Popular Post be_minor
It's my first addition to this event, and I'm really excited to be able to add two games that've been in my backlog for years. Neither of them are difficult, but with games like these, the difficulty comes from lacking the motivation to complete them, at least for me. So, thanks for the motivation!Never Alone (NA) First trophy: April 14th, 2015 Last trophy: Sept. 8th, 2020 Completed in: 5 years, 4 months Technically I 100% this back when it was one of the PS+ games of the month. It was my first month with both the service and a PS4. After perusing my uncompleted games for this event, I noticed I needed to playthrough the Foxtails DLC to re- 100% it. Simple, straightforward story and trophies. I’d recommend it for anyone that likes short, cheap platformer/ narrative combos. Grim Fandango Remastered First trophy: Jan. 11th, 2016 Last trophy: Sept. 20th, 2020 Completed in: 4 years, 8 months A nice little puzzle/ narrative game with some humor and memorable characters. Some of the puzzle solutions were convoluted, but with a guide, it’s an easy plat to add to the collection.

Popular Post Gretchen27
One game accomplished this month with Drive Girls at 6 months, 2 weeks. Honestly, it was all I could manage. September was a not so fun turmoil of a month in my personal life & I didn't find any interest in my hobbies. Which in hindsight, probably didn't help matters. I'm working on it though, & plan to spend more time on things I enjoy (don't worry, that still includes gaming). Drive Girls is a bland, button mashing female transformers knockoff. To put it simply, it's bad. I'd never recommend it be added to anyone's vita collection. I picked it up originally on a whim because it was on the vita & I didn't do my research. Then it sat on the shelf until it shined for KYC. After an hour of playing, it becomes apparent how mediocre this game is. The voiceovers are fine, story thread bare & uninteresting. Combat voiceovers are horribly repetitive & annoying (I cut them off in under a half hour). The game does a bad job of explaining mechanics. Which leads to researching on your own, but the player base is so small answers were hard to find. I made it through the story mode during KYC & was so burnt out afterward I put it back on the shelf. It's one of those games with some post game content, requires you do every offline/online (or ad hoc in my case) mission, & collect every in game item for the platinum. Not a fun feat. I am happy it's off my list. Resonance of Fate is still on deck, since about the end of July really. No progress to report for this month other than a handful of matches out of the 500 required in the arena. My total progress for that is over the halfway mark. I think every time I play it I'll aim to complete 1 rank (there's 50). That way I might have a shot at finishing it this year. I've still got a post game dungeon that seems impossible at the moment, but should be doable after grinding all those arena matches. & a second story playthrough which I'm looking forward to. I've got backlog additions as well. All but 1 (Drive Girls) from my KYC participation earlier this year. Kinda disappointed carrying over that much, it is what it is though. The games are:Monster Hunter World: Iceborne: yeah, that I'm not surprised to see roll over the 6 month mark. Base game only took like 2 years, maybe I can beat that with this one (*delusional expectations abound).Borderlands 3: I've noticed my approach to this series follows a pattern. Every single one I've started, I play through until a stopping point in the story -or a boss stops me - & then never jump back in. Like it’s an arcade game & I've walked out of the building. Eventually the urge for Borderland's mayhem will return.Bad Apple Wars: or snooze fest school time stalemate. This one currently holds the penultimate spot for worst VN in my listings. I think I've read 2 out 5 routes so far, finding the last couple chapters in each somewhat interesting. No idea when I'll get around to finishing them.Exist Archive: I love this game. & I also find this game aggravating. On the one hand, it's a beautifully crafted RPG (not just in looks, though those are a plus too), but it’s also a broken mess. I've put in 60+ hours since starting & have had dozens of crashes. My biggest loss was about 3 hours of gameplay. After that I wised up to saving at every opportunity. I've found the game crashes because of too many combat actions at once. Which is a shame considering its such a unique system.Spider-Man: in my defense, this was my top pick for KYC. & the reason I haven't gotten back to it is because I wanted to set aside time just to play this. At the time, I couldn't commit more than an hour to playing & I wanted to take my time & enjoy the game. When I get a weekend to binge out, this'll be my top choice. The Evil Within 2: I've returned to the animus - I mean stem... with conflicting results again. You can read my impressions here (it's nowhere near as long as when I finished the first one).Ni no Kuni: this is one I'm disappointed in letting fall through the cracks. Such a fun RPG, like Spider-Man though, it didn't fit into my tight schedule at the time. After RoF, this'll be my main PS3 focus. I'll catch everyone's stuff up in the update. I might be able to get to it Thursday, or if not, the summaries going to be a little late. @Phantochi Welcome! I’ll add you in. Best of luck with DMC, those can be tough. Berendsapje
