Popular Post S_y_n_e_IR_g_Y
A few tips that I think may be useful. Of course, there are different ways for each level, but that's how it worked best for me. General: - I guess I don’t have to say that the key to success in Super Meat Boy is patience and that you should do the levels that most difficult for you at first. - Who obtained Golden Boy, so the 100%, is in my opinion also able to get the platinum, it's just a matter of time and patience! - It helped me not only to practice the individual levels which are difficult for me all the Time, but also to play through from 1 to 20 in order to be good in each level - In the end, maybe it's just the same for you as for me, that the trophy comes during a practice run - It helped me to turn off the sound completely, the timing for the rocket launcher etc., I learned at some point - After every No Death Run, I also took a break for a day or so to avoid going completely insane ^^ - I personally think the best way is to get the 100% first, to get to know all levels and characters - The Kid, Ogmo and also Flywrench are a must have - Take your time, that should not be a Speedrun - If I feel like the level is not going well, it's better to just do the Exit to the Map trick and start the level again - For me, the Dpad and sprinting with R1 are the best choices Missile Boy The most difficult levels for me: 8, 17, 19, 20 My planned order: 17-20, 8, 1-7, 9-16 Order in my run: 15-20, 1-14 Tips: Spoiler 1 - Parkour with The Kid, there are not that many special features 2 - the same as in 1 3 - With The Kid you can get on the roof relatively easy to make the way back easier 4 - pretty annoying, I tried to land with The Kid in the small places in front of the conveyor belts and then only doing wall jumps 5 - very easy with The Kid, nothing special 6 – with the little hitboxes from Ogmo, the level was for me one of the easier ones 7 - very simple, Ogmo does not hit the keys when sliding up 8 - for me, only with Meatboy feasible, because of his speed, in the upper part I tried to use every protection and wait for the Rocketlauncher to shoot 9 - Ogmo's small hitboxes will not get him hit by the Salt on the right conveyor belts when he slides up 10 - Back and forth with Meatboy until the ground dissolves, only jump off the wall on the way back when the rocket launcher fires 11 - very easy with Flywrench, on the first wall slide up, because he does not hit the salt and then jump over the saw blades to Girl Boy 12 - slide right up the wall with Flywrench to the salt, then jump over to the key 13 - also feasible with Flywrench, as he does not hit the salt when sliding up 14 - The Kid Parkour, take your time and it's not that hard 15 - very easy with The Kid, Right up the wall to get around it all 16 - If you are very fast with The Kid, the level should not be a problem after a few tries 17 - with Flywrench slide up to the right and jump to the right wall, then jump to the key. Drop down and do the same again to Girl Boy 18 - with The Kid, slide up and down to the key and back on the left wall 19 - Ok with Ogmo, he does not get hit by the small sawblades 20 - I did it with The Kid, in the first section you have to be able to do the timing right, in the last part it helped me to jump to the left side and back again and get the key. On the right side you can hide well in front of the rocket launcher. Demon boyThe most difficult levels for me: 7, 8, 15, 16, 19 My planned order: 7-8, 15-20, 1-6, 9-14 Order in my run: 7-20, 1-6 Tips: Spoiler 1 - The Kid Parkour, nothing special 2 - not too hard with The Kid, because the platform is not really needed with him 3 - Doing well with Meatboy, if you're fast enough, I've always taken the left with the saw blade 4 - with Ogmo quite easy, because you can just slide down in the middle without being hit by the saw blade 5 - can be done with Commander Video, with him you can fly between the saw blades, jump at the first orbs when the first one falls down, at the second orbs jump under the first orb when it is in the highest position 6 - Normal The Kid Parkour 7 – best choice: flywrench, because you can slide up in the middle section 8 - very annoying level, with The Kid or Gish possible, timing is crucial 9 – simple, because you can deal with The Kid much of the level 10 - With The Kid jump to the left, slide the wall to the highest point, then jump over and slide into the portal to avoid getting hit by the saw blade, after that normal parkour 11 – simple, because you can handle the level with The Kid 12 - annoying, with The Kid always slide high enough to dodge