Majorly slacking so u coming paste of previous event for now. 

 

Welcome back for another exciting edition of the Kill Your Completion series. Most of you probably have an idea of what goes on here, but if you are new to the site or this corner of the forums, here's the previous edition of the thread. https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/54111-kill-your-completion-v/

 

 

The Premise
Participants will each choose a list of 5, 10, or 15 0% games from their backlog and post them here so everyone can follow along. These games don't have to be pre loaded on your profile, as long as you own them already and haven't earned a trophy they count. Participants will start a new game from that list every couple days for the next month. o.O They WILL then post their thoughts on each game, and write a short review on the final day for each game. This can take any shape or form each person desires.

 

I think the last event so I'm going to keep the game list guidelines the same. I would prefer people do 5 games for 6 days each, 10/3, or 15/2, but if you have a valid reason for only being able to do 8 or 12 games, that would be acceptable. I would like if people could be a little more prompt with their reviews. I understand stuff comes up. However, if every single review is three games rolled into one, 4 days late, you're not trying very hard.  I also like to see people get the minimum 3 hours per game, so I feel like more than 15 games would be cutting each one too short, I don't really care if you have no life and can do 5 hours every day.

Requirements to Join
Psnprofiles member for 1 month (or premium member)
Backlog of at least 5 un-started games
Desire to be part of something fun. 
A complete and utter dis-regard for your completion rate (for the next month)

How to Join
Say you want in
Post your list of the games YOU ALREADY OWN that you haven't started.
Post your completion percent for S&G.

Game Selection Suggestions
These are just suggestions, this will have no bearing on you being added to the event. These are just things that I think make for a more interesting selection of games overall.
- Variety is The Spice...: Try to avoid having more than 1 or 2 of the same type of game on there.
- Try Something New or Different - A list filled with AAA games/remasters that you've already played, from only two different series, is boring.
- Don't choose all games that all have average completion times under 10 hours: You're not fooling anybody. Sneaky participant is not sneaky.

This will be my definitive list, and it should offer enough variety. Now I just need to figure out with what game to kill the time until the event starts .

As much as I'd love to participate in events like this, I have a nasty habit to play for a while every single game I own and in most of the cases, I have at least one trophy in most of my games :(.

It's been a year since I participated in one of these and it's nice to see it still going.  I've been feeling the urge to take the plunge again lately, so let's do it.

 

Here's my list:

9. God of War (2018)
10. The Banner Saga 3*

*The Banner Saga 3 is supposed to be released by then, but if not, I'll find something else to replace it with.

 

 

There's a lot of meaty games there, so it's going to take a while to recover.  It looks like the worst case is around -10% to my completion percentage, but I'll try to do better than worst case.    On the bright side, my backlog will be empty after this (excluding PS+ titles).

I already mentioned it in the old topic:

After a year long break from this it's time to go back as my completion rate is out of control and even though I have a lot of unfinished games it keeps rising. That has to change and to be honest, there are a lot of games I finally should give a try and so I would like to join. 

 

The games (in alphabetical order):

Axiom Verge (Vita)

Final Fantasy X HD (Vita)

Life is Strange: Before the Storm (PS4)

Lumines Remastered (PS4)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance (PS4)

Muv-Luv (Vita)

Owlboy (PS4)

Rainbow Moon (Vita)

Sundered (PS4)

Ys Origin (PS4)

 

Completion rate: 74.32%

 

The only games I know the gameplay are FF X (played about 5 hours of the PS2-version a few years ago) and Ys Origin (finished the 3 story-playthroughs on Steam back in 2014). Otherwise they are completely new to me. Won't decide on an order but it's likely that I will play Owlboy and Muv-Luv last as the one is a Metroidvania/Action-Adventure without a map (yay...),  and the other one is a story-heavy Visual Novel.

At least this list should give me an incentive to finally start / finish the remaining GoW and PoP-games.

 

Completion rate will be posted Sunday morning as it's likely that it will change a bit.

Swapped the two PS3-games

As much as I'd like to join (joined and played through every KYC except for number four, when I had a breakdown and had to leave the site for a while), I am very much in doubt about whether or not I have enough time to give this event the attention it deserves.

