What is going on with this trophy?

It keeps reducing the amount of magic i've collected, I was on 33 and now i'm on 19

A few people have mentioned this bug now, makes me a little nervous as It will be unlikely that Sega will patch in a fix for it, as this game is a direct port from a Steam release back in 2010.

oh dont say that, its the last trophy I need

I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling, I just collected some magic at 35 and it reduced my total to 34

I've figured out a work around

 

Uninstall the game

Restart the game but don't let the patch install

Start Golden Axe 1

Use your magic so you have no magic

Fight to the first little blue guy that gives you magic

Hit him and collect the magic

Rewind the game and collect the magic again

repeat 200 times

Trophy pops

You would think these guys wouldn't have a problem releasing a collection of old Genesis games without issues.

 

Might as well wait for a patch that does fix this issue.

Got the trophy without any problems. Just did what Longview01 said :

1. Started Golden Axe 1 (I was still starting the game so I didn't uninstall and I already had the latest patch installed);
2. Used Magic to defeat the first two enemies;
3. Defeated the two purple enemies that appear after the previous ones;
4. Made a Quick-Save while the screen was scrolling;
5. Hit the blue magic guy that appears twice to make him drop two magic vials and he'll run away;
6. Collect the two vials, use Quick-Load and repeat until trophy unlocked.
