nba live 95 and nba live 96. I loved 96. What a great basketball game for its time. I'd probably cringe if I played it now though. As someone who has platted 2 nba games, good luck to anyone patting nba 2k19 in November... Seeing as not all cards have dropped yet in myteam so it's still technically unobtainable lol. 

 

That's all good, I really should have done this sooner, & worked up to more lucrative offerings. I probably did at least a hundred hours of NBA Jam back in the day, was going to offer that up too but I don't have doubles like with the other titles. Wasn't sure if 2k19 was obtainable but I saw a mate playing it & it got me thinking. I reckon basketball in the 90s was a pretty special moment in time, at least it felt like that. I went all in, played every morning & lunch in school, collected the cards, had jerseys of my favourite players & might have even watched a few games when they bothered airing them. Great times for sure. I think the Japanese prize is quite winnable but I've done that game once & would never even contemplate doing it again! Grinding the same stage for hours to gain experience that can't be applied to any character because they're all maxed out was one of the most absurd things I've ever done for a platinum to say the least.

I'd like to congratulate @Knightmare_1985 on hitting Level 100 for trophies. I've always enjoyed watching every one of you hitting a milestone, or getting the platinum on something you've worked hard on and this is no different. A monumental effort for sure, well done mate ?

Man, nba jam. So many hours wasted on that in my junior years as well. What a great game. When nba playgrounds launched on Ps4 I was so hyped. Great game! Just a let down that there is no plat. 

 

Now playgrounds 2 has come out, I'm keen to play that as well as there is so much more content. But again, no plat. It does bring nba jam into the 21st century though, thats for sure.

Yes, even though he wasn't part of the comp, @Knightmare_1985 was very generous with a donation a couple of months back so he is pretty much apart of it anyway.

Just thought I'd share the fact that for the first time ever, I've hit 100 Platinums earned for the year. Battlefield 4 was my #229th, earned last year on 31st of December. I'm actually hoping I can make it to #350 by the end of the year which will be a big ask as I'm considering doing Final Fantasy XIII but we'll see. Anyways, that's my good news ?

Here we are again with another update. I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that I may have overestimated my power when it came to the competition challenges I set myself. After 2 years of placing 3rd in these all Australian events, I fear my reign has come to end. But no matter, I'll be back next year and hopefully be better prepared for the excellent competition you have all provided.

 

Unfortunately, any plans I had to finish a backlog game or have another platinum blitz were canned when Square Enix decided to pull that stunt in regards to Final Fantasy XV. There's a few theories flying around, but the general idea seems to be that the Comrades multiplayer facet in-game is getting closed and a stand-alone is being released in December. Not being 100% sure if the trophies will still be obtainable or not in a month's time, I stopped everything and have worked on them since. Anyone else who has the game and wants to get the multiplayer out of the way might consider doing the same. Don't be put off by the 50-60 hour playtime recommendation, I've finished all but one trophy and came in at under 30 hours total. I'd like to thank @Demon--Prototype for playing alongside me and for doing the research required to halve the total playtime for us both. I managed to notch up the platinum for Livelock as well, a co-op intended game that sadly plays far better in single player. Nevertheless, a great couple of sessions with @Knightmare_1985 and @Demon--Prototype saw to us all getting the platinum. Always a pleasure to game with the lads.

 

As we near the final leg of the event, I'd like to thank @adam1984123 for hosting this, when our previous event closed down. I'm glad that most of the GATH veterans came across to the ATL, as well as a few new faces. A special thanks to those who donated prizes to the event, your generosity is very much appreciated. I may have one final wrap up at the end of this years event. I'm very hopeful that we continue on next year in some way. As always, good luck to all this month

On a positive note, I'm very pleased with my results for my own personal challenges for the year, with 4/5 complete and the potential to make it a clean sweep. I'm already contemplating stats to work on and improve next year and I've always found that setting these goals for myself in gaming to be a great motivator to improve my trophy collection, my profile and my skill as a gamer.

Nice update mate. Good to see you ticked off most of your gaming goals this year with regards to trophies. 

 

For me this month it's actually been quite productive with trophies. Gone back in time and finished sniper elite v2 on PS3 and then decided to do sniper elite 3 on PS3 as well even though I've done the Ps4 version. I love those games. I also completed all the Mafia 3 dlc. I actually thought the dlc was better than some parts of the main game, definately worth playing. 

 

And since I've been flat out at work and pretty tired most nights, I decided I've give my vita some love and clear up some easy games while I lay in bed. So I also did burly men at sea and day of the tentacle remastered. 