the laser and slide over the edge in the middle so you don’t get hit by the laser 13 – easy, because you can jump up and down behind the laser with the Kid 14 - with Meatboy you can get through with small jumps quickly and ignore the lasers almost, otherwise take your time and go the normal way 15 - annoying, with The Kid running to the right, then to the key, then to the left and the same, so that the Hellmaws always land on the other side 16 - annoying, jump with The Kid from the left wall to the middle and tap to the left just for a moment, so that the Hellmaw lands in the hole 17 - with The Kid well done, follow the first Orb directly through the portal 18 - doable with The Kid by jumping up without the platform after avoiding the first Hellmaw and hiding in the top left until the platform comes to you 19 - dissolve the floor above the elevator and then immediately jump with Gish to the right wall and then to the ceiling, slowly slide to the left and trigger the Hellmaw, then drop to the bottom 20 - with Ogmo very well feasible, at laser part slide up to the top, in the last section shortly run to the right to trigger the Hellmaw and then run to the far right and jump over it Zombie boyThe most difficult levels for me: 3,5,8,9,15,19-20 My planned order: 15-20, 3-14, 1-2 Order in my run: 3-20, 1-2 Tips: Spoiler 1 - through the Triple Jump with The Kid very easy, just slip up the corner 2 - normal The Kid Parkour, in the second section with The Kid jump between the saw blades and ignore the gravityball 3 - Jump with Spelunky immediately on the left gravityball and fly through, on the way back always make small jumps when the gravityball is up; on the right side just fly through with small jumps 4 - with the kid jump under the gravity through to the Key and then do a normal double jump parkour; in the last section with the gravityball, jump up and press right when you get close to the Gravity 5 - Here I preferred The Kid to make the last part easier, to activate the second switch, it may help to tap right for a short Frame 6 - best choice here is Ogmo because of its size and to bypass the salt 7 - Land with a double jump on the second platform and run down to get the falling key 8 - Annoying level, which killed me twice before the Zombie Boy Trophy .. Best choice here is Ogmo because of his size, make small jumps, in the last part stay left on the elevator 9 - also an annoying level, very luck dependent, I always jumped from left to right with The Kid, and at the end in the starting area very high to attract the upper orbs 10 - Just jump up with The Kid right at the beginning to get the keys and stay safe 11 - just slide with the kid over the top, but be careful, after that just do a double jump through the sawblades 12 - Normal The Kid Parkour, not very special, except that you can handle a few things easier with The Kid 13 – just use the trick with the Pink Knight, hold R1 and press X, then press Start, then release X and press Start again; now only hit blocks and fly up to the top, as a precaution be ready to press start that you don’t die 14 - simple, with The Kid jump at first to the middle and then back to lure the orb away, then up the left wall and dodge the last orb 15 - annoying, with the kid, right timed jumps will make it, unfortunately difficult to explain without video 16 - In the middle part with Ogmo make double jumps and slide up, because of its size because of his size, he will be not hit so fast by the saw blades, then jump up on the wall and jump up again in front of the saw blades to lure the orb away 17 - very annoying level, for me only possible with Meat Boy, without video unfortunately difficult to explain, you always have to react immediately 18 - for me it was easiest to get the key first with Meatboy and then jump to the lower left corner to hide there and then go through to the right; then slide up when the horizontal rocket hits the right wall 19 - annoying Meatboy Parkour, uses the glitch to get up in the last part 20 - also an annoying Meatboy Parkour, also uses the glitch in the last part Girl BoyThe most difficult levels for me: 7,10,11,13,15,19,20 My planned order: 19-20, 7, 10-18, 1-6 Order in my run: 1-20 ^^ Tips: Spoiler 1 - just release run on the first lower saw blades 2 - wait for the 10th, glitched sawblade then run and stay in the middle 3 - wait until second 1.4 then make a long jump over the first saw blades and through the second, wait below the third a moment and then jump through to the end 4 - release run for the lower part, always land on the left side and jump once; for