 

It might be better to wait until KYC8 to join again, when work has cooled down a bit.

 

So, hypothetically, IF I would join this round, I'd keep it to just five games like last time, and most of my writing of reviews would be done later in the month, when I've had time to build up a bit of playtime for each game.

 

I guess my list would look something like this:

• XCOM 2 (PS4, PS+ June 2018)
• Valley (PS4)
• SOMA (PS4)
• MagRunner: Dark Pulse (PS3)
• Rayman 3 HD (PS3, PS+ July 2018)

I'd probably put some PSVR in there but I don't know yet if I feel like setting it all up.

 

Mostly, I'd be using the event to finally play two PS4 games that I bought but never played. I 100%ed MagRunner on X360 and rebought it on PS3 mostly to actually have it in case stuff gets pulled for PS3, but I guess playing it for this event might persuade a reader or two to buy it. It's also a good excuse to set up the PS3 again and play on it for the first time in over a year.

777; now I wish 7 games was an option. I've whittled my list in that other event down to just 4 unstarted games, so I'd have to think of a 5th.  I have a few very good candidates, though. 

 

There's Resistance 2, which has an unobtainable Plat with the servers shutdown. GTA V, which seems to take a very long time to Plat (let alone 100%), if I even made it that far. Or Bloodborne, which would be my first ever SoulsBorne game, and I expect to die. A lot. :/ Maybe I'll put it to a vote in a status update..

 

But my full list would look something like this:

2. Fallout Shelter

3. The Talos Principle

4. One Piece: Unlimited World Red

5. Resistance 2

Also, Bloodborne is not as tough as people make it out to be. It's very fair, and not too difficult after passing the first hurdle.

I'd honestly cut Resistance 2 from the choices. It's a good game (if you enjoy FPS), but the most fun was the online with friends (this is coming from someone who fucking hates online modes in general). With that part gone, it'll be a fairly short and potentially less enjoyable experience.

If 7 was an option, I could just throw on all 3. Lol.

Most FPS games are like that for me, though. Usually just play through the campaigns, and then quickly try to get the online over with. With the online gone, I won't even have to worry about that part. I did play the first game, Burning Skies, and the one on the PSP, and liked them well enough. So, I'd like to play through 2 and 3 as well. But it's currently in last in the poll, so it might not matter.

 

Edit: But it got a ton of votes since then, and is now in first.

Bloodborne, every time. Seriously though the game is amazing. I will personally assure you that you will get the plat as long as you don't completely walk away. I've helped 3 or 4 guys finish off the chalice dungeons and probably 30 random guys with individual bosses. I still play the game almost every week for an hour or so just because it's so good.

 Wow. I don't think that any game has kept me coming back that long. Lol. Maybe before the 360/PS3 generation. But after that, I just started buying games faster than I could finish them, and rarely return to any.

Here we go again. Another KYC event and I'm in again.

This time I do 10 games because the time per game for 5 games felt way too long.

 

So here's my list.

All games except for AC: Brotherhood were chosen randomly.

I think this is a good mix of games.

I'll update later with the order I will play they games in.

 

I think I won't get any more trophies so here are my stats before the event.

Games Completed: 90

Unearned Tophies: 2603

Completion %: 59,04%

I only got the one that's on my list, as it was fairly cheap (around 12€ new). Don't really know much about the series, but it looked interesting enough for me to be willing to give it a go. A bit worried that I might be lost in the story, as this one is apparently the sequel.

 

The only game I'm somewhat skeptical about is The Solus Project. Here's to hoping that it ain't a walking sim without content.

The same for me. I got both cheap as well and picked them up because they looked interesting.

I know nothing about the games at all that's why I'm eager to read your opinion on the one you are playing.

That's another game I don't know all too much about. I think I saw it during a recent E3 showcase (maybe a year or two ago), and it looked visually stunning. I tried to avoid checking out actual gameplay as I know that the game is fairly short, so I didn't want my experience to get spoiled.

 

It's kind of neat though, that there may actually be only a single review for each game. Even though it's cool comparing opinions and impressions, more often than not they tend to be similar. Although mine and @Fidel's tend to clash occasionally

It's all good man, pick whichever games you feel like playing .You should definitely join either way though, the more the merrier.
