I don't hate anyone. I'm not even interested in the "person" behind the PSN profile! Who cares!

But I understand now why you've read all this into my OP, because of your dire experience.

But please, for the love of trophies, don't turn me saying "I hate the junk platinum system" into "I despise platinum whores and they are whores in real life as well and they should be prosecuted and burnt alive".

That the junk platinum system is hateful, is a very reasonable argument; turning it into a personal offense you paint me as a despicable human being. Don't try to discredit this argument with this method.

But if you intend to use the forums, you surely want to use it to talk to people on here and some of the people who might get along well with you could also be someone who only really goes for junk trophies.

I will say another thing and that is: trophies don’t define gaming skill. I have seen profiles of people who specialise in various games like fighting games and COD and more often that not, the people who own those profiles don’t have any platinums but they win thousands of dollars and are sponsored for their ability in those games.

I spent hundreds of hours playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 with trophy hunters and helping them get the co-op trophy and a lot of times, the people who had less than 10 platinums were better than the people who had over 200 platinums.

If you’re not interested in the person behind the profile then what’s the point adding anyone? The whole point of adding someone should be to talk to them and play games with them.

Of course, I already have PMs with people who like easy games, no problem. Hmm, maybe "add me on PSN" is a wider term than I would think..? (I'm a newbie after all.)

What I love is to just browse my friends' trophy list on my PS4. Seeing how they progress, what games they have etc. I don't use gaming to socialize, in my work I have to do that all day and I want to completely lose myself and turn into a nameless, faceless "Trophessional", when I'm gaming.

I understand that for the newer generation gaming might be the actual place to properly socialize. Then my attitude may seem a bit too harsh for them I guess.

I agree it's not about skill, I'm not good at all (that makes it even more rewarding to 100% a hard game).

Hm. In the end, I'm the trophy whore, haha! I'm just a very picky whore. ?

@Trophessional I respect you for standing your ground, especially when you're new around here. I like how you haven't let anyone sway your stance and of course there's no right or wrong here, we all have our different opinions and I happen to share yours regarding profiles, not necessarily the people behind them. Anyway, if my profile fits your bill feel free to shoot me an add. I'm also going to go ahead with the giveaway soon, but I'll give you some time to level up a bit so you don't miss out on the chance to enter :)

Thanks @Zolkovo I appreciate your words very much.

Your giveaway sounds really generous, and it's a fun thing to take part in. What will be the minimum rank requirement, you know already?

PS: Your profile is exactly my kind of thing, almost everything 100%

You help people with ngs2? Wow, that’s cool. Never heard you mention that before. You should head on over to the killzone 2 forums there’s some guys over there who could do with your help.

I was using it as an example to compare that people with less trophies have at times still been a better player than those who have a lot of trophies. The only reason you’ve said that now is likely because you are salty that you failed Valor Grand Cross in an easy week and now there’s nothing you can do to get it.

I couldn’t give a flying fuck I never got vgc mate. I have a life and friends and responsibilities. I don’t spend 12 hours a day in front of a computer. My point was that you push the fact you help in everyone’s faces at every single chance you get like you expect us all to bow down. I help people too more than I do any of my own actual gaming but I don’t need constant recognition for it like you do. My other point of posting that message was that you have the most giant stick up your ass, as evidenced by your response to the OP here and I genuinely think you could benefit from living a little and acquiring a sense of humour and being way less obnoxious.

If a five year old child makes a ridiculous statement what do you do?

You don’t attack them, you don’t publicly shame or ridicule them. You either educate them or ignore them.

Save the venom for someone qualified to argue back - there is really no need to get cruel.

A child in a house full of junkies may have a better feel of life my brother.

You are amassing junk trophies for so long that your judgement became flawed.

There are junk trophy games, period. It is actually childish to defend this trophy system, or just vile, choose between the two.

And, you know what is despicable for me? Putting a sword in someone's back while you are patting him in the meantime. You are not nice folk, your behavior is despicable, so no, I won't go to chat with you. Bye-bye my friend.

Okay kid, whatever.

Just trying to defend you, but you seem dead set against making any kind of positive first impression, so I guess that’s that.

I made a very good impression on a bunch of good people, I'm PM-ing even with people with a lot of easy games, and we are laughing about all those who are offended by my OP.

I'm not a kid, I'm very probably much older than you. If you want to defend someone, don't call him a child and a kid; a bit of social advice from an adult. ?

@Trophessional I understand your point of view, but on this website they only care about easy trophies, like most threads here, like "Is this game too hard?" or "How many stacks can I do for this game?". Regarding trophies, I always choose games I think I will enjoy the most, like story-driven games, rpg, fps. The only easy games I have are from ps plus free monthly games and even some I do regret playing. If a game I like have a hard plat, i will buy it anyways just like Wolfenstein NC, but unlike others I don't post on every thread that I got it and the others are just lazy and bad because they don't have it. Look at my "trophy cabinet", Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, TLOU and others like Batman Arkham Knight and all Assassin's Creed games, those are the games I feel proud to have platinum, even though they weren't that hard, they were fun and enjoyable. So, feel free to add me if you want, unlike others, for me, you don't need 300+ games or 1000+  reputation to be considered a "legit" or a "true" trophy hunter.

I love how @Trophessional stands his ground. You have great inner-strength broheem.

You remind me of myself.