the upper part just watchout for the incoming sawblade and run through 5 - not so hard if you're fast enough and use the open spaces, slide up at the start and jump over then jump through the orbs 6 - completely stop before the last saw blade and make a high jump 7 - very annoying level, just walk down to hit the right part of the fan, press briefly left for one frame and then when you hit the lowest Part hold R1 and fly over to the right side, do the same on your way back 8 - just jump down from one pillar to the other and go around like that 9 - easy parkour, just take your time 10 - very annoying level, without video unfortunately difficult to explain; for the first 2 Keys: slide up until both Rockets hit the wall then get the key, for the middle Keys: jump to the middle Wall and slide down a moment so the middle rocket launcher hits the wall and you can get the key and jump down, now to get the top par:, do a quick jump to the lower wall, and then double jump on the middle wall and to the top part, You have to be extremely fast here11 - dodge the Rockets four times with small forward steps and then when the rocket launcher fires the fifth time, dodge with a long jump and then always run to the left and right 12 - just dodge within the gaps 13 - for me, the first and last shortcuts were very important, otherwise always make short to medium jumps 14 – take your time and try to get 2 keys with one jump 15 - in the first part, slide up the right Wall, then do a wall jump change to the left side to collect the Key, then do 2 wall jumps on the left Side and jump to the right so the Hellmaw will hit the wall above him and you can get key, then once to the left and to the middle; in the second part always drop on the Side of the key and run to the other side and fall down 16 - make one wall jump on the lower part and then jump to the Gravityball, as a precaution, press Start if you are close to die 17 - i have no idea how i could explain this without a video ^^ but it is not that difficult when you know the right tactic 18 - on the way to the key just use the big 4-block platform, on the way back use the 3-block ones 19 - nothing special, you just have to be very fast and the small saw blades are of course annoying 20 - annoying but feasible if you have survived the small saw blades, only jumps at the last moment and then take your time after that with the Rest from the Level Impossible boyThe most difficult levels for me: 1,9,14,15,19,20 My planned order: 19-20, 7-18, 1-6 My order in my run: 1-20 ^^ Tips: Spoiler 1 - annoying level, use Run just for the middle part 2 - just take your time and don’t use the run button, just press the right dpad and X at the same time 3 - slide up the right wall, wait a small second, then do 3 middle wall jumps wait again, do 3 middle wall jumps wait again and after that go to the top 4 - slide up the left wall do 1 wall jump, then jump over the sawblade and to the right site, let the middle blade pass and jump back to the left side, jump further over two saw blades, let the middle blade pass again and jump to the right and to girl boy 5 - be quick and you should have no problem jumping through open spaces 6 - slide up the wall to the highest point and do one wall jump that you are just under the sawblade, after that follow the normal path, nothing to special just be careful and quick 7 - the Magic Pixel.. line up Girl with the Block and hope for the best and then press X, this level kills my runs to often so I would prefer this early in the Run 8 - immediately long jump to the pillar and fall between the orbs, do a quick jump to the key, for the return wait until one of the orbs meets the black pole with his face then jump and jumps once again between the orbs and then to Meatboy 9 – one of the worst Levels, hold R1 and press left on the Dpad when you hit around 75% of the conveyor belt, pass the sawblades and jump over the Salt and do it again ( with 75% I mean, around where the grey part behind the salt begins)10 - again hard to explain without a video, best way is to fall down in the beginning and be quick, for the last two rocket launchers, run at first to the blocks, so that the lowest dissolves, slide up to pass the right rocket and that all blocks dissolves, now jump over the left rocket to reach meatboy 11 - not so hard, once you've made it, for the part with the 3 saw blades, do a wall jump to dodge the third saw blade 12 - not special, easier than the variant from World 3 13 - The short cut to the beginning and at the end were again very important to me, making small an middle jumps