It's the PSNP Spelling Bee (yes it rhymes)

I will need to look into how to get that debug item thing..

I played both Dark Cloud ages ago (on ps2), so some things that you mentioned sounded familiar, even if I didn't started playing it on PS4 yet.

I think that's my next focus game on ps4 after I'm done with my letters for this event. (I will likely start 3 other games on ps4 soon, but that's just to boost/get online done).

PS: ya, I have most or all ps2 to ps4 JRPGs on my backlog (maybe I'm missing Harvest Moon), and I did play and own most of those on ps2 too.. Still wish we could get more on ps4 :(

I can PM you a link to a video that shows how to do the Broken Dagger glitch on Youtube. The only long grind would be to get a weapon that steals items from enemies because you need to steal an item from an enemy and only two weapons have the ability to do that and they require spawning big chests, but I am going to farm Divine Beast Cave to get the Bandit Slingshot, which means less weapons to sort through. (Don't go for the Bandit Ring, it requires farming chests in the bottom of Shipwreck and you have FOUR types of weapons you have to sort through.) Glad you got inspired to try the game out.

Dark Cloud 2 is a bit more intense because there are many more grind-related trophies but I am going to platinum that game eventually because that was one of my favorite PS2 RPGs. :)

I said no B's!

I am so glad NintendoCapriSun doesn't read this forum, or he'd be spamming his catchphrase all over the place...

"A BEE?!?!?" xD

Well, I've just about got my M game done. It's also on my Halloween list, though, so I can't pop it just yet. I enjoyed Manual Samuel, but it is much more challenging than it appears. The time trials will likely take numerous attempts and practice. There is very little margin for error on almost all of them. Trying to do them fast enough for golds, all the while having to blink and breathe, is some kind of feat. And then there's the co-op trophy...

If you have someone to play with, or maybe pick a better button for controller 2, this might not be so bad. But fuck me, I had to pick :triangle::facepalm: This required holding :l1: and :r1: down on one controller, and trying to push :triangle: on the other with the correct timing during the final boss fight. Multiple times. And then it died, because my old controller is a piece of junk that doesn't want to charge. Playing with the Vita's Remote Play also seemed to be a no go, thanks to :l2: and :r2: being used to walk.

So, there I was, wondering if I'd have to start my co-op playthrough all over and pick another button for player 2, and possibly not even be able to finish doing that. When the controller finally received some energy, and I was able to finish the game. What an ordeal that was..

After reading all that, you probably think I hate the game. Lol. But I really don't. Both normal playthroughs were entertaining, and I loved the humor in it. For the second playthrough, I skipped the cutscenes since I had already seem them, and that gives you new dialogue from the narrator. He is frickin' hilarious.

OK, ya, send me the link. That will help a lot!

I actually liked a lot of Dark Cloud 2 too, but from ps2, my favorite Level-5 game is Rogue Galaxy for sure (it's actually the 1st ps2-to-ps4 game that I bought and the only game I played from those ports). So I know in what I'm getting into, but for a milestone as big as the 200th Plat, a big game as Dark Cloud 2 is the perfect fitting!

I think that some of the RPGs that made a bigger impact in me from ps2 are still not on ps4.. (namely Digital Devil Saga 1/2, Nocturne, Persona 3, Shadow Hearts trilogy and Suikoden 3-5).

But Dark Cloud will have to wait until I get Persona spelled..

Sorry for getting off-topic.

Everyone is now updated again!

Knowing me, I'd probably try to create a second word, and I don't really need that kind of pressure in my life.

It might be kinda cool if, for the people who chose their word in advance, you type out the whole word next to their name and then highlight each letter (or something) as they earn the corresponding platinum. This way, we know what word people are going for.

Based on what I see now, I'm guessing @Dragon-Archon is doing the whole alphabet and @DragonQuest238 is Old McDonald.

That's actually a really good suggestion - I kinda wish I'd tracked that from the start as I ended up needing to go through all 14 pages again >_<

I updated the post for everyone's planned words - if I missed any changes to words, or if you want to change a word in the future, please ping me and let me know! But obviously, anyone's words can be changed as many times as you like, and you don't need to finalise until the event ends :)

Not only that, but you can't create a second word for the event. However, you are free to spell out words with your platinums as much as you like. I actually used this tactic to get some more platinums out of my backlog by spelling out LAND and PAGE. Just go with small words.

My 'T' game was added to my spoiler, but the letter wasn't put next to my lonely U :(

I also got a C, E, and H now:

Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink

Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek

Helldivers

The word I'm going for is Mayus (Yeah, I'm not doing so good at getting the right letters :P)

I also can officially spell 'Cute' now. (Not that it matters, I just like watching my words evolve)

It's official, I really suck at rhythm games.. I though my problem with KH BBS was just because it was hard, but now seeing that I can't do anything on P4DAN on Hard, really shows that it's just me that suck at this..

So far I'm being so overwhelmed by it, that I wasn't able to do any of the 3 specific hard songs required for the 2 bond trophies, hell, I'm struggling to not fail in the first seconds of the songs.. I don't even want to think on how it will be to get 50%+ Perfect on one of them on hard.. And that's mainly what I have left to do (other than the massive grind and King Crazy, but I almost got that on a few songs).

