Do you buy new, used, or rent games?

I will rent if I'm not sure about a game but mainly pre owned for older games. I will buy new if I'm convinced I will like it enough but for older games I research before I make a purchase.

Use to do a combination of all 3. Now and for the last couple of yrs, I buy my games new, so I can support the developers and have the game added in my collection, where I own it forever. Sure that samething can be done with pre-owned games, however, you don't support the devs when you buy PO games, so yeah.

 

The only time where I might make an exception to buy pre-owned games is when a buy 2 get 1 free deal pops up, but that's it. Well... there is also the rare (since I rarely & barely sell/trade in my games) times where I would do so to buy a game I used to previously own, and for games that can only be purchased used, as they aren't available new anymore.

If it doesn't, used if I can find one with no scratches/smudges and a nice case... otherwise new.

 

I haven't rented a game in probably a decade.

Always new, almost always on release and preferably a physical copy. Me and the mrs only buy used games if we know its a game that is hard to come by. And I dont think that you've ever been able to rent ps3/360 games in Denmark, at least not to my knowledge

I always buy new games. The smell of factory when I open for the first time quite satisfying.I only buy used one or digital one if there is no way I can get it near my place.

Mostly buy them new, or if I'm in a trophy hunting mood I buy them used and my game shop gives you 2 weeks to play it and you can return them for a full refund. I don't rent them because they are ridiculous prices something like $20 a night.

I never ever rent; If I want to try out a game, I'll buy it cheap and try it on my other account. And if I don't like it, I simply return it. The only games I buy new are the ones I pre-order. Never digital. Unless, it's an exclusive digital game, I don't see why I should fill up my PS3's data with 20 or less games. And plus, physical games look good on the shelf.

Mostly I buy my games new and physically because I like my games to be in perfect condition.

Only buy pre-owned or digital if there's a really good sale or that's the only way to get the game.

I buy physical copies used unless it's a game I really want right away though I usually download games for my Vita which has recently become my primary console.

If It's from a franchise I love, I buy them new. Since renting games isn't a thing where I live, it doesn't really fall under consideration.

I almost exclusively buy new. I've bought some hard to find games used. I once paid for one month of a rental service to plat a lot of shitty games. I pretty much ran out of games to rent from them, and some few months later they had to close down due to financial reasons, not surprised by the lack of selection IMO. I'm serious when I say that I had many times the amount of PS3 games they had.

For some reason I don't like buying used games. Also, I prefer to buy digital ones, so I don't have to change discs each time I want to change games... maybe I'm too lazy...

Always bought used games.
Theres a bunch of people(21k++) in a group in facebook for our country and we have been selling and trading used games for a long time.

Prices of new games are kinda expensive here...

I normally buy used for Nintendo games since they ALWAYS go up in price. Other than that I normally buy new unless I can get a huge deal.

I'd say it all depends on the game for me. Most games I'll buy used, unless it's something that I've been anticipating since hearing about it a year prior (Modern Warfare 3, Mass Effect 3, GOW: Ascension, Destiny, SW: Battlefront, etc), then I'll pre-order it. 

 

As for renting a game, that's usually if I come across a game that I've already beaten and don't really want to buy it, but I have a strong urge to at least play it just one more time, for old time's sake (You've had moments like that, don't lie).

I used to buy used but now I buy new because it feels better to have a collection that I've bought all brand new so I can look after them and know that they're in the right condition.

I prefer to buy new whenever possible, but I don't mind buying used when it's significantly cheaper, or I simply can't find the game in new, unsealed condition. I've had a couple of bad experiences with used discs, which just prompts me to buy new copies all the more.

I don't really rent games any more as I find I never have the time to finish them within the period given to me.

Mostly buy them . I bought once used dark souls copy on ps3 and it was scratched as hell. I still can't play it without freezing like every few minutes .
