schicic
What would be the difficulty of this platinum in this fine communities opinion? In a scale of 1-10. I am planning on getting the game whether it is difficult or not. I mean, I love RPGs.
Keyser Soze
4/10 in my opinion, depends if you have a good team, crown trophies are time consuming.
dunbay
It's a very fun game. It's definitely a core RPG game.I'd say the same, 4/10 or 5/10. Just know before picking it up, i only went for trophies and really didn't do anything else besides that, it's extremely grindy but you must must must have patience on crowns because its entirely rng and that's the make or break to get the platinum. If you can handle that, you'll love this game, i promise.

ShinigamiSensei-
Great game, EXTREMELY BORING PLAT!! 200+ hours and still grinding...i think i'll just wait for the events for the remaining crowns. I hate fighting Lavasioth...
Edunstar84
game is 4/10, getting the plat 7/10. You'll be grinding a lot for those crowns. My advice is to find a great group to play with. It is a fun game. Hope you buy it.
FrickinTay
Its not a hard platinum whatsoever, coming from someone who is new to MH. As everyone has said, the plat is luck based for the most part with those dang crowns. Some people get them within a couple hundred hours or takes them doubled, maybe even tripled that time. Its honestly kinda putting me off from getting the plat, but thats just me, I dont like grinds that are pure luck. Other than that, its a really fun game and worth the buy even if you dont plat.
MagusCreed
Took me 330 hours to get the platinum. You really have to take advantage of the crown events when they happen, otherwise you could be in for an even longer grind. On 5/29/2018 at 11:44 PM, fabiansc83 said: I hate fighting Lavasioth... You and me both, his fight is just downright dull and prolonged with his diving under the lava lake.
PeachyJacobs
Probably around a 4/10. Nothing in the game is overly difficult. Every now and then you briefly hit a wall where it is tough to progress until you are better equipped but nothing too bad. It's a long journey though. It's a 2/10 difficult game, but for Platinum Status, you're looking at a 5/10 difficulty. There's A LOT of stuff you'll need to learn. I'm 730 hours in the game with 1 crown & 48 Arena matches away from Platinum and the other day, I learned something new. Like, you can shoot REDPITS in front of Kirin and he'll stop to eat them, giving you plenty of time to line up to him and measure yourself to his heigth. Regardless, I never got this game cause of difficulty or trophies. I got it cause it is a TON OF FUUUUN! SO GO GET IT AND ADD ME, I'll SHOW YOU THE ROPES: @dokkanexpert on PSN.
ldt1982
I would say it's a 4/10. I don't think it's hard at all but it is very time consuming. I strongly advise you to grind the events to get the crowns because in my experience the endless grinding of investigations is very tedious unless its for elder dragons. jaehyun1009
Actual difficulty wise I'd rate it 5/10 if you're playing solo for story missions since few monsters can be a bitch to overcome, especially Diablos and Nergigante. if you have someone helping you along the way I'd rate it 3/10 at maximum. But it's mostly a huge time sink. If you do factor time and luck into difficulty for various reasons I would be looking at a 6/10 and not more only because I enjoyed the game but that's just me. Took me 250 hours on the clock to get the platinum, probably add 50+ hours resetting for crowns and jewels - latter not needed for platinum but I did it anyways just because I like the game. For the sake of this post, S = Silver, G = Gold, B = Bronze. I recommend the following: (1) Only use these types of investigations for your large/small crown (non-elders): 2S/1G, 2S/2G/2B & the #1: 2G/1S (2) For Elder Dragons, I actually got them all with 2S/1G/1B investigations (3) ALWAYS CHECK OTHER MONSTERS! Literlly, about HALF the crowns I got were from other monster investigations. Example: You have a 2G/1S investigation for Rathalos/Pink Rathian/Diablos (You need a crown for Diablos but also need one for Anjanath who is on the map) -- make sure you hunt the Anjanath first, then the Diablos. Then (4) you can "quit" w/o fighting anything else. You'll need to select "RETURN TO CAMP" and never the "Abandon Quest" option. (5) Make sure you save to your cloud when you have TOOOOOONS of investigations for some crowns. If you go thru ALL those investigations w/o a single crown, load up that save, This is called "save scumming" -- I did have to do it for Kushala Daora since I only had two 2G/2S & three 2S/1G/1B investigations. This bitch is so tough, it took THREE WHOLE DAYS of reverting to cloud saves cause the crown wouldn't show up. (6) USE YOUR TAILRAIDERS FOR INVESTIGATIONS!!!!!!! I'm pretty certain the 2S/1G/1B investigation I got came from a Tailraider in the Forest. You can get Elder Dragon investigations from tailraiders not to mention good investigations for other crowns. Just choose where you send wiseley. And keep a "watchful eye" on the 5 investigations you get when they return so you know where to send them. That's all I can think of to help with your crown hunt. You can use my channel http://www.youtube.com/dokkanexpert for some sizing videos. I highly recommend subbing to my buddy @A_B_Y_S_S_1's channel: https://www.youtube.com/gamingwithabyss -- he has great measuring videos. I used his videos for the second half of my crowns. schicic
I got the game and it is pretty fun. It reminds me of metal gear with stealth mechanics, so I'm glad I made my character look like Snake. I haven't really got to play it except late at night because the remote play on PC seems to not work at the moment.

It seems fairly petty to argue about something like that since its in tutorials but alright, lets do this. -You can evade detection by hiding in bushes, or leaving the monsters line of sight. As such, hiding in bushes will take monsters out of "alert" phase and enter a serch phase where it is trying to find you. -There are armor skills that increase your stealth, making it harder for monsters to see you -There is a ghillie suit tool that should probably scream at your face telling you that it has some stealth involved in the game. -Several stealth tutorials. Stealth is more of a playstyle than anything on this game, but it is there. So i must ask, whos on drugs?
