My guess is that co-op uses P2P and only needs PSN servers to take care of the invites. It would be weird to only shut down only a part of the servers instead of everything. At the same time: Game companies can be weird so unless there ever comes a shutdown or someone dives into network traffic, we'll never know for sure how it works. Unless you're talking about a Cyberpunk 2077 style trainwreck or Activision/Blizzard sized sexual harassment scandal, you'll never convince any modern mainstream gaming journalist to give 2 shits about the unannounced server closure for a game like Agents of Mayhem, that sold poorly and got meh reviews across the board. Modern journalists are only interested in massive scandals and stories they can milk for months on end to increase their ad revenue and site traffic - which is something this minor and in their eyes non-event won't do for them so won't even bat an eyelid when told about it. Makes you wonder why even have that particular trophy being online when they could just make the quest change randomly every X amount of time. It's like with Mad Max online challenge where you need to earn a certain amount of scrap over the day while offline...why not just have the scrap already? Why is the online even required? Sure you might be able to exploit it while doing it offline but it's not like you can unlock everything right off the bat! Urgh! On top of that, Monolith then issued a patch (so they probably had to wait for Sony to certificate it and also spend some extra cash to be issued, I don't remember if they dropped the thing to charge for consecutive patches) to change the trophy requirement so it could be done offline. Agents of Mayhem sure isn't new and fresh, being released in 2017, but it's Volition's last game and they could keep it online until the release of the next Saints Row, right? Why not going the Monolith way and patch the trophy so it could be any 15 offline contracts? Yes, the game failed pretty hard, but simply ignoring the matter show how they don't care at all, and oh boy those false statements too! Not gonna lie, I saw how the new Saints Row reboot will be like and I'm quite baffled! This is not the Volition I (we) used to know! I just hope they smart up and do something! And... didn't they announce SR3 and SR4 gallery shutdown back then and gave us time? So what happened now? Furthermore the servers on pc went down at beginning of October and someone got an answer that they aware of the problems and it will take a while to fix the issue. Nevertheless a notification were nice so that all players who want to get platinum or 100% dependent on the system should have enough time to get it done. I have written a mail to the support, but got never an answer. I don't know what happened there. At least a small answer were appreciated. You do realize that Volition & Deep Silver are 2 different companies? Volition is the developer & Deep Silver is the publisher. & calling Volition a "bad developer" really is nonsense. Sure they did made same bad games, but they also made same of the best games ever: Descent series, Summoner II, Red Faction 1, 2 & Guerrilla, Saints Row 1, 2 & 3 & of course the Punisher. Bump that. They can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time and get a patch out for Agents of Mayhem while finishing/in crunch on Saints Row. Judging by their response (or lack thereof) on Twitter, the people at their offices directing people to their technical support and support not even updating tickets opened about this, they don't seem capable of either. I'm at a point where I'm ready to hop on Delta, fly to their offices, and stand outside them with a bullhorn and picketing signs.