 

Still some time left this month so hopefully I can complete assissins Creed brotherhood and I'm sure with the black Friday sales I'll pick up a whole heap of other stuff as well. 

 

Been watching a heap of hitman 2 game play on YouTube. Even though this game doesn't have a plat it still has 118 trophies and looks bloody awesome. Think I'm going to pick it up.

Nice. I only grabbed God of War. I was considering Detroit: Become Human, Far Cry 5 ($25 from Amazon and Big W), Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition ($33 from Amazon) and Spider-Man ($39 from Amazon and Big W), but I ended up deciding against all of them for various reasons. I have a huge backlog so I figure they'll all be at the same price or cheaper (or, in the case of Spider-Man, maybe have a re-release with all the DLC included on disc) when I do want to play them.

Well it's certainly been a month as I limped my way into the bottom of the top 50. Looking forward to seeing our Damage join me there soon. As an underground musician I find the words 'top & 50' when put together to be bilious & horrifying. I don't know how it happened. I had taken some strange fragmented annual leave that would give me 4 days off every week in November but that assumed I'd get my normal days off & it absolutely didn't work out like that, so I've been putting as little effort into gaming as is humanly possible and racked up 16 platinums so far. I went to my GP with the trophy list loaded on my phone, showed it & asked for a Xanax script with some repeats since it's currently en vogue. I was told it doesn't count as a clinical depression because the Ratalaika games are too close to real titles & if I had done 'Sometimes You' quad stacks then maybe. That fucker suggested I try doing some 'real' Ultra Rares, whatever that means. I tried to point out Seraph is legit but apparently it's too small a sample size. 

 

Picked up a fair few digital titles from the Black Friday sale but otherwise paying out the arse for import titles. Picked up a second hand copy of Kyoei Toshi/City Shrouded in Shadow for ps4, wasn't that cheap. Grabbed Race the Sun Vita physical version from LRG this morning, gonna try getting Sayonara Umihara Kawase++ Physical vita version on Sunday & next week I'll have to pay off my preorder of Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories (been waiting so many years to play this since that stupid last minute cancellation) & Ketsui Deathtiny (4th time buying Ketsui, hmmn).

Lol, you know all successful musicians (well if we define success by western means) were underground at one point. Besides eventually you will sell out, it is never about the money but it does buy some wonderful things. Besides you are almost cynical enough and your humour is almost black enough. And you already have that drinking problem essential with musicians. Look forward to watching on, there is nothing quite like wanking on about the existential crisis, after all that is really all that matters right.

In todays climate I feel like I could spend a week making some synth/drum loops & make full songs out of stupid jingles I come up with most nights and half of them would be 'hits'. Currently I just sing them at my gf until I get yelled at. Like most years I got a couple of offers for my stuff on vinyl this year which was annoying. I really don't want to do the mixing & mastering for songs I've played & listened to so many times. Recently I've joined one of my favourite cult bands from way down south & if I just keep some spare copies of the many LPs that'll be coming out I can probably get rich selling those. I dunno if I can find a rockabilly band to ghost write for keep an eye out for the songs 'barberin' cash' & 'no time for beards' I'm sure they'll do well.

Well, here we are at the end. I'll keep it short as there are far more interesting stats about to come up for everybody. Firstly, congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated this year. I know things started out shaky with the event migration, however under the capable hands of @adam1984123 we managed just fine. Special thanks to @adam1984123, @Demon--Prototype, @Ethan, @Knightmare_1985 and @readytofuky for all the co-op and party chat shenanigans, always a blast with you guys. One more round of thanks to @adam1984123, @damage_6-9, @fisty123, @Gibbo_0113 and @Knightmare_1985 for your generous prize donations.

 

Sadly, I relinquish my 3rd place streak this year. This yearly event of ours sees stronger participants joining as well as some from the previous seasons stepping up their game. I could have prepared better but I'm not taking anything away from the podium placements, you guys won fair and square as per the rules. Nevertheless, I'll be back next year, ready to go as always. As for my personal goals, I think I did pretty well. I couldn't quite get my unearned count down (thanks AC Odyssey) but it's something I'll keep working on. I haven't forgotten about the completion rate stats for everyone either, I'm about to check those and provide them for you all. I'll also be doing a questionnaire similar to the one I did last year.