was the Key here for me 14 - run to the right wall and slide up to the top, do a wall jump and jump again to slip on the block do not jump otherwise, the laser hits you, then just jump on the right block; now release the run button and jump to the key, at the end of the platform with the key, press R1 again jump the platform on the left 15 - again difficult to explain without video, immediately run 2 Blocks to the left and jump to the wall then do a wall jump and to the key, now drop to the right and immediately again do two wall jumps to get behind the block, now just jump in correct timing, in the End run down to Girl Boy, don’t jump 16 - as well as the Light World variant 17 - barely explainable without video, but if you've done it once or twice, it should not be a problem 18 - it's best to always slide up the wall and jump in circles, attracting the other orbs, then lure them up and get the key 19 - press X for the upper part without running and with middle speed 20 - the same as in the Light World just turned around, if the saw blades annoy you can stand in between them Here is my Impossible Boy Run: Spoiler It's best to be guided by YouTube Tutorials than by my tips, because in a video you can explain everything better than in a text guide, but if my tips just help one person I am satisfied. The Tutorials for Missile, Demon and Zombie Boy, from Sir Knight Surefire Tactics are very well explained: Spoiler The complete Playlist from @Beatminaz helped me also: Spoiler Also this Tutorial for Impossible Boy, from @Ultima456 was really helpful: Spoiler The Youtuber "Ahniboy" did also a good Job with his Guides for Girl and Impossible Boy Spoiler And then there is also the Youtuber "Missing Collectible", who did an extra Run for Missile Boy, just for me. Spoiler Unfortunately the Site from @greenzsaber (www.fatprinny.com) is offline at the Moment, but his SMB Text guide was also very good and helpful. ZachSmoke
Thanks a lot for this. The more tips out there the better. I also found sir knights videos very helpful for missile boy. Good idea compiling all these video into one place really helps out.
DJY8898
Quite detailed. I got 13/20 on Zombie Boy, but that was mostly luck based. I need to keep practicing. Thankfully greenzsaber's website is online again. Sir Knight Surefire Tactics' guide on Zombie Boy was very well explained except for the last two levels. But that's not his fault for the technical issues. EDIT: Zombie Boy is mine after 7 days of intensity. Impossible Boy is all that's left. DJY8898
With Zombie Boy unlocked, I somehow managed to beat all levels in the Cotton Alley Dark World in one sitting. Though I died a thousand times, I now know that I can obtain Impossible Boy through practice. A lot of practice. dragon11gggg
You could try learning the levels in small bursts like I did. What I mean by that is picking 3 levels at a time and only playing those levels over and over again until you feel like you have mastered them and can get through them without dying 90+% of the time. Than you would pick another 3 or 4 levels and only practice those ones and so on. After you have that done with the harder levels in the world you could try grouping the different sets together and maybe that could led to getting a run/attempt at the trophy and maybe even unlocking it. Hope it helps and good luck.
Blazhead
Hey thanks for that, i have trouble with the level 3, 18 and 20 of the 3 Dark, for 20th level is the first missile
AJ_Radio
I'm going to have to dedicate fucking 10 - 15 hours straight if I'm going to get this Girl Boy trophy. Don't even get me started on Dark Cotton Alley.
ZachSmoke
Finally got Demon Boy. It took me a lot longer than I would of liked but those damn hell maws enemy are the worst for me. The Gish strats for 4-8x and 4-19x that are in SirKnights videos are not worth doing to much effort. It was easy for me to use kid or meat boy. Zombie Boy and Girl Boy are much harder than Demon Boy but I'm sure you can get them with dedication and practice. Impossible Boy is kicking my ass but I managed to beat all 20 levels twice despite dying a thousand times. 7-2X, 7-14X, 7-15X and 7-19X are the worst. Trust me. Using Flywrench made the level easier if you know how to use him. 3-20X - Try not to jump immediately when the missile fires. Time your jumps.

Ughhhhh Trials Fusion. That game kicked my ass hard. Its much worse. I only get shit done though dedicated practice though. I played for a little each day when doing SMB. I found if I sat for more than an hour with it, I would end up getting pissed off and got worse.

