Popular Post NanaCheese94
Man, I wish they would release these games as an HD collection or separately. I completely missed out on the complete PS2 era... Who else would be down for this revival?
skateak
I wish this would happen. I have all three on disc and bought them digitally for PS3 too. One of my favorite franchises. My brother, his friend and I played the first game when we were all super young and it scared the hell out of us. Loved it since then.
SkyMason
I've played none of these games, and it's a shame because I think I'd love them, really into that kind of aesthetic for horror games. I'd kill for at least the first 3 ported to the PS4 in some form.

I may look into getting the ones available on PS3 then, which one do you have? It is kind of hard to keep track, because the name of the series changes and I'm not sure they were all released in Europe. 1 minute ago, SkyMason said: I've played none of these games, and it's a shame because I think I'd love them, really into that kind of aesthetic for horror games. I didn't have that feel of unease with any other horror game.

I'll probably have to import those though. They don't seem to have trophies, at least I can't find them on this psnps list of games
melbye82
Nintendo owns the franchise now so ports or a collection would probably happen on Switch
Undead Wolf
I missed out on these games too and I'd love to play them. As previously mentioned, though, Nintendo co-owns the IP, so the chances that some kind of remaster comes to PS4 are basically zero.
yellowwindow7
even if it's just a ps2 on ps4 emulator with trophies support would have been cool I don't care if it doesn't have a platinum, would be great to have the trophies of the series in my trophy list. it's so sad that Nintendo own the IP now, meaning Sony can only port the original 3 ps2 games if they could, but other than that as something like an HD Remaster or a Remake will never gonna happen on ps4 as they'll basically gonna be a Switch exclusive. put insult to injury, just when the series started to became so popular outside of Japan Nintendo step in locked it back to Japan and killed the series off with the last entry maiden of the black water... what a shame. that was one of my most favorite series of game on Playstation

I heard the game that came out for the Wii wasn't that good. So I would be more than happy with a HD collection of 1-3 on PS4

So I would be more than happy with a HD collection of 1-3 on PS4 that's weird, and I thought Fatal Frame: Mask of Lunar Eclipse did well especially since it was on the console that sold like candy back then, pretty sure that one of the major reasons why the series died so quick on Nintendo's platforms is because the install base of the series 90% of them is on the Playstation platforms. Hm, you are right, according to Wikipedia it's even the best selling title of the series, but still did badly compared to other Wii titles. It probably just really isn't the right game for a Nintendo Platform. They aren't exactly known for games that are Horror. I think Silent Hill Downpour was also on the Wii and didn't do very well compared to others.
HellcoreFire
I thought there was a new one coming out for PS4 but I just looked it up and I must be confusing it with another franchise of which I can't remember the name of for now. But there seems to be a game inspired by Fatal Frame and Clock Tower coming out on PS4 and Vita next year. But it's from a Kickstarter and will be 2.5D, though. Paleblood
A long time I pretended to be interested in those games, but when I actually watch gameplay I get extremely bored. Guess they just aren't for me. J

But on the other hand, watching a let's play often misses the full quality of the soundtrack and SFX, which can do a loooot for immersion. And PC screens usually have higher brightness than a TV screen.

VashDagon
well i will buy ps4 when Last of Us 2 will be released. Only then. If today Project Zero aka Fatal Frame 1,2,3 would be released on ps4 with trophy support i would buy ps4 like today. I also dont understand why Silent Hill series are not available on ps3/4 except for SH 2 and 3. SH Sattered Memories or SH Origins are my fav. Konami could get some extra cash but what for..better to do silent hill pinball machines. And yes, Fatal Frames for ps3 are only on usa psn store. Leon Hasegawa
I just talked to my friend @killivincent about horror game and movie a few hours ago, one of the topics was Fatal Frame, then I saw FF thread in unreleased game forum. I was happy for a few seconds because I thought the thread would mention that they finally decided on releasing these games on PS4, but nope . I still have FF1-3 CIB. I also bought FF1-3 PS2 classic to play them on PS3 when they were on sale. Hopefully, I can find a cheap Wii U somewhere to play FF5, it is the only reason I may buy Wii U. Watching FF4 with English patch on YouTube is also interesting. But yeah, I love to see them all available on PS4. It will be perfect if they release them physically as well. But Nintendo.....damn.... As an Asian, I think ghost/evil spirit is the interesting concept due to beliefs and religion. Because of that reason, FF is the most scary game I ever play. I'm not Asian, but I'm fascinated by the ghost stories and folklore that comes from all the different Asian countries. There are many little gems, like lately I saw a Thai video game that had some really interesting concepts, but I can't remember the name sadly. I feel like we desperately need a revival of the Asian horror game in general. The Evil Within is just not cutting it imo (it's way too western imo, just like SH)

The Evil Within is just not cutting it imo (it's way too western imo, just like SH) There is an Indonesian horror game which has the same concept as FF's, but the main character uses the smartphone's camera to attack the ghost/evil spirit. It is Dreadout, a PC game which was released in 2014, there is English dub/sub version as well. I highly recommend this game in case you play PC games. Sadly, there is no PS4 version even they did announce it a long time ago. Here is the short gameplay video: Since you are interested in Asian horror game, how about White Day: A Labyrinth Named School? A remake of old Korean horror PC game which was released in NA and EU last year.
Katt
In the moment Nintendo took this franchise, it was like it died, just like the people in the game. Fortunately, I have the games in my PS3 and that's all I need now.

Dreadout looks great too, but I can't really play on the PC sadly I'll have a look on youtube^^ thx for the suggestion!
