Popular Post Dragon-Archon
In an attempt to convince @Wdjat Prinny Doods to join, a Prinny has been hidden in the banner. Can you find it? General Information After the Let's Play Star Ocean 4 people have been joking about a LP Mugen Souls. With Mugen Souls Z coming to PS+ several members expressed their interest again in a LP MS, so here we are. I imagine some of you already know about the grindy requirements of Mugen Souls and yes, those seem to be on par with Star Ocean The Last Hope. Before you think "Screw this $#!t, I'm out!", please bear with me and continue reading. For this event it's perfectly fine to just plat Mugen Souls Z, which can be platted in 100-120 hours. Mugen Souls is about the Goddess Chou Chou, who aims to conquer her universe of the 7 colours by making the strongest heroes and demon lords her peons. She can also make enemies her peons by changing her form. In Mugen Souls Z Chou Chou sets her sights on the universe of the 12 zodiac. Through circumstances she teams up with the Goddess Syrma. Syrma can also change her form with Chou Chou's help. The goal: is to motivate as many people to try these games and to become a God(dess) by conquering that shiny plat. It doesn't matter if the game has been started or not, it'll count for this event. There's no time limit to complete the event anymore, so feel free to complete it at your own pace. Custom Trophy Rewards Those of you who manage to become a God(dess) before this event is over can choose a custom trophy as a reward. Based on which game is completed (Mugen Souls, Mugen Souls Z, or both), different trophies can be chosen. For the true masochists among masochists that stack a game, you'll get a trophy for every plat. Since there are no trophy guides on PSNP yet, everyone who writes one (including contributors) can choose an additional trophy based on which game the guide is written for. Writing a guide for both games will yield 2 additional trophies, but not the Ultimate Undisputed God(dess) trophy. That one is exclusive for people who plat both games. People that already platted Mugen Souls or Mugen Souls Z before the start of this event get a trophy for that too. Advisors get a trophy too based on the game they're helping with, though this depends on how active and helpful they are. So what are you waiting for, go plat some games, write a guide, enjoy this event, and earn some trophies in the process. Tl;dr version in case the information above is unclear: Spoiler You get a trophy for: Plat/stack Mugen Souls: 1 Undisputed God(dess) per plat, even if the game has been started/platted prior to the start of this event. Plat/stack Mugen Souls Z: 1 Ultimate God(dess) per plat, even if the game has been started/platted prior to the start of this event. Plat both Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls Z: 1 Ultimate Undisputed God(dess) in addition to the previous 2 (this is a bonus trophy). Stacking another set of MS and MSZ plats will enable you to choose another bonus trophy. Write a trophy/gameplay guide for Mugen Souls on PSNP: 1 Undisputed God(dess) for every contributor that joined the guide. Write a trophy/gameplay guide for Mugen Souls Z on PSNP: 1 Ultimate God(dess) for every contributor that joined the guide. Note: writing a trophy/gameplay guide for both Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls Z does not award the Ultimate Undisputed God(dess), this one can only be obtained by platting both games. Join this event as an advisor for Mugen Souls and help out others by answering their questions with useful information and tips: 1 Undisputed God(dess), though this trophy will be awarded when the event is finished to prevent advisors from becoming inactive. Join this event as an advisor for Mugen Souls Z and help out others by answering their questions with useful information and tips: 1 Ultimate God(dess), though this trophy will be awarded when the event is finished to prevent advisors from becoming inactive. Note: joining as a contributor for both Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls Z does not award the Ultimate Undisputed God(dess), this one can only be obtained by platting both games. Below are the trophy sets you can choose from. If your forum name is different from the PSN ID, I'd appreciate it if you'd also post which username you want on the trophy. Should you change your forum username later, the name on the trophy won't be changed. Undisputed God(dess): Obtain the Mugen Souls plat or write a guide for this game. Spoiler Ultimate God(dess): Obtain the Mugen Souls Z plat or write a guide for this game. Spoiler Ultimate Undisputed God(dess): Obtain the plat for both Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls Z. Having already joined the pantheon of Ultimate Undisputed Gods and completed the Epic Quest on his old account, he's now attempting to become an Ultimate Undisputed God again on the new account. With a new account comes a new build too: Masamune traded his triple-bladed scythe for a pair of demon twin guns, though he retains his fascination for poison, so he's once again exempted from cooking duty. In his free time he