I am assaulted everyday on these forums by pimps, ho's, players, johns, tricks, marks, mark-ass tricks, trick-ass marks, skeezers, skanks, skig-scags, and scallywhops.

They fail. They will never break me. I will continue to post memes to fulfill my dreams and shit-post until my account is toast!

Thank you @PhantomBlade19 and @Super Sand Virginia

Yesterday one of my PSN friends got a 0,1% bronze trophy. It is even more fun and inspiring than I thought to have these kind of notifications on your PS4 board!
Hey if anyone wants to change to this mind-set, feel free to add me even if you have junk games in your cellar!

Also, I'm thinking about a fan made time-based leaderboard, although I would definitely consult with a moderator before I would open such a thread, seeing what people did with @Zolkovo's giveaway.

I think the average taken time correlates the best with how valuable a platinum or a 100% is. It's not a perfect measurement, but it seems by far to be the best - considering how simple it is to measure!

There would be a minimum requirement that if you have a certain % of very easy games you cannot be on the board.

We would need some admins with some free time who calculate the points and change the leaderboard, let's say once a week.

Also, as a newbie, I can see the big problem that older gamers have a natural huge advantage simply because they have been playing for so long. I think many new PS player don't bother to get into trophy hunting, if they have a slight competitive nature like I do. Maybe the trophies/day ratio could be a factor in the leaderboard?

I would appreciate your ideas on this!

@Trophessional Hmm I don't think the trophies/day necessarily correlates with anything other than how much free time you currently have. Mine is pretty high right now while I've been on physical medical leave but now that I'm almost fully recovered, I'll occasionally be working overseas where I'll get around an hour max to game in an entire week due to the social nature of the job. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your idea here. If you're referring to 100% speed-runs, that kinda already exists on the site for each game although the world's best are almost always not on the top spots on this site because they specialise in a handful of games and don't bother to make new accounts when they go to beat their own records. That and also 100% trophies isn't always the same as 100% completion in a game so there is a bit of cross-over too.

Yes trophy/day shouldn't count, you are right, @Zolkovo.

Here is the first outline of the leaderboard:

T R O P H Y    H U N T E R    H A V E N

Fan made leaderboard

Based on average time to take to platinum a game. [or to 100%..?]

Rules

Only post in this thread if you want to take part.

Only 100% games count.

Easy games (40%+ platinum rarity) will not be taken into account, to simplify the judges’ work.

Times are derived from www…. Please don’t expect this method to be 100% accurate. But we find this to be the most accurate of all methods.

There are four different sections, the below PS10 rank, the below 20 rank, the below 35 rank and the 35+ rank. This is made to encourage hunters of all rank.

I think you should make a new thread if you want to discuss this :)

I'd hate to see your introduction get derailed and also it'll do wonders to your post-count for future giveaways/competitions.

I'm afraid that it would create a freakin civil war... I don't quite have the time for the kind of sh*tposts you received for your giveaway idea.

I'm trying to contact a moderator, to be able to add this line: "We agreed with a moderator, that this thread should not be a discussion thread, so every post arguing against this kind of leaderboard will be removed!"

What do you mean by post-count relating to competitions etc.? I'm a noob man, I dunno anythin ?

I don't have much time and money though to rank myself up properly, so I want to be a completist, playing only long and hard games. No PS Vita games hahaha!

Why so much hate on the Vita? There's a lot of cross-platform games on the Vita that are long and hard (Trails of Cold Steel, Final Fantasy X/X-2, World of Final Fantasy, Atelier Rorona Plus) and plenty that are Vita-only (Tales of Hearts, Sorcery Saga, Atelier Totori Plus, Atelier Meruru Plus, Atelier Ayesha Plus). And these are only a small sample of games as these are only those that I've taken the time to platinum... I'm sure there's a much broader selection of challenging Vita games than the JRPG titles I gravitate towards.

I'd say there's just as much "junk" on the consoles as there is on the handheld by what I'm assuming your definition is after reading through this thread (no challenge and mindless games).

Anyway,  I tend to research my games before buying them to see if I'll like them. That way I can avoid "junk" which, by my definition, are games that are glitchy, have little story/character development, bad battle mechanics, terrible art/animation, etc. There are few games that I'd personally consider "junk". /Shrug/

Welcome!

Way to piss off half the community right off the bat. ;)  Probably kinda sad this is such a popular thread, but there it is.

Enjoy the site!  I'm sure you'll find like minded people on here.

(PS: I have the My Name is Mayo plat twice and the GTA V PS4 plat.  Have fun with that.)

@Zolkovo Have you checked that your 'View Signatures' option is ticked in your Forum Account's settings? If you allowed them there, then your ad-blocker might be the cause. For me, the signatures and people who gave reputation are not showing when I am not logged in - just a thing I've noticed recently.

I believe it is still undergoing further developments, particularly with the way in which points are calculated.

Thanks a lot for the link, I was not aware of it - however, most of the top guys in there seem to be either private profiles (removed cheaters?) or people with many trophies, so I guess it's not really accurate - it should probably calculate some percentage of ultra rares and make a leaderboard depending on it, so that people such as @Potent_Delusions or @Danny_Johansen could rightfully get to the top. I am not sure how much of a priority this leaderboard is, though. ?

Also I agree with @eigen-space, there are also some nice and challenging games on the Vita - I would not completely ditch it. ?
