Do away with the averaging as it's a nightmare to maintain. Something along the lines of: - earned when 12+ games have been removed for the year. - earned when at least 6 games have been removed for the year. - earned with the 1st game removed for the year. - earned for joining the event with no backlog games removed, yet. - Inactive participants. These would reset back to bronze for everyone at the start of the year, giving the chance to strive for a fresh platinum rank every year. What does everyone think? I'm open to other suggestions for it as well (just as long as it's in the easier direction ). I like the sounds of this. I agree with @Fnee2000 on going by your rank per year and how many games you have completed off your backlog.

The only thing I would recommend for a change are the bottom three ranks. I would go... - earned with the 3rd game removed for the year. - earned with the 1st game removed for the year. - Inactive participants or those joining the event with no backlog games removed, yet. Also, maybe putting the rank that people earned the previous year under their name somehow? Ex: 2019 - 22 games removed 2018 - 7 games removed etc... I can second that, although you might perhaps opt then to rather give inactive participants the ❌ "rank" or something to still set them apart from those who just haven't completed a game yet for the year (or is that symbol perhaps a bit too harsh? ). People who are perhaps trying to complete a very difficult or grindy title will take quite long to get itdone and to then give them the same label as an inactive participant doesn't seem entirely fair. Perhaps an idea to link this system to some sort of monthly/yearly leaderboard based on the amount of completed games? And everytime the monthly winner gets the "privilege" to challenge the other participants for a monthly challenge (like complete a backlog game starting with a certain letter/number, complete a backlog game under 5%, picking 1 game for every other participant that they have to complete that month) Maybe tweak things a bit that you can't be monthly winner twice in a row perhaps or maybe set slightly different rules to become monthly winner each month to keep it interesting and "fair" for everybody. I guess these are things the participants are kinda able to monitor between themselves (if anyone is up for it at least) and wouldn't necessarily require any extra effort from you personally beside adding the leaderboard in the introduction, even though I think it might actually be something useful to keep track of this new ranking system anyway. Just an idea I had recently since I was thinking it might be fun to be a bit more involved into eachothers backlog, if that makes sense . No stakes or anyhting so no one has to feel forced into doing something they don't really feel like doing either. Let me know what you guys think! EDIT; never mind any of that, I stumbled upon an event which sorta does this already, so much for thinking I had an actual original idea ^^ EDIT#2 well I mean we might still include some sort of challenges towards eachother here as well if people are interested but we could just keep it simple so it wouldn't be that much extra work to monitor Edited June 3, 2020 by Flex_Da_Brent
Popular Post REAPER4536
Nice so I might take a look into the neptunia franchise soon (i think using the franchise list from psnp with those stages is the way to go ). I am currently heavily focusing on my backlog as PS5 stands for rip ps3 online modes IMO. I like the batman movies but I am not a huge fan of the badman games so maybe somewhen but not soon. Final Fantasy is on my list too. I will go for them but I might take my time with 1 game per year on that franchise. Probably starting with 7 or the mmorg (avoiding shut down so starting it first ). About Yakuza - I need to be in the mood for it. I have heard it's like GTA and currently, I am sadly not into it. I have never heard of the legends of heroes so I need to look them up on youtube first. Most likely I start with neptunia and FF first before I go all in to the RPGs. About this event (pre question) I have completed: Battlefield Bad Company completed - First trophy 1st November 2017 - Completed in 2 years, 7 Months Damn, I am happy to get this game finally done. That was the worst grind I have ever done in my life (BFH included). Granade spam, team kills, stupid awards, killing the entire enemy team just to get to your boosting partner once, broken servers, broken trophies (which I got before they were broken luckily), annoying trophies (20 squad spawns and also awards) and lifers who just play that game every time which get's separated in camping §%&"% who are shit after 1-2 years of game time (if you accumulate their entire game time) or just using exploits to kill you in 1 frame (no joking). Ohhh and ofc. just 2 working servers and rest are broken servers. In the end, it's DONE just BFV is missing for the franchise . I have already started Far Cry 2 and this will be my next major game to knock out of my backlog. Most likely I get Need for speed most wanted or battleborn done before FC2 because of the grind but I am on my way to clean up my list So January -> June has at least 1 finished game. Now to the question. I feel better with the system you mention because it's recording your progress way better than currently. Let's say I complete 250 games in one month then I will stay platinum forever even if I don't get games done or on the other hand. If I complete now 1 game every month then I never reach platinum again. Seeing a leader board for every year is a good overview how actively some1 gets his/her backlog done. I wouldn't mind extra events like Alphabet even (every month has a letter and we need to finish games with the same letter (starting) or having in the name of the game), or genre event (like FPS etc.). But generally speaking, I like your idea with the yearly ranks. I would rank 12 platinum, 10 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze, 1 black/hidden trophy and 0 X. Ohhh and ofc. we speak of calendar years so starting from January to December and not join wise (like March to February). One of my questions are: Are removed games games on 100% or is finishing the story/dlcs (without platinum) also a removed game?
