Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night delayed to 2019, Vita version canned

Because it takes a lot of time and money to make something and it's not like somebody clicks a button that says 'Create Vita version' and it's finished.

If the game's already going to be late or the production is in trouble, cutting features that aren't worth the investment is the right call.

I know, that's exactly means development for Vita hasn't been started. Why then bother to promise this thing at first place, they could make game and if asked create a port later.

Pretty sure they had the best intentions when they started development in 2015. That was before we knew what Nintendo NX was going to be and Vita was maybe more viable for indiegames. Making a Vita version now would be a waste of resources when they could invest that time and money into a Switch port.

thinking this will now flop and have a bad release. classic castlevania metroidvania is good but so many indie titles pop out that genre now that nothing is unique about Bloodstained.

Except that Bloodstained will use that classic style and mechanics of a castlevania without needing to mix things up or add in twists to the formula in order to justify it's assistance.

Good luck with the prediction tho. One day you should graduate up to predicting the lottery numbers or making a killing at a casino.

lol was that supposed to be a diss? ? pathetic.

regardless it's a game I do intend to buy. I still think it wont sell well though. due to delays and potentially next gen being promoted late 2020. if anything the game should drop to a $30-$40 range. not the shit $65 they're asking in Canada. no indie game is worth more than $30. regardless how it looks.

The first Bloodstained game was excellent and deserves to be in the discussion for game of the year. I would certainly say it's top 10. Therefore I dont think there is any risk of ROTN being anything less then a good game. Will it be better then COTM? Maybe not and that is an interesting plausibility in and of itself, but I don't think there is any risk of it being bad.

It wasn't a diss. I truly hope your predictions skills will be profitable for you.

Next gen consoles being talked about in 2019 will harm sales of this specific game? Sure.

Also good luck with that line in the sand about no indie game being worth $30. Such insanity will go over well here but doesn't make much sense.

I do win lots of $ on sports bets and at casinos. so.

name an indie game worth its price....

dead cells? 20. not anything more.

issac? boring

salt and sanctuary was 14.

so again, they are less than 30. and not all were enjoyable for me. S&S was kind of.

but you get my point.

I'll just go with the two that you bought. Divinity OS2 and Fire Pro. Neither of which had any sales around the time of your first trophies.

Divinity launched at $60 USD and Fire Pro had a $50 and $90 package. Whatever those numbers translate into CAD they are certainly past your arbitrary quality mark of $30.

Divinity my friend bought and played thinking I would enjoy it. I didnt. Fire Pro I bought to support NJPW and I so enjoy it. so okay 1 game. fair enough.

The new art style looks much better than it used to. I love the fact that they addressed the criticism it got directly. It has been a long time since the Kickstarter ended, but I'm sure the wait will have been worth it. I look forward to getting my physical copy. :)

Put in an overexcited, hurried preorder after reading the news today. I didn’t before because I wanted to wait for this: a definite release date. After all the mouth-watering bits and pieces that we’ve seen about the game to this day, I’m looking forward to getting to play it so very soon ♪ This is awesometastic.

But to be absolutely honest... I’m afraid that depending on how the plot plays out and events revolving around the main characters resolve, I’ll tear up. It’s going to happen, I just know it. I’m a sucker for tragedy. So here’s to a wait filled with excitement and looooots :;(∩´﹏`∩);: apprehension.