Before I get into the formalities, in no particular order, I would like to thank @fisty123, @damage_6-9, @Gibbo_0113 and @Knightmare_1985 (for his one off donation who isn't even in the comp) for their generous prize donations throughout the season. Its not often a competition on these forums can offer a prize pool of $450AU+! So as a small community from down under, I think that's something we can all be proud of. Since our 'anonymous donor' was a total wank and deleted myself and pretty much everyone else in this comp, the PSN cards they sent me disappeared too - so I have dipped further into my own pocket and funded the random $80 prize as well to make sure no one misses out on what they are entitled too. And quite frankly, the charity of such a person isn't really wanted. But some people just don't know when they should move on. Anyway...

 

With a last chance effort to earn the final podium spot and any other prize funds that may be on offer, it looks like a few players had a decent crack this month. I'd like to congratulate @damage_6-9 on winning the trophies earned category! Well done mate. A whopping 33 plats for the month and I believe you have smashed all of your 2018 goals with regards to trophies. Great way to finish of the comp and 2018 mate, so well done. @CrestfallenV finishes in second in what was a personal best month for him - bagging 9 plats along the way. Hopefully it pays off to get back on the podium... scroll down for the result. But read this first. I have gone to the trouble of typing it out at nearly 1am when I could have been in bed trying to roll the leg over - probably unsuccessfully. And the final podium spot goes to the ever consistent @Nitro. Well done mate - another haul of 22 plats for the month is a great effort. Shame none of them are in English so no one knows what the fuck they are. Honorable mentions go to @readytofuky who bagged 20 plats for the month and @MattyH16 who also had double figures with 13. Great job guys.

 

The backlog category. Its been an incredible year with 2 people finishing their backlogs. But everyone is over it. Thats for sure. Except 1 person. @fisty123. Two months in a row now Fisty has bagged 2 backlogs. And this month he was the only one to complete any backlog game at all, so he takes home max points and everyone else leaves points on the table. Maybe it cost them some cash? Out of the 'active' participants @Spider5786 and @readytofuky were the only two players not to complete a single backlog. Well done guys - nice effort there. And @Nitro only completed 1 backlog. That could be costly in the end.

 

And finally fame and shame. My favorite category to see what all you cans of spam have been playing. @MattyH16 and @readytofuky can count themselves lucky they didn't win shame with 99.19% plats this month. That honor goes to Mr. 33 plats himself - @damage_6-9. He was able to trump them with a 99.41% plat. Well done mate. Pretty much a plat for booting up the game. But more importantly, fame honors this month goes to @fantrig99. A quiet achiever this year, Fantrig has been chipping away and getting some nice URs throughout - well done mate on your 1.2% plat. @fisty123 capitalizes on his backlog performance with a second place fame finish with 2.61%. And @patrickogorman19, who has gone nuts by his standards this year, rounds out the top 3.

 

So with all that said, our final result for November is: @fisty123 comes out on top, @fantrig99 2nd and @CrestfallenV in 3rd. @damage_6-9 cost himself a podium finish with the shame award - unlucky there mate.

Congrats to @Demon--Prototype and @patrickogorman19 for coming first and second. Huge thanks to @adam1984123 stepping up and running the comp this year and thanks to everyone that put up prizes (@damage_6-9, @fisty123, @Gibbo_0113, @Knightmare_1985 and Adam again). I really enjoyed competing, finally completing my backlog nominations and knocking out the online trophies in a few games before they became unobtainable.

Demon demolished everyone and Patrick was very secure in second, but it ended up being a very close race for third between myself, Gibbo and Nitro.

I was hoping I'd get more rarity points for 2064: Read Only Memories but its rarity shot up from 2.85% at the end of last month to 3.96% now. I guess a lot of people realised that Threat Neutralized isn't as hard as one guy on PST made out.

@adam1984123 The man! Thanks dude, not just for running this solo but for resurrecting the comp altogether. This is the first comp iv been in and fuck it was a blast! I met some really cool people throughout this journey and it was a pleasure to be apart of it all. The donators played a massive part in making this an actual competition so a BIG thank you to all! There were some beastly performances from so many across all categories and a huge congrats to all contestants that picked up some ? in the end. Especially @patrickogorman19 and @CrestfallenV

 

I may have talked a bit of shit throughout this comp, especially to our beloved former champ @fisty123 but in all honesty, i really am grateful to all that joined, cause without you, it wouldn't have been a competition.

 

There were many times i wanted to give this trophy hunting thing a serious go, but never had the drive to execute, until this experience came along. Again, I am very surprised to see that the completion rates for everyone have increased again! Except for Gibbo, who has decreased again. If this proves to be a popular feature, I may do this again next season.