I now have an S. Just A and Y to go. Seasons After Fall started out okay... but went downhill from there. :/ Somewhat tedious puzzles, no in-game map forcing you to rely on some drawings some guy on Steam did, a really dark section where I couldn't see anything and had to fumble around for awhile, and so much backtracking.. Still didn't hate it, but it's far from something I would recommend.

Due to my impending plat 125 milestone I'm going to change my word to PARTS. I have all of the letters for the word already so I should be done. :D

Really wish I could've done MAYUS but I just don't have the time to finish Yakuza 0 before the end of the event and have put myself on a buying freeze in order to clear my backlog a bit so I can't buy any shorter Y games.

Comparing an RPG to a rhythm game is like comparing apples to pineapples. It doesn't work that way. While BBS can be very difficult(especially the secret bosses) on Critical Mode, getting through the stories isn't too hard once you get the abilities from melding commands, and the commands you need(Once More, Second Chance and Leaf Bracer with Curaga) are all pretty easy to get by the second world.

Persona 4 Dancing All Night, however, is a different genre and is solely skill-based. It's a kissing cousin to Parappa the Rapper and the Vocaloid genre so you really need to be on the all with your thumbs to git gud at it on the higher difficulties. After I got burned by Parappa, I am never going to do any rhythm game or minigame ever again, which is why I decided to boycott The LEGO Movie Videogame for PS4.

On topic, I have earned four more trophies for Dark Cloud so I am 51%. All I need to do now is max my gold count, complete the game(which will automatically earn me the trophy for getting my remaining three allies as well as the four trophies for beating the remaining bosses), catch a Baron Garayan(I have enough bait to catch one and can save-scum if I catch something else), and finish the trading quest to get the Sun item which I will attach to something to get the Solar Power trophy. If my luck holds and I get some more nice "funds have increased" glowing rings, I should pop the platinum the instance I beat the final boss. Then it's on to Ni no Kuni II and finishing that. ;)

Ya, as Kent pointed out, I was talking of the Ice Cream minigame in BBS. So I was comparing the same thing.

I didn't do the postgame stuff in BBS but I did the Critical playthrough and it was quite easy from what I remember.. The Ice Cream minigame is just evil.

I managed to get King Crazy done, not really to bad on easy.. And managed to cheese my way through the 3 hard songs required for the Bond trophies.

Now all that's left is the 50%+ Perfect on Hard.. Still, I do feel like I'm not as bad as I was at the start, but I still have a long road to go until I can get that last trophy, since hard mode is overwhelming me (to much stuff to press to quickly and to much stuff in the screen at once..). But I'm no longer feeling as desperate as before, maybe I really can pull this one off!

Edit: I'm an idiot and remove what I just said..

I had tried the songs that needed to be cleared on hard and those were hard, and I tried "Specialist" a few hours ago and was overwhelmed by what was going on, but I just tried "Your Affection" using several items and ignoring the scratch rings and got the trophy on my very first try with 216 perfects, 82 great, 53 good and 20 missed (ya, terrible score ?, but got the trophy!). Now just a long grind for the platinum.

I feel the same way. The game's atmosphere started out great but having to walk across the map multiple times became tedious after a while.

@Kristycism, I won't be able to spell out my planned phrase "MAYUS ATE GLUE" because I don't actually have two U games. When I made that phrase, I didn't recall that Uncanny Valley was platinum-less.
I'll just stick with this for now, but I might think of another fun phrase by the end... I'm low on vowels that aren't A or O without purchasing new games :P
Mary Skelter: Nightmares
Alice: Madness Returns
Yomawari Night Alone
Unholy Heights
Shining Resonance Refrain

I am swapping out the N-title for something a little less time-intensive. Crismon Idol suggested something like this but I decided to just do it this way since I am probably going to be Artifexing it up until #40, which I hope Dark Cloud will be since I am working on it as much as possible. It's not too long of a game with the exploit I learned about. Need to get lucky with blue rings to increase my funds so I can get max gold.

For the record, I still intend to plat both Ni no Kuni games, my OCD won't let them go and I do like Ni no Kuni II even though the DLC is going to suck. xD I just think that I need to make some time for other games and it will help me with my backlog.

Here is the new list, games completed are in blue. If someone could change my list to the following, then I would be grateful.

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart
Eventide: Slavic Fable

Eventide 2: Sorcerer's Mirror

Dark Cloud

Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom

Eventide 3: Legacy of Legends

Finished my L with LEGO Jurassic World for the vita. It was okay, I love Jurassic Park so all the old movie stuff and audio was cool, but this being my second LEGO game, I just don’t think I like them.

status

B

I

O - Old Man’s Journey

L - LEGO Jurassic World

O

G

Y

next stop for me is an I then I wait for September where the other four letters overlap with games I’m playing for the Halloween event.

You'd probably love the PS4 version, the hub worlds are bigger and more interactive. No offense to the Vita but the Vita versions of LEGO games are a bit dumbed down due to their memory capacity.

Mini-Midnight: "Says the person who is probably going to stack the Vita versions of those games for trophy points." :P

Oh shut your mouth, sidekick. ?

EDIT: Since I changed my N to something easy, I will probably complete that game and Dark Cloud by the end of the month so I might expand my word a bit if I feel like I could handle five more letters.