Well, guess I'll write something stating where I currently am in terms of this challenge, having nothing to report otherwise. I started a couple of new games this month, and only one game would be eligible for this challenge. That would be Nascar 14, but my saves were wiped and I need every bit of restraint I have to not throw it into a wall. One more question, while I was added on like the 1st of September, I actually asked at the end of August, and I do have a game that can count for August. So can that be added instead? Game in question is Madden NFL 18. Means I have at least something to show for my "efforts" On 31-8-2020 at 1:11 AM, Berendsapje said: Can I join in on the fun too? I don't wanna consider myself as "inactive" because I will still game every now and then, just not as frequent as I used to be able to. Popular Post AUSTRALIANDJ
Here is my September round up. Productive month with some painful grinds completed. Final Fantasy X (4 Years 8 Months) 13th January 2016 Close to my favourite game of all time. Played it on the PS2 and got to the end game then started it back in 2016, but unfortunately deleted my 100 hour save file because I didn't relaise it was packaged in with my X2 data that I deleted. Aside from that beautiful game, apart from the story being a little bit cringy I cant speak highly enough of this game. The Dark Aeons are a challenge though as well as lots of grindy accolades throughout. Recommend for all! Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (2 Years, 11 Months) 27th Oct 2017 Close to my second favourite game of all time. Also completed it on the PS2. SOme of the hunts on this game are problematic requiring particular scenarios for them to spawn. The unique thing about this one was that I was stuck trying to do a miscellaneous concurrence trophy after the grind was complete which took me a few frustrating days. Interesting battle system in this one that I quite liked, and the fast forward function definitely speeds this one up! Yakuza 0 (6 months 1 day) 19th Mar 2020 I swear I didn't let this one just pass the 6 month mark it just happened. Beautiful story - despite the japanese conversation I was really interested in this story. Loved having to learn Mahjong and a few other Japenese gambling games as well. The dancing was enjoyable although the Climax Battles were very tough - Probably an 8.5 difficulty tough. Need to know your way around combat mechanics to make it through this one. Moving on to Yakuza Kiwami soon. Also completed Knack 2, Road Bustle and Foul Play this month that were inelligible for the backlog event. Also made great progress on The Division 2 and Helldivers, making the next few months of the backlog challenge look attainable.

I dont know why instopped playing it it was very good think about getting rayman legends now jacob jones after 7 years 1 month with a guide this takes 2h. I played it without one the first time and of corse missed some of the soda cand and birds andnever was in the mood to do it a second time hell yeah! After 7 years and 11 months in this game there is a casiona were you need to win the checkpot for a trophy. I kinda got annoyed with it and stopped playing because i hated this random trophy in the end it took my 3minutes to hit the checkpot and the rest of the game was big fun 4 games for this months currently i am working on strider and xeodrifter which i hoped to get done within this month but i also started metro last light to finally get the good ending which took until last night also i play anthem with a friend which i also hope to get done within oktober To have another 4 games done
Popular Post Fnee2000
Wrapped up my first October game. A game that has been dogging me for nearly 2 years but today I decided to get it good and done. It's not an overly hard game, I just had issues with the touchy controls, frame rate, and hit detection of the Vita version. Anyway, first game cleared from my list very early this month. Off to see what I can wrap up next... 36 Fragments of Midnight NA (Vita) - Completed in 1 year, 9 months
Popular Post AUSTRALIANDJ
Ive also double dipped and sorted an October game. World of Final Fantasy (12th Nov 2016) 3 years 10 months 3 weeks Really dont want to talk about this game right now. Overall I wouldn't say i enjoyed having to collect every treasure chest and mirage in the game. Lesson learned dont start too many RPGs.

