Popular Post Sergen Posted March 25, 2018 Popular Post Share Posted March 25, 2018 While I think it is stupid that they want to close the games, considering it is not affecting them financially to keep the games up, I think the petition isn't going to work and if you wanted to get their attention then maybe you should have tried to make the petition when they initially announced the server shutdowns. Sony is responsible for shutting all of their flagship games, look at Resistance, Gran Turismo 5 + 6 and WipEout aside from Killzone. I think next year we'll also be saying goodbye to LittleBigPlanet and Modnation, if they aren't announced this year. I'll be working on the LBP games eventually and hopefully before they announce shutting the servers because I did buy the DLC before it was delisted. Never rule out the fact that a fan of the game could get the servers back up and running for these games independently, Bulletstorm and Unreal Tournament 3 have recently been fixed by a single person who has revealed how he did it publicly and how you can get on the games too. I just kind of think when it comes to Sony that they'd very likely be the first company to shut down a project that tries to restore one of their own games. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Terra Posted March 26, 2018 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Killzone 2 was launched in 2009, Killzone 3 in 2011. 8-9 years online is a good run in my opinion. It's sad to see them go but unless someone decides to take over the servers, they have to close. I still play Command & Conquer Renegade years after it's online component was shut down but several people bought servers and keep the game alive nearly 16 years after it's release. And it has nothing to do with "freeing up servers for other games" either, its purely financial decision....Sony unfortunately (unlike Microsoft) cant seemingly afford to keep the servers up and running for their old games forever. Anyhow Guerilla stopped caring about these games long time ago, heck Killzone 2 support was cut off as soon as Killzone 3 came out. Either way next time I recommend everyone to start work on online trophies as soon as Sony announces another server closure, everyone involved here had 3 months since the announcement to get these trophies done. I would also probably write like this. No need for ellipsis. And yes, lit. Nazi. Glad to see there are grammar Nazis following along too. Technically, almost all of my sentences were incomplete and I should've also capitalized the beginning of each sentence and the words I and Nazi and written lit with a period since "t" is not the last letter of literature. Several commas should also have been carefully placed throughout my post and proper punctuation was lacking but at least you didn't jump on that stuff. Thanks.