SasquatchSaul
Almost done with Mass Effect. If anyone wants to start it make sure you're playing as the Soldier class for access to all weapons. I played as Sentinel and now I have to go back through to get 450 kills with other guns... Also need to grind 30k more xp with my level 59 character, and start two more playthroughs with engineer and adept to grind power uses. Plodding through Mass Effect 2 insanity, I was surprised to see how closely it resembles Mass Effect 1, just all the shit trimmed out. Also been playing Ratchet and Clank 3 (Nostalgia trip, own the trilogy on ps3) Ratchet and Clank A Crack In Time (Bought Ps Now in days of play, never played any of the future R&C games) Yakuza 0 (Not played in a minute, still grinding CP) Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Bought after its price drop, playing through story, new engine is fantastic!)

Popular Post Fnee2000
Finished my first game for June. It was an oldie and a goodie. I really enjoyed going through this game again. The last time was when the game first came out and on Xbox 360. Now to decide whether I want to do the challenge rooms DLC now or hold off. I never did them back in the day. However, I am reading one of them can be a real pain. Anyway, off to figure what to do next... Bioshock (PS3) - Platinum in 11 years, 3 months The first two challenge rooms were quite fun imo and manage to put the gameplay of the main game to a whole new level with very inventive puzzles so I can highly recommend to give those a shot. The last one isn't all that interesting as it's basically just one large combat arena, but it can still be fun since resources are limited so you'll have to be tactical about it. The trophy which requires you to complete it in under 15 minutes is indeed a real pain in the a** though, but it's definitely manageable with a guide showing the right strategy. It just takes quite a bit of practice to get it right, I still have to get back to that one too, I just don't enjoy speedrun trophies, they stress me out way too much. Congrats on the plat anyway! Popular Post IGUnique
Okay, I decided to go for persona 5 for my 100TH platinum trophy. Tried to finish it in may but boiii this game is long. Took me 98 hours on the safe file to get there haha but was way worth it in the end! Great game with a amazing story and every character has something. Can really recommend playing it for anyone still looking for a game they can put over 100 hours in. Popular Post Gretchen27
Going off the input thus far: - earned when 12+ games have been removed for the year. - earned with the 6th game removed for the year. - earned with the 3rd game removed for the year. - earned with the 1st game removed for the year. - earned for joining the event with no backlog games removed, yet. + removal of a section, see first response. I won't change anything until July in case there's other suggestions. @Fnee2000 I like the idea of keeping track of ranks over the years. How about changing the “Game(s) working on right now” to Previous Ranks (or some other title, just leaving that as a placeholder). That section is rarely used by most anyway. @Flex_Da_Brent No worries, nothing new under the sun & all that. The site has an event for just about everything now, but I’m for doing away with an icon for inactive participants all together. Unless I can just use a ?, jk. I think the new streak challenge is a good addition that’s pretty simple to monitor. If something else comes to mind, don’t be afraid to share it. @REAPER4536 