OJ9999vr
Very useful guide there, i've tried picking up small tips and tricks here and there. I'm going straight for the Impossible boy trophy, why? Because you can change characters on the other levels, so why not use the character you've used mostly through the game when you still are very used to the controls. Also because you'll be done with the hardest part, so only easier levels from there. That being said, i'm on my 4th or 5th day of going for this no death run, unfortunately there's about 8 hard levels for me (7-1x, 7-2x, 7-8x, 7-9x, 7-13x, 7-14x 7-19x and 7-20x) 7-1x is hard because of the bottom part. The transition between the top and bottom is easy, because you can run at full speed, hit the wall and quickly turn the other way. This only failed once, because i was barely too fast. Spoiler 7-2x Only hard part is the transition between bottom and top, best way i've found to do this is to make sure you hit the last part of the "roof" when the saw hits the wall. Then jump away from the wall while holding the direction against it. I might also jump a bit different from everyone else, I hold run all the time, then when the saws comes i press the direction against it and jump at the same time and i release them around the same time also. Spoiler 7-8x I do the same as almost all guides. I quickly jump at the start, quickly jump over, then i wait for one of the blobs to hit the left black line, i jump to the middle and does 3 jumps between them before i go all the way. Spoiler 7-9x One of the most difficult ones, because the timing is so hard to get down and if not i quickly hit the saws or the salt by accident. At times it worked to go away from the wall, when you hit the top of the background buildings. Spoiler 7-13x I've started to get used to this, I only do the left skip at the very top the rest i do by sliding up the walls and not doing any double jumps on them until the end. Spoiler 7-14x Feels very random, but i think i've started to get used to this also. Due to the layout going right or left doesn't matter, best to go by preference, i go right at this. Before today i stopped running for the rest of the level once i hit the highest block, this resulted in hitting the blocks above me too early most of the time or i ran of the edge. But now i hit the run button once i hit the middle platform, then i jump at the edge, quickly turns around and i stop moving, i've had much success with this lately. Spoiler 7-19x Overall not very hard, it's just easy to mess up at the very end. For the start i don't rush, i only go when i can go at full speed and jump on every other platform without crashing into a wall. The end should be easy once you get the right rhythm, i also tend to slow down a bit on my rhythm on the 2 last jumps (the very last doesn't have a gap above). Spoiler 7-20x Probably my worst level, even though i let the saws pass me, by squeezing between them. My most successful way is standing between the furthest right saws and letting the right side of bandage girl stay parallel to the thin grey line on the blocks where the saw gap are. Otherwise the section with the small saws get me most of the time. Just watch out for a 2nd set of saws if you take too long. Spoiler The next set of medium difficulty levels (7-3x, 7-10x, 7-11x, 7-12x, 7-15x, 7-16x, 7-17x, 7-18x), none of them are very difficult but can quickly mess you up. 7-3x I do the only right wall strategy, i jump and slide on the wall once the left saw is on it's top point, once it passes me i jump upwards, not really stopping until one of the saws are about to hit me and i need to wait for it to pass, after this i quickly jump the rest bit without stopping. Spoiler 7-10x Not really hard, but one false move can ruin everything. At the start i run into the wall, the quickly i change direction once hitting it, the i run into the breakable wall and jump over the missile behind me. When hitting the next wall, i slide up it, waiting for it to fire, then i do 3 jumps back and forth the last of them i wait for it to fire, then i quickly change side and jump up. I run into the breakable wall and jumps over the missile behind me, then i run for the edge and quickly turns once i hit the wall. Again i run into the breakable wall and jumps over the missile behind me and also the one in front once it fires, then i jump and barely slide on the wall in front of me until the missile above fires, the i jump quickly back and forth. From now on i don't jump at all, i only run towards the breakable walls until they disappear. Spoiler 7-11x Easy level if you skip the saws, but i've messed up once or twice on a 11/20 run because of it. I'll not guarantee it'll work, but it seems to me, if you jump over the first wall and slide up the 2nd at least so the