likes to compete with Dante in gun-slinging contests. Rick_Sanchez Every group needs a mad scientist to spice things up and Rick is a perfect fit. After trying to invent a time machine with his tsundere assistant and super hacka colleague, a shady and mysterious organisation attempted to kill them and obtain the machine. In an attempt to prevent this, Rick tried to go back in time to stop himself from invent the machine. However, due to the damage the machine sustained something went wrong and Rick was transported to another dimension instead. Now he's trying to conquer the universe of the seven colours to join the pantheon of Undisputed Gods. GarciaFever From second place in both season 1 and season 2 of the Trophy Hunters League in the platinum rank, to crunching some numbers in the Shonen Jump - Reborn PP, and now letting the world know of his existence through the PSNP Interviews, Garciafever has been battling through the sickness and the plague to become the person that he is today. So far, he has been struggling through the Shampuru brigade, trying desperately to join the pantheon of Undisputed Gods. Even with his vast amounts of experience with anime and JRPGs, will he be able to reach the height of trophy hunting success upon conquering Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls Z? Hall of Fame Below are the participants who have conquered various universes and became an Undisputed God(dess), Ultimate God(dess), or an Ultimate Undisputed God(dess). Izularia
I did not participate in any of the other events, but I loved reading them. Already had the platinum for Persona 5 at the moment the event started, unfortunately. I am not sure whether I want to play Mugen Souls (Z) or not, but I wanted to say that I absolutely love the awards!
NanaCheese94
Wow, that's ambitious! Honestly, even after getting the Mugen Souls Z plat, I would stay away from the original Mugen Souls. The reason is, that they are extremly similar gameplay wise (even story wise) but a lot of things have apparently been made easier and more convenient in Mugen Souls Z. One biggie would be youre able to skip event dialogs in Mugen Souls Z... and there are other things that can make the experience very annoying. I consider my guide on MSZ pretty much complete btw, regardless of what I say in the beginning of the post. But if there are more questions I'm happy to answer them in the thread. (or tweak the guide if it's not clear enough) I still have the game installed to look up things, just in case. Orphioon
I've been on and off grinding Mugen Souls for about 6 years now, i might just finally gather the motivation to finish this damn game. I have about 400hours clocked in and i only have 457k out of the required 1,005k shampuru, with the first 4 tiers (non special) maxed out as well as almost maxing out my dust bunnies and Sham Meows. Good luck to anyone trying this beast of a 100%.

Now with games like Star Ocean and White Knight Chronicles, the games are varied, Star Ocean has you grind all kinds of abilities and enemies for its battle trophies. Some of the battle trophies requires you to do unique things with characters like jump 5,555 times, kill ET within 10 minutes with Lymle, the elemental BTs that require you to synthesize unique weapons and armour specifically for it. White Knight Chronicles has you complete many different missions for the crafting materials, playing it with friends was very fun, racing to try and get the fastest big red kill really made the grind felt much faster. With Mugen Souls its literally the same thing over and over. The enemy type doesn't matter, you get so freakishly strong so quickly that its all just fodder, no special tactics, no environmental changes, its all just the hideous black and blue background of the mugen field. The same casting of the same abilities, with the same lag after each move, with the same peon ability and its obnoxious lag spike over and over and over and over and over. And don't forget the story runs, the Dust Bunny and Sham-Meow shampurus are best recieved during story line battles, so you will need to play the story over and over, i have currently 11 (IIRC) clocked in true ending completions with my current savefile, and i'm thinking its going to take bout 14-15 before i max out just those 2 specifically. And I'm not even into the bad parts of the grind yet, the higher tier shampurus need you to enter and exit the mugen field over and over for the right enemy that drops a piddling amount of the shampuru you need to grind. I do not recommend people start this 100%, unless you're some kind of trophy masochist like i am. Edited April 10, 2018 by Orphioon
GarciaFever
@Orphioon It's been several months since I last played MS, but that's pretty much the gist of it. I know that I have close to half of the list complete, maybe around 75%. I do know that I count was more than 715. In terms of grinding, I don't know what's worse, the Shampurus, or getting 20 million zeni in Dragon Ball Fighter Z.

MSZ is harder but the grind is easier and more fun. If you are going for the MS plat try to pace yourself, you'll burn out quickly if you don't.