Hope you end up liking Neptunia, & I’d imagine FF XIV would fit well with your online-centric preference. The great thing about FF though is they each have their own little quirks so it’s never entirely the same thing (Nep has a problem with this though). Exactly, a few bad months of backlog gaming & the catch up is crazy. Plus, after getting so far ahead, what’s the point then? I took the duration for granted, but you’re correct, they would be for calendar years (not join time like with the current setup). Thanks for bringing that detail up. As for your question: Yes, 100% & story/DLCs have always counted as removed games. Though story & incomplete DLC packs won’t make the cut for the monthly roundup highlights or count for say the streak challenge, that has to be at least a plat or 100%. @SasquatchSaul Would you recommend the Soldier class for Insanity difficulty on ME2? I’ve gone back to it a few times now & make it past one recruit (Garrus) then get stuck on the second recruit (usually Mordin). Or is there an easier order to getting the team back together? Clearing Insanity + 1 combat trophy is all I have left for this one. @vin_rob Yep, I’ve counted them for others before. Hit me with the list & I’ll add them in the next update. Oh, & welcome back! Keep us posted this time. @IGUnique Yay Congratulations on triple digits!

Clearing Insanity + 1 combat trophy is all I have left for this one. Mass Effect 2 is probably the hardest to do Insanity, but most classes are viable. Soldier is very versatile and has access to all weapons. I played Vanguard in 2 and had a pretty straightforward time (you really have to abuse cover when a Harbinger/YMIR mech is walking right up to you firing missiles. Vanguard gets you an armour refill every time you charge so you can always relocate during a fight. I beat Insanity on an old account with the Infiltrator, which may be even easier as you can cloak and headshot for an instant kill 9/10 times (plus you get the Black Widow Sniper on the ghost ship mission which pretty much guarantees your run). Your companions make a big difference too, I pretty much ran with Miranda the whole game as she has both Overload for shields and Warp for barriers, you want to always use squad powers on affected enemies, once theyve only got health remaining you can ragdoll them all over. Pretty much every mission has a tricky part. The Cain heavy weapon is useful for the final boss/biotic barrier section of the suicide mission, and Kasumi’s locust SMG is S tier. Finally dont import a ME2 character as the level scaling will fuck you in the early game, playing as a level 1-5 character is a much easier time. Beat ME2 the other day and started up 3, and its so much easier on insanity. Instant cooldowns so you can just spam charge/nova and clear pretty much every encounter as Vanguard. Will probably finish 3 then plat the whole trilogy together
Popular Post bruin-rocks
Guacamelee(PSVita/PS3) - Platinum and 100% achieved. First trophy December 19th 2013. Completion time 6 years 5 months. Rarity 3.75%. This game was fun. I made it so close to the end the first time I played it and that always made me not want to go back and play it, but I finally cracked. Entered the code for Hard and did everything in a single run. Some things were tough, I made sure to get the 5 orbs before tackling any of the harder DLC stuff though to make that slightly easier. Great atmosphere in the game, great music, smooth combat, awesome graphics for a Vita game. I’d give it a 8.5/10.

