As long as the game is available in both PS Stores with the same CUSA Code it should work if both countries are withing the same region. In your case, both France and Italy belong to EU region PS Stores, it might also work with Australia & New Zealand stores too. The same happens with a code for USA, it normally works with an account from Canada or Mexico. Also works on several Latin America accounts.
