Is there a max level?

Just picked this game up today and I do enjoy it for what it is.  But I am curious on if there is a max level in the game, and in turn, if I can get my attack and stamina in particular, maxed out, or at least a better level.  Mainly because needing to take more hits

Not sure about a MAX level but I was at level 19 and it was easy to beat any boss! I did max out my Armour and Got one of the last weapons!

Ah, thanks for that.  The first boss was a bit annoying, but I made another runthrough from level one to get enough money to get more things to help take damage and deal more damage.  So I might focus a bit more on strength for now... but of course, trying to buy the armour and weapons in particular

 

Knowing what to do on the Vita version would also help me in advance for when I tackle the PS4 version too

And make sure you upgrade the slasher hit few times forgot what it was called but when you get to upgrade the 3rd one lol It helps out alot;)
