Those things are a complete waste of time and can kill your console so avoid them like the plague. The best way to keep your console cool is to position it somewhere it will be well ventilated on all sides but especially where the vents are.

I remember posting something similar and almost everyone said a cooling stand is rubbish. It just blows dirt into your console. You can keep it cool by not having it in pigeon hole style tv stand (instead an open one with tiers or an open surface so the vents and surrounding area is free to ventilate), and if it's on the floor using a hard surface instead of a carpet. Also vertical position covers up one of the vents, so flat would probably be better unless space is an issue.

Your better off spending the cash on a controller charging pod or something.  Reviews for cooling fans in general, be it the usb fabs or the stand ones are generally poor as well.
