I wanted to make this thread today... Omg

Bloodborne. Can't pass first boss on the bridge (Cleric Beast). My friend who had Xbox One and wanted PS4 to play BB, always asked me why i don't play it and never understand me why i don't like it

Then he got PS4 and stuck on first boss on the bridge....... (and he completed Dark Souls before)

The only PS4 game I'm disappointed in thus far is Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness (PS+ title). Played 2 other VN's on PC; Fate/stay night, and Rewrite. Both were far better than that mess of a game. Gears of War 4 (Xbox One) is my most disappointed game. Not nearly as good as 1/2/3.

I didn't play Burnout Paradise that much when it originally released on PS3/X-Box 360. After playing the remastered, I can see why you disliked it. I enjoyed it pretty well, but I do agree on the lack of GPS and the headache of constantly needing to drive back to the beginning of an event that you may have failed

Oh man, just something about this I couldn't bear with lol. And I'm also used to just selecting tracks from a menu , there was no need for an open world!

I also 100% agree about destiny. All of my friends had a craze about this game except for me. One of my friends wanted to convince me to get it so bad he let me borrow his copy. Yea thank goodness I didn't get it!

It was nothing like Digimon World 3 or Digimon World Dusk, which were the two world games I've played. Both of them are more like Cyber Sleuth. From what I understand, the only other Digimon game like Next Order is like, is the very first Digimon World game. No matter what, you're not going to change my opinion that it's a terrible game, and that I regret ever buying it.

True, but I still only ever really saw it being compared to the first one. I didn't say I was trying to change your opinion lol You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to politely disagree.

Then why are you even commenting on it? And why have you only commented on mine? This is a thread full of disappointing games. There's a lot that people aren't going to agree with, that's a given.

Off the top of my head I can think of Dead Rising. I'm probably in the minority here, but the game just didn't click for me. The randomness and flimsy escorting missions really threw me off. Plus I hated having to restart the game from the beginning every time.

Because this is a forum where people discuss their opinions on things. If you don't want discussion, 'why are you even commenting'? I only commented on yours because it contained a game I was familiar with, and an explanation I was not familiar with. Don't get so offended.

They patched original game (ps360) and added EasyDrive option to restart race (press > on gamepad, then select restart)

Discussing things and trying to prove someone wrong are two very different things, and you were pretty obviously trying to do the latter. There's also obviously not going to be very productive discussion when you already know that both parties are on opposite sides of the fence. From what I can tell, you were the one who was offended here, as you were the one who felt the need to try and negate my opinion.

Mass Effect Andromeda. $80 for the digital version.

Forever stuck to my account, most likely will never bother finishing it for the completion. Will keep it as a reminder to never buy another BioWare title again.

Bloodborne was the first Souls game I ever played. Beat the Cleric Beast on my first attempt. (Not bragging, just giving a different perspective.)
Remember to use your gun to stun it, which will open it up for visceral attacks. It's best to stay underneath it, by its hips, and hack at it. Pretty straight forward fight.

Bloodborne should absolutely not be on anybody's list of purchase regrets. It's a masterpiece.

Yasai Ninja.

Why is the screen so small and hard to navigate? Why are the checkpoints so huge? Why is it so hard to jump in exploration mode, yet every scene involves so much 3D platforming? Why do I start over if my partner slips into the lava? Why do my attacks do almost no damage? Why are my attacks so slow? Why are the bosses the easiest enemies in the game? Why did I actually pay money for this game? It's an awful, confusing, unfair mess. I said this before and I'll repeat it- the only good thing about the game is it makes you realize how important decent level design is.

Insult Simulator

I bought it day one because it looked fun. It was fun for about 5 minutes before it got boring.

Oxenfree

Came highly recommended by a friend, but when I started it I just couldn't see the magic in it like they described it.

Eh no, I never intended to start an argument and since you were the one who became hostile, I would say you got offended. What was there to prove wrong? You hold a different opinion, opinions can't be wrong by way of being an opinion. I didn't 'feel a need' to try and 'negate' your opinion. You have obviously felt like I'm personally attacking you. But uh, whatever makes you feel better. Maybe when you're older you'll realize that people can politely disagree on something and not be aggressive.

