Making my pet run away

I have detonated 3 couches my cat was sitting on, but the S.O.B. won't run away.  Any suggestions?

Try to not give attention to it or to scare it often.

 

But anyway, why do you want it to run away?

I assume they're going for the "Have You Seen This Pet?" trophy, in which you have to find your pet after it runs away.

Oh, I didn't remember there was a Trophy like that, it seems I played too much on PC.

This is pretty simple. Make a quiet, skittish animal. I used a cat for this. Have a stove and a fire alarm in your house. Start to cook something and cancel out the action. Wait a short time and a fire will start. The smoke alarm will start beeping. This will probably be enough to make your pet run away. If not, try again. Then call and report your pet missing. Not sure if this is mandatory, but I did it, so just do it to err on the side of caution. It will randomly appear on a community lot. Sometimes it takes a couple days. Don't worry, though, your pet's stats will be fine once you reclaim it.
