Popular Post rosst-canada
I don't know if this will get seen by many people, but I wanted to speak my praises for this enjoyable little game, and maybe convince some of you to play it. If you're smart enough to own a vita (?) in particular, there's plenty to enjoy. King Oddball is extremely simple in its nature. During the levels, you release a ball from the titular king's tongue in an attempt to clear the level of tanks, helicopters, and any other enemies in your path. You can reset the game at a moment's notice by pressing SELECT. A single 10 second YouTube video would do the trick in terms of explaining its mechanics, as would the following trailer: Where my recommendation for this game comes from is in its amount of content. For such a simple game, there is A LOT of meat on its bones. Over a hundred levels are available in the normal campaign, which you essentially play three separate times - with some fresh takes on its formula -, and along the way you'll unlock two mini-campaigns that task you with using just one rock, or grenades instead. Trophies are documented in game as well as on the system, which I find to always be a nice touch, particularly with indie games. Simple, long, and well-optimized, the game is just fun to whip out at a moment's notice and is therefore a great fit for Vita. If, like me, you enjoy chipping away at completionist tasks whilst listening to podcasts or watching a TV show, I recommend you jump into it. You could probably play the game for 12 to 15 hours if you go for the 100%; I have something like 30 diamonds (end-game collectibles) left to go after maybe 10 hours of play. In terms of trophies there might be no platinum but it serves as a surprisingly rewarding 100% if you get through it all. A couple of them are difficult. Be ready to trial-and-error 'Golden Five' for a while in particular. All in all, 10Tons made a fun little game that's great to bust out when binge-watching your favourite show and a game worthy of the PS Plus lineup. At 22 megabytes (I think), what do you have to lose?
StrickenBiged
Hmmm. I can imagine some particularly irate, warm blooded, egg laying, feathered vertebrates having something to say about that gameplay.

Its hard to put a patent on physics The game is on my list for sure, I just haven't had opportunity / need to play my PSV for a while.

MMDE
King Oddball is pretty good indeed. Doing all levels with one stone or one stone less or whatever it was, that can be a bit frustrating and overwhelming at first. If you like this game, definitely check out their other games: https://psnprofiles.com/games?publisher=3152-10tons-ltd They usually do a pretty decent job with the games. I enjoyed Tennis in the Face and Neon Chrome even more than King Oddball. Tennis in the Face is often on sale at a pretty damn low price, and Neon Chrome has also been PS+ game. Totally forgot they made Sparkle 2 as well, which I also enjoyed, but beware it takes a little while. I have second fastest 100% time, and that's 8 days. lulz Takes like 20+ hours IIRC. Weren't those particularly irate, warm blooded, egg laying, feathered vertebrates a bit of a ripoff themselves?

I suppose, but it's much harder to reference the more obscure browser game, which also didn't have characters, as such, who might be able to take a view on anything, let alone the gameplay of King Oddball. In any case, I don't think Oddball was as successful as flinging Turds. @rosst-canada I was definitely expecting a negative thread based on the title. Glad I was wrong. This was definitely anawesome game. I recommend it all day long. I bought it prior to it being on ps+ though. I actually wasn't aware it had separate trophy lists, so when I started it on the vita after getting 100% on the 3, I was pleasantly surprised when trophies started popping. I was just going to enjoy it on the vita for kicks since I had recently been given one at the time.
MMDE
It's pretty obvious 10 Tons Ltd are taking a lot of inspiration and ideas from other popular and successful games, but they mostly take the best from those games and make their own twist on it. The games don't just feel as much like a quick cash-in as one would expect, pretty obvious some time and love has been put into the games.