Popular Post Phantochi
Alright, finally managed to checked off my first game, which is DMC Devil May Cry. Just like every other dmc game, you have to beat it almost 136 times, and just like every other dmc game, when you hop in higher dificulties you start to regret some of your life decisions. It was pretty hard, but i had lots of fun, now i'm only missing part 4 on the whole series, but i'll do it in the future, and i mean my next life future. First Trophy: Jan 12, 2020. Platinum: Oct 02, 2020. Been working through Batman Arkham Knight as well, hopefully it'll be my second game for this month
Popular Post bruin-rocks
Hello everyone, after completing 114 backlog games according to this event, I am weaning out of it. I proposed a challenge at the beginning of this year to complete at least one back log game a month, everyone has been working hard and doing very well, I didn’t think I’d get much traction on the idea. I plan on finishing out this year, and the challenge I proposed, but, I’m getting burnt out. So starting in 2021 I will be backing out of this event so I can start working on new games, some that I have never played before or others I want to go back and replay, my desire to earn trophies is dwindling. I’d like to give a big thank you to @Gretchen27 for keeping the event going strong, I’d also like to give a big thank you to both @Psy-Tychist for unknowingly being my motivation to complete so many games(I remember a time when you had the most games completed in the event), and also @Fnee2000 for assisting me in a few games and also providing motivation to keep completing games. A final shout out to my closest friend on Playstation @Unwanted_Kermit, he was my trusty sidekick on many of my games, Black Ops 3(My first and favourite backlog game), Black Ops 4, Ghosts, Destiny, Killing Floor 2, Resident Evil 5 and 6, Rainbow Six Siege, I could go on, but, I’ll cut it short there. To any one I missed thank you as well for participating and keeping this event alive. I will keep updating for the next three months, and after that I will continue to keep an eye on everyone’s progress! Fnee2000
@bruin-rocks I hear you loud and clear on this. I was gung ho at the beginning of the year trying to earn 1000's of trophies a month while also trying to clear out as many backlog games as I could. Toward the middle of the year it started to wear thin and my motivation took a nosedive. I just decided to refocus and play what I wanted, rather than force more and more backlog games. This is why, in recent months my backlog completions have been on the easier side. So, I applaud you ? for stepping away to work on that new game backlog! I am sure the trophy hunting itch will rear its head again at some point in the future. Plus, 114 backlog games removed is beyond awesome! You sited me as a motivation but I have to say you have been a driving force to keep me going as well. Also, always happy to help when I can. If there is a new game that has co-op and you need help with it, let me know. In the end, it's all about having fun and if you aren't having fun, then something is wrong and it is time for a change...
Popular Post Gretchen27
@bruin-rocks It'll be sad to see one of the last handful from the original event depart, but you gotta do what's best for you. I think most of us fall into the same category at some point, especially with the strain this year has brought. While away that unplayed backlog at the pace you enjoy. After all, gaming is a pastime hobby meant for fun. There's no need to force completions (still I know you'll finish out the year strong). You've conquered plenty of phenomenal games over the years & that was only possibly by starting said games. The event is always open if your mindset shifts back to cleanup. I hope your love of games continues strong through the years! & please know you've been a motivator for many of us (myself included) to continue working on our backlogs no matter the associated difficulty or how many incomplete games we may have.
Popular Post AUSTRALIANDJ
@bruin-rocks all the best mate! It's important to make healthy changes when needed. Something I should certainly take a leaf out of your book with. Besides that I've topped another 2 games for October Tom Clancy's The Division 2 (7 months 4 days) 29th February 2020 I did enjoy this game, and I liked the amount of endgame content and levelling. However, the storyline and graphics left a bit to be desired. Bought this game because I loved Washington DC but it didn't really reach the heights I wanted it to. Levelling screen probably made me complete this in 7 months. Super slow Dragon Quest Heroes: World Tree and the Blight Below (4 Years 9 months) 26th December 2015 I'm a big fan of the dragon quest series, but I can't see myself revisiting this style again. The 3D slash and crash combat did a number on my eyes, and it did end up being super grindy at the end. I'd recommend playing the Journey of the Cursed King on PS2 though. - Ripper title. Anyways happy to have 2 more RPGs down. I'll try and get rid of Kingdom Hearts and Ni No Kuni soon. See ya later list cloggers!
