Honor_Hand
Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya - 2 Volumes - 13 Chapters - (2007-2008) Enjoyment Score: 8 First time reading manga, so I'm a legit newbie here. I really enjoyed my time with the Fate franchise, specifically the magical girl spinoff. Seeing that part of the manga hasn't been animated yet after the events of 3rei!! on the anime, I thought it would be a good idea to check out why people enjoy reading manga. Got a pretty cool app on my phone for this purpose. Now, not even sure as to how to review manga but I had a good time reading this. Sure, I knew well in advance what was going to happen, but I was very surprised seeing these events in a black-and-white-panel presentation. Most of the scenes play exactly like in the anime, however, the manga did provide some extra scenes and conversations that I feel added up nicely to the overall history. As for the manga itself, well, school girl Illya gets dragged into the mahou shoujo world after Magical Stick Ruby decides to break with her previous master. Together with Miyu (another girl who also ends up turning into a mahou shoujo) they must collect a series of magical cards containing the power of Heroic Spirits from the past. It all plays out like your typical magical girl series. Friendship triumphs in the end, the comedy is nice, the girls are cute, and there are some ecchi moments nicely sprinkled in but it doesn't really detract from what you would expect from the core of these types of stories. Will be reading on into this one in the following weeks hoping to catch up where the series is now. Seeing that this the first manga I read and enjoyed, I'd very much love to buy in it in physical form for collection purposes.

IceSoul21
If we're talking about a manga from start to finish, that'd be Ibitsu since I read it a few days ago. It was a short manga, it only has 13 chapters (well, 14 if you count the .50 as chapters). Now, I read that it was one of the best horror mangas out there, and while I think it was an enjoyable read which I'd rate with an 7.5/10, I didn't consider it that scary. I'd have liked if some answers given too, like: Spoiler I didn't get something. The Lolita character is actually her brother who killed all his family and took up the identity of his sister? Another thing is, why does the "Lolita" has this trauma of dressing up as his sister as well as this "big brother" complex? Also, was he a human, a spirit or what? And if we're talking about any manga, it'd be Koko wa Ima Kara Rinri Desu. It only has 6 chapters so far, but I think it's great

Yeah, that was a gut punch. Yeah, that one. Spoiler The clues are all there, but it's stuff that's easily missed the first time through. Apparently the horse looking thing in that chapter could be based on Mezu from Chinese and Japanese mythology. I never would've known had I not saw it mentioned in a comment. Whether or not there is any deeper meaning to this, I couldn't say. Also the way it's paced..how chapter 1 tricks you into thinking it's a simple gag manga, but then slowly builds with the overarching plot clues and tension from the shrine spirits and...sensei.

Currently, made my way to volume 4 & loving it just as much as the show.
