So I either suck at the game so bad or I'm missing something.

I'm by no means good at this game but I'm riding the hard difficulty too much for me in the career mode.

I really don't want this to be a platinum blocker after the amount of grinding I've done for the belts.

 

Is there anything that I can do to help? 

And yes I do plan on getting better at the game but anything else at all?

I believe the easiest way is to create a heavyweight submission specialist fighter. Upgrade your grapple and go for submissions. You shouldn't have any problem taking down opponents and submitting them minutes into the match until like your 10th fight. 

 

Choose opponents with a bad grapple skill.

I maxed my stats before I got lucky with the final match in Top Contender division. Just close the app when you lose so you can retry the match.

The easiest way to get this is by making a submission specialist in the heavyweight division, get your arm triangle to level 4 when you can. Single leg then go for submission immediately, and once you’re going for the submission you have to pause like a mad man to see where they’re gonna move next so you can block it. It works on every fighter other than guys with super high grappling stats like Verdum.

May I add that it works great also in other weight classes, especially females.