splatter reaches the same height as the floor behind it and you jump as far as you can at about 3,2x-3,4x, then you should be able to get behind it. The rest should be easy from here on out, but a 2nd set will spawn if you take too long. Spoiler 7-12x Nothing too hard, except the small gaps. (messed up a 11/20 run because of them). The part until the key should be easy. Once you get it, the easiest way i've found is to jump away with the run button and hit the side of the wall below you. the rest is all about timing. Spoiler 7-15x Easy if you get the right pattern, this level is also symmetric so it doesn't matter which side you go on. I start by doing a long jump right, the a small wall jump so i hit the lower part of the wall above, right before hitting the key i release the run button for about 0,5 sec and hit it again. Then i quickly jump up the opposite wall, if done right the "maw" will hit the small block above you. Then it's all about having the right timing, to make them hit the same block until the cages are unlocked, once they are run towards the middle without jumping and it should send you right in. Spoiler 7-16x Probably the level i've trained the least. Not to bad if you exit the level before falling or hitting the saws. but still there's the chance of suddenly messing up. Spoiler 7-17x Generally a easy level if you know the pattern, but still with the timing a little off you'll quickly mess up. At the start i do a medium jump to another one, i jump one the right wall and quickly to the left above, waiting for the diagonal missile above to pass. Then there's a little safe zone, i wait for the ground missile (left to right) then i jump over it and once the diagonal missile next to me has hit the ground i run until the ground missile nearly hits me then i jump over it, move to the next safe zone once it's safe and once all missiles has past i go for the finish (hardest part, if not done quick enough you'll get hit) Spoiler 7-18x At some point this was very hard, now i've got an almost guaranteed easy strategy. At the beginning jump between the monsters, jump on the wall and over them, back to the middle same on the other side, through them, then over and between the middle of all of them. Now collect them all in the same place by using the wall to circle around them, and just the ground when they're low enough. Now go for the key, once getting it collect them all if the start to separate. After this make them follow you to a wall, then do wall jump until you reach the top, then bail. If done right they won't bother you for the rest of the level. Spoiler Last but not least the rest (7-4x, 7-5x, 7-6x, 7-7x) 7-4x Go right, do 2 wall jumps and then make sure you get past the saw, then jump top the top edge of that wall. Once there change walls, and jump right back, do one jump and dodge a saw, another quick jump and dodge another. Jump on top of the wall you're on and wait until either the middle saw has gone up and back down or the 2 below you to nearly reach you, then go for it. Spoiler 7-5x I found this to be the easiest if you do it quickly, at the start do some quick long jumps over the enemies. Once at the next room jump to the middle platform (only time you'll need to use it) then between the enemies and you'll land below the furthest right. If done right you can now do long jumps over or between all the remaining enemies. (the finish time should be around 21-23 sec this way) Spoiler 7-6x Go left doing full button press jumps, then switch sides once your between the 2 saws, jump over the one above (you might not want to to a full button press on this one, depends on the landing) now go right-left-right, a little less then a full press on some, you don't want to hit the middle saw above you. Jump up on the side you're on to the shrinking walls, and do a full press to reach the other side, then go back and forth until you reach the top. Spoiler 7-7x Easiest level, but also so easy to mess up. In the background from where you start there's a line between 2 blocks to your right, make sure you stand with the right side of the body is not touching the white area of the block while the dark is completely gone (has to be pixel perfect). If done right you'll go right to the top, if not you die in the saw or you won't gain any height on the 2nd fan. Spoiler Didn't intend to do this, but seems like i wrote myself a little guide for these levels. Day 2-3 best 6/20 Day 3-4 best 8/20 Day 4-5 best 11/20 Hopefully it'll be done soon. Sadly, your chances of getting it are much higher than mine. I'm on Day 7 and the furthest I've gone without dying is 2/20. I'm just too clumsy. On the other hand, levels such as 7-10X, 7-15X, 7-18X and 7-19X are becoming less of a threat. Edited August 21, 2018 by DJY8898
