Need help with my profile

I'm not very used to this site if this is the place to ask help. I want to set my profile picture but I really don't know how. It has to be 0.05 mb and I want to use the picture that I'm using as a background right now, but how do get it to be 0.05 mb?

Crop it down in paint and make sure to save it as a Jpeg. 

 

Actually, it's still too large. Your best bet is honestly to google for a smaller image because anything else you to it is going to make it fuzzy.

Darn, Kittet beat me to it as I was trying out Paint, but yeah, that. You can go to "Properties" and downscale the image resolution.

What are the minimum dimensions to get at least 0,05 mb? Like all of yours profile pictures

It is not just the dimensions but the quality too. And the number of colors. You could use a lower resolution or quality for JPEG that's usually the best way to reduce the file size. If it just then person in the your background image then you have to select it with a rectangular selection tool and crop it, meaning to cut it out. This way you reduce the file size by huge bit. Then you save the image as a JPEG and use a lower quality. Usually any imaging app shows you the amount of the new file size before you save it. So you can get the best dimensions. But you can also fit the image later when you import it to your profile.