Popular Post Gretchen27
Here it is: Monster Hunter World complete after 2 years, 3 months. Platinum rarity 5.57% & managed to unlock it as my Level 31 trophy. I've crossed off a few games for this event that I'm very proud of & this one goes among them, but it also might just be the most time consuming. At over 300hrs, though being technical, it may have taken me around 280 if not for playing Iceborne along the way. Initially, I wouldn't have seen myself playing monster hunter, with all the other awesome titles I've yet to get around to I try not to get hung up on games with craft heavy mechanics. It's fine to chip away at leveling but a pain to relearn lots of details these types require. Turns out it wasn't a problem since I rarely strayed from MHW for too long. I ended up loving the depth a build can take, & it's only grown with the addition of Iceborne. Honestly, if it hadn't been for that expansion my completion time may have needed a few more years. The new armor/weapon sets are crazy when used on the base game. As an Insect Glaive main, my set up is built for tiring out & poisoning a monster. Not much of a heavy hitter. Cue Iceborne builds & I can hit in the triple digits, making solo hunts a hell of a lot easier. Overall, the game is stunning & I would highly recommend it as a must play on the PS4. There's no one right way to play; swords, bows & hammers there's over a dozen weapon types. The online community is one of the best cooperative bunch I've ever seen. It's gotten a little harder to get a response from an SOS flare because everyone's dispersed across all the different content, but for the most part, you shouldn't get stuck on a quest for too many attempts. I'll still be playing MHW while the events are running (already have 12 crowns in Iceborne). & my offer still stands if anyone needs help with a quest or farming for armor parts. Most of my good investigations have been deleted to make room for the new monsters, so not much for sniping unless it's an elder dragon needed. Just for comparison for when I started Iceborne vs earning the platinum: Spoiler Wonder how long that playtime will be by the time I finish the expansion. & there's a few games that have recently fallen into the backlog I'll have to add to my list: NieR Automata: a great RPG that just doesn't seem to have an end. I got stuck on a boss battle & then had to delete the game to free up some space. Resident Evil 2: just DLC left here. The one shot scenarios aren't really my thing, & I'm still busy with RE Revelations 2 at the moment. I'll come back around to it eventually. Not sure yet what to work on next. I should take @SasquatchSaul's (appreciate it by the way) Mass Effect advice & finish that, or it'll be The Witcher.

AmarisSkye
Sorry for disappearing for about two months. I finished a game in April but it didn't qualify for this event. I hadn't played my PS systems at all in May or for most of June because I was busy putting 900 hours into Animal Crossing New Horizons. I am hoping to finish my 50th platinum by the end of the month with Beyond Two Souls. I just need the trophy for playing through the entire game in two player mode and I am done. I would also be content with God of War being my 50th platinum if I can beat the last Valkyrie but I have been trying to do that for years. Either way, I like the new ranking system and I am very glad to be back. I'd also like to add two games to my to be completed list: Death Stranding (36%; Started November 2019) Gravity Rush Remastered (3%; Started November 2019) Edited June 22, 2020 by AmarisSkye
Popular Post AmarisSkye
Finished a game for June late last night/early this morning. I probably could have finished this game back in July 2018 if I had done one of my first two playthroughs in Duo Mode. That was the one trophy I needed to get but after playing through the whole game twice and through portions a few times, I was reluctant to play it again. The bulk of my trophies for this game were gotten between July 9 through July 17th of 2018. Beyond: Two Souls All 46 Trophies 23rd June 2020 • Platinum in 1 year, 11 months First trophy: 9th Jul 2018 Spoiler Honestly, if David Cage wrote better games than I probably would have finished it back then. Between the rape scene, the traumatic childhood events, multiple instances of suicidal ideation and the gross romance with Ryan Clayton (he is at least in his early twenties when he meets Jodie who is 14) that culminates in a kiss near the end of the game even if you do try to blow him off after he manipulates you into killing a democratically elected leader - it seems that when David Cage doesn't know how to get a point across he tries to force trauma porn and abuses to drive the plot with minimal success. That being said, I love the work the Quantic Dream team did on the game as well as Ellen Page's acting and I actually really enjoy the gameplay of these types of games. That's why when I couldn't beat the Valkyrie Queen in GoW, I decided that Beyond Two Souls would be my 50th Platinum.

I would just recommend fighting the Valkyrie Queen on whatever the easiest difficulty is... I crushed her on Normal first try, but I'm a loser and play a lot of games LOL so if you're having trouble, I think Easy wouldn't be too bad at all. Just double check your settings... cause if its on Normal, then it might help. Edited June 24, 2020 by Leigrez
