While I never liked the Intimacy Mode since I found it cringy and boring at the same time. I am still against the removal of the feature since I am against Censorship overall. I have always been against Censorship even when the Censored Product looks better than the Original Product (search Azur Lane Prinz Eugen Swimsuit).

I don't know why I am so stubborn against Censorship of any type. Probably because I find it very insulting that someone else is making a decision for me without my input. If I don't like a feature then I just won't use it like I did with Senran Kagura Intimacy Mode (except when required for trophies) and the Diorama feature.

Either way, I am not buying this.

Are there versions with English Text like a Hong Kong version?

While there is an asian version, it only has chinese subtitles

It's really the first time I'm considering buying a Switch. Not for that reason alone, but this is part of it.

Last weekend I played through the whole night with a friend which didn't happen for a long time on Playstation. There are more and more japanese games I want to play on the Switch which don't come out on Playstation or only censored.

And the problem with censoring for me is just that. I don't care about what they are censoring (naked ladies or blood or whatever) but only the fact that they are censoring.

I won't stop playing on Playstation, that will never happen, but I will make more time playing on Switch (as soon as I buy one) which will leave me with less time for PS games.

All I can say, is fuck you Sony and I'm getting a Switch if this bullshit carries on ?. I've messaged Marvelous to see if the EU version will also be butchered but if it is, then I'm cancelling my pre-order and buying the Asian version instead. Also, Marvelous and XSEED are on thin ice with me if this BS pandering carries on and will be boycotting their Western releases if things don't change.

How easy is the Asian version to play if you don't know the language?

XSeed isn't pandering to Sony, they literally have to do it if they want to release the game at all and considering there's already been a significant amount of resources put into localization, it'd be a fool's errand to want to make a stand. They did what they could, which was make it known on social media that this decision wasn't up to them and entirely on Sony's end. If you want to buy the game and have the PC to run it, buy the Steam version, which is uncensored, and that way XSEED still gets support. As for Sony, post on their social media and e-mail them, nothing changes if you don't speak up.

I have a lack of confidence in society as a whole too. It's a fucking shitshow, someone censoring some animated youngish looking females in a game should be a very low priority on anyones list.

This is a major issue about someone else deciding for you what YOU can see and what you can't. I hate that. We don't know what this policy say about other stuff like gore and violence. I would be alarmed if I were you.

Someone deciding underage looking females arent appropiate to be looking at. I'm fine with that, 1000% absolutely perfectly fine with that. The only time censorship gets bought up is these Japanese games with 'mature' content, never gets bought up with gore or violence unless you live in Australia or some other country that cant handle an 18 age rating.

The point being is that censorship is a slippery slope and as the snowball rolls downhill it gets larger and larger. What might be insignificant now can become a larger issue later which is why it's best to kill it now before that can happen. Not to mention that this censorship is largely born out of ignorance of the consumer base and what they will and won't find offensive.

There's been censorship for these games for years and it hasn't gotten worse. Stop tryna make drama out of nothing ..

Censorship has been around since the NES, and it has mostly stayed the same since then

Standards have been relaxed far more than they were since the NES days. Not to mention Sony released three of the games untouched and with nary a peep so you can't just turn around after that and say this is wrong. This policy is new and it was born to appease a base that's only a fraction of their sales, if that or born out of some foolish desire to look socially conscious.

didn't some new just become the head of playstation US?

i want to add, that i have never heard of a SONY, XBOX or NINTENDO telling a company to remove something even if it passed a rating board check.

this is not a good sign of things to come

Actually even that happened before in the past with Sega when they used to allow explicit porn games and then halfway through the Saturns lifespan decided it was no longer okay and banned them

Kinda saw Sony's point with Omega Labyrinth, but this seems a bit unnecessary. Like everyone's said, everyone knows what they are getting with these games, and this - relatively speaking - is pretty tame stuff. TBH, I think it's more because these are niche titles - there are more messed up things like gore and actual full on nudity even in Sony's first party titles, this just seems gratuitous on their part.

Absolutely ridiculous on Sony's part. We're all humans, we can decide on our own in regards to what we want to play and what we don't want to play, what we want to see and what we don't want to see. Sony needs to get out of this mindset and just let things be.

I'm a huge fan of the SK series (look at my trophy cabinet if you must). While I didn't really do much in Intimacy Mode, it's ridiculous that it was a-okay in the past games, yet now it's not. Sony of NA should take note from Sony of JP.

Nothing to do with the adult themes and more to do with the recent "misogyny and female exploitation" culture we have going on right now. Sony's western division is headed by notoriously liberal execs, more interested in trying to look "socially conscious" than pleasing the consumer base. They singlehandedly nearly ruined the movie division and the Japanese main office has seriously considered shutting the entire branch down.

No they haven't. Venom just made $80 million in North America alone in one weekend, with a sequel being greenlit almost instantly. Then there's the Miles Morales movie coming out soon, which is animated so it's guaranteed to make them nearly 100x times the movie's budget (animated films cost barely anything to make and can't fail). To top it all off, they have Marvel making them Spider-Man movies, so they get to share the profits from any Marvel film with Spider-Man in it. That means Sony pays nothing, yet gets money. There's obviously some kind of video game deal in there as well, which is why the Spider-Man game is exclusive when Sony doesn't own the game rights.

As for this topic, don't worry, Sony is censoring violence as well. With the Venom sequel greenlit and featuring Carnage, you'd expect it to get an R rating. Nope, PG13. They'll be toning down one of the most violent comic characters in existence so children can watch it.