At the moment, it's Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. It pains me to say that because HM is my favorite game series of all-time, but 80-90% of my playtime has seriously been trying to get specific scenes to trigger, with very little help from the internet. My regret, though, is going for the platinum. If I had just played the game, I might have enjoyed it, but this is one example where I would have been better off just ignoring the trophy list.

My other regret is Skyrim Remastered. If it was my first time playing it, OK, but did I really need to play through it again? Is my hatred for Nazeem so high that I would spend another 100+ hours just so I could decapitate him and drop his head in the basket with the apples in the market square one more time?

You'll know my answer when Skyrim Re-remastered hits the shelves.

Basically a decent number of PS3 games I bought years ago, and never got around to. One example is One Piece Pirate Warriors 3, no problem with the game but I bought it for like $40 and didn't get around to playing it until recently, after getting a PS4. Before playing it I saw it on the PSN store for like 10 bucks, so if I didn't buy it back then I could have played a better version for 25% of the price. I have a number of PS3 games like that, where I didn't or still haven't got around to playing them by the time I got a PS4. And I paid generally $20 - $50 for them whereas I pay considerably less on average for PS4 games in sales.

As for a game I didn't like, I guess Time and Eternity. Back cover made it sound pretty cool, and that was enough for a bargain bin impulse purchase. But it was pretty cringey and I stopped playing it after like 20 minutes, for someone who finishes 99% of their games that stands out. Tried to go back and play it recently but didn't get too far. I know this is PS4 forum but so far I only have regrets about PS3 games, maybe I'll have something else to add after clearing my backlog.

Regret "playing": Soul calibur lost souls: played for 10 min got bored AF from reading all the menus and never touched the game again. Now I'll never complete it. ?
Regret buying: Everybody is gone to the rapture: Boring piece of s*** of a walking simulator. And a plot that looks like a sex in the city sfi :P

There's a few and fortunately have most been sold:

Dead Rising 2 - A huge pain in the arse and very boring.

Fracture - Terrible game.

Tekken 6 - Not what I expected or wanted from Tekken.

Need For Speed: Undercover - Not a very good or even decent game.

Horizon Zero Dawn - Don't regret this one as much as the others but still. This was kinda boring and seemed to drag on a lot. Only enjoyed the missions in Meridian.

I've bought my fair share of bad games (or well, games I didn't like is probably more accurate), but the one game I really regret is No Man's Sky. Before the game was released, I knew exactly what the finished game was going to look like. I'm a programmer myself, and procedural (not random) generation has always been fascinating to me since Elite back in the 80s. I could tell planets wouldn't feel all that different, that the gameplay was limited to only a very few things, etc. But still, in the end, I got caught up in the hype and pre-ordered the game a week before release only to have everything I had told myself before was just true.

I don't mind buying a game that I don't end up playing a lot, or at all, but No Man's Sky always makes me a little angry at myself. xD

None?

I don't know but I have never felt any kind regret for any game purchase I've made. Not sure of why though. I have never gotten any game at their original launch price and most of the games that make up my collection have been purchased either used or new but heavily discounted. I also tend to enjoy any kind of game no matter how shitty it may be. Of course, I enjoy well-made games the most but even the so-called "bad games" out there are able to bring some form of enjoyment. Maybe, it could be that I have lower standards or a higher threshold for pain compared to other gamers.

Then, there are the cases of games that I expected more but ended up underdelivering after I played them (Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch just to name one) but even then I don't feel any regret for purchasing or playing the game. Sure, it wasn't the masterpiece I wasn't expecting it to be but at no point I felt regret for my purchase since the game is still good and has a number of redeeming qualities.

Maybe I'm just crazy lol ?

Same here and this was my very first PS4 game. Can you imagine? ?

Never got used to the clunky gameplay and the boring story. Furthermore there is not a single likable character or memorable scene...currently Im trying to finish it at least once but its not fun at all

I wasn't expecting to have a memorable story but a good gameplay. I got none. Really disappointed.

I recently bought F1 2011 for the Vita and after playing a little last night I regret it. It drives completely different than any of the PS3 F1 games. Those are always so damn pointy and direct on the input, whereas this one feels more like it is a rally game. I am sure I will complete it at some point, but the excitement I felt when I booted it up was quickly crushed when I took my first lap.

Edit: come to think of it this game handling is what WRC 5 should have been like. And that game in turn should have been called Shopping Cart Simulator. It all makes sense now.
