Guess the game based on the soundtrack

How good do you know your games soundtrack? ?

 

Instructions:

  • Go to the PSN profile of the user above you
  • Pick a random game that the user has played
  • Search a song on YouTube from that game's soundtrack
  • Post the link to the song and see if the user can guess which game it's from

 

Important:

Since posting the direct link to youtube is not ideal i found an online tool that plays the audio of the video without giving away the title / image.

So all you have to do is copy this link and add the youtube's url at the end:

Oh god this is really difficult, it's very creepy so i guess it's an horror game.

But it's unfamiliar so it's either a game that i played a long time ago or a game that i haven't finished?

 

I'm gonna guess… The Evil Within? (started it but never finished)

My first guess was it's Second Son, after I heard familiar melody. Hasn't been sure.

 

And I was right.

For some reason when i opened the link the first time it opened directly on YouTube ?

But i would have guessed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice anyway because i recently watched their developer commentaries and this song was in every video, so now i have it stuck in my mind ?

This was too difficult, i guessed Final Fantasy XV or Bioshock 1/2 but i was very far from Beyond: Two Souls (to be fair i haven't played it since... maybe 2013?)

I had an idea that it could be Nier: Automata but it took me until the voice started (1:10) to be 100% sure about it. Great soundtrack in that game!

Oh, damn, can't even guess, like it's could newer Resident Evil, but I think not R2, so may be 6. Really like a music, but can't recognize.

 

Haha, well I guess I haven't heard it may be, because I have abandoned game at the point after earth level. That was Darksiders II.

That's a pity, i think there are a lot of good songs in that game! Did you play without music because you can appreciate the sound design more or another reason? I have a friend that sometimes plays his games without music to analize the sound design (since that's his job)

Well there are two reasons. First is the brain damage from Dark Souls. When I first gasped how cool and satisfy to play medieval game in silence. Just that feeling... Primal, you and your thoughts in completely dark and unknown world, you and wind with noises of murky forest. That has changed my whole view on gaming. I have noticed that move previously in many horror games, and I'm fan of dark ambient music, but medieval RPG just in my opinion should be played this only way.

Second music there may be good, but absolutely not in the right place and wrong genre, it's not atmospheric, simply good musical ambient, instead of enveloping ambient music.

 

O.T.: Dark Souls 3, Firelink Shrine, was my first guess, and I was certain.

And I was right.

That's an interesting perspective. I don't think i could play a game (for the first time at least) without music tho.

I had absolutely no idea it was Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance because i basically never played it.

I tried it when it was free with PS+ but after the first level i decided it wasn't for me.

 

The next one is from a game with an amazing score, you are not allowed to fail ?

For a moment i thought it could be Battlefield 4 but then changed my mind seems like i made the right decision.

It was familiar at the start and i couldn't quite put my finger on it, but once about 1:30 passed I quickly figured out it was Killzone 3. Great choice!
