Medved Taiga Collectibles

Ok so I wanted to start a thread for the collectibles. Currently I have no idea how many there are, and for all my searching; can’t find a definitive answer.

 

It seems that across all versions the trophies/achievements for the Medved-Taiga pack are bugged. 

 

I myself can can confirm that both the

-Paleontology 101 & Pilgrim trophies glitched for me. Albeit in a good way, both randomly unlocked whilst I was wandering around the map. I am still finding the Collectibles relates to them now, after they already popped.

 

I can also confirm that the

-Art Critic trophy glitched on me in a bad way. I found all cave paintings and the trophy did not unlock. However, it did pop a few days later whilst I was wandering the map (nowhere near a cave).

 

But because of these issues there’s no real way (that I’ve found) to figure out if you’ve found all the collectibles needed. Some people may pop the trophies after finding 5-10. 

 

Some (like me) may be searching around the map for hours, desperately hoping each found item is the last.

 

In an attempt to help, here’s a list of which collectibles I’ve found; along with their location. Please post any you find below if they are not in this list.

 

Please note: this may not be a complete list as I have been unable to find out exactly how many of each there is.

These are currently all the locations I know, and I will add to this list when I find more.

As the trophies are bugged you may unlock any of these trophies without finding all the items below, or you may find every item and still find the trophy has not unlocked.

Nice job on the list mate, I'm about to start medved but cant find a really solid complete list of all the collectables for it.

 

Can anyone confirm exact numbers, or know of any good videos or web pages that can supply the goods?

So I got the shed hunter trophy today, I started map and jumped straight onto a quad bike and started collecting immediately, which is good for anyone that has to start a new game as they may have met the requirements when trophy was glitched and are unable to obtain the trophy on their current save.

 

I went to these locations..

To my dismay the trophy didn't pop, then I found info that if you pick up a particular cave lion skull at location -9337 x -5191 the trophy may pop, which I did and bling! It worked! 

 

Apparently you only need 10 moose antlers and 5 reindeer antlers from those and then the skull for trophy to pop. I only found them all as I didn't know about the skull at the time.

 

May be worth a shot if anyone has picked up all antlers and yet to pick up that particular skull to see if it trophy unlocks for them.

 

I'll keep posting my progress as I collect the other collectables.

Thanks for doing that! I am really surprised at how low-key this game seems to be on these forums, on Steam the discussion thread has been very lively for the past 2 years or so. I am really tempted to go back to playing this game, I am only worried about time because it is definitely a time-sink.

All good mate, I've really been enjoying the game personally, it is a big investment in time but the experience is nothing like anything I have ever played before.

 

I'm aiming for 100% over the next few months and am considering making trophy guides for each of the dlcs as I complete them to help others out as there is not much I the way of ps4 help online.

This game is sure fun to play. I also completed Medvet Taiga (story missions), very nice map. The reason why this game is not to populair on the PS4 is i think the glitched trophies in combination with that the game is very relaxing to play. Some people would call it boring, but I like just walking/sneaking through the forest lurking around and stalking the prey.

I just logged in, seeing if ther where new things and maybe that the Medvet Taiga trophies now also would unlock.
But it seems like my progress was partly wiped, I am still a level 44 but all my outposts are undiscovered by me. I do have the story missions progress still available. Don't think I will even continue again with this game like this. It is on all my maps. ?

There are a total of 28 items for this (10 mammoth tusks, 10 cave lion teeth and 8 cave lion skulls)

 

*note that all of the lion teeth are at the entry to all the caves containing the paintings so these should be done at the same time, also go to the teeth location first, not the painting location as it always puts you at the entry of the cave.

I'm really disappointed to see that returning to the game after 10 months the trophies are still glitched. I just discovered the 10 monuments (not in order if that matters) and the trophy did not pop. I will continue exploring and maybe the trophy will pop at random but it's really discouraging when a game that demands so much time does not work as it should (especially after so many patches). At least the trophy for the first story arc popped, that's a relief.

That's really unfortunate mate, I went for the collectable trophies in this order..

 

Shed hunter

Paleontology 101

Art critic

Pilgrim

 

I found that the shed hunter trophy required a particular lion skull to be picked up to unlock trophy as I mentioned earlier, so maybe the pilgrim trophy is bound by the same fate?

 

All I could recommend is doing all the collectables first, maybe in the order I did them and hope that the pilgrim trophy pops for you along the way. If you started the dlc from a fresh save (not one that's linked to a saved game that's a year or so old) i don't see how this could be locked out again after the recent patches.

Thanks for the help, just popped the Art critic, so now I'm of a more positive mindset that the other ones will also pop at some point. Actually, I will soon test the Pilgrim again because the chances are that I might have missed one monument - when I looked at them in the Codex, I could see all 10 of them, but then I found another one whose number overlapped with one of those that I had revealed before - this makes me think that there are more monuments (some with overlapping numbers) and not all of them count for the trophy.

All good, tbh mate I wouldn't trust half the info in the codex, the game is notorious for not tracking stats correctly. I have shot 3 diamonds and it still says I have 0. And the distances it says i have traveled are all over the show. 

 

I'd definitely recommend checking what you have already done, maybe screenshot the list i posted and tick them off as you go as it popped for me right after i picked up the 10th.

 

And make sure you actually pick them up, i nearly forgot to press square on one seen I was so wrapped up with checking where the next one was! Lol

 

I'd even recommend leaving the monuments for now and do the shed and paleontology trophy first

So I actually got all the collectible trophies from Medved Taiga except for the Pilgrim one, which is actually funny when you realize that it is the most common trophy from all the collectible trophies in this DLC. There is definitely something messed up with the trapper/nennets/expedition locations as I noticed sometimes I would discover, say, Nennet location and it would register in the codex as trapper, and so on. So even though the trapper and expedition locations were not needed for the trophy, I discovered everything and still no trophy. To be fair, I did not start this DLC on a clean save, so once I am done with the game, I will return to this map on a clean save and rediscover the monuments again (though it will be a pain without outposts and having to travel all over the map). I would say that collectibles in this game are really poorly planned and they are hardly an added value - they seem forced for whatever reason, unfortunately. But at least the story arc trophies are popping all right, I have done half of them so far and will be starting on the other half soon (they don't seem too difficult). 

 

Good job to you, @R3DLNR, on getting all the trophies for the savanna reserve, were there any hard missions?

I don't get why it is so hard for them to fix the trophies. As a software developer myself, it should be something like if you got A + B + C = Trophy. Somehow i don't think it really is a priority at there department, but new DLC are. It is a shame actually, becasue if the game wasn't so bugged more people would play it. I am sure of that.

I just followed this guide, and went to these locations for the Shed Hunter Trophy.
When I had collected 5 Moose Antlers, and 5 Reindeer Antlers the Shed Hunter Trophy popped.
