Let's Play Warriors

Banner and trophies by the amazing @Masamune

General Information

Seeing as Warriors Orochi 4 is coming(It's out now) I wanted to do Let's play on all Koei's Warriors games ever made and that means The Nintendo ones too! Most of you know the Series as Dynasty Warriors while some like me know it as just Warriors and also know that almost all the games on PS at least are grindy as heck. For this event it's perfectly fine to just plat one of the sub-series(Yes, Dynasty Warriors is now a Sub-Series) like Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Anime Warriors(As in games based on a Anime/Manga) or Nintendo Warriors.

Dynasty Warriors: The first and the largest sub-series of Warriors series, Based loosely around the Chinese historical text Records of the Three Kingdoms.

Samurai Warriors: Is based loosely around the Warring States period of Japanese history.

Warriors:

Warriors Orochi Is a crossover of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.

Warriors: Legends of Troy: Based on the Trojan War In Greek mythology.

Warriors All-Stars: Crossover between games owed by Koei & Gust.

Anime Warriors: Anime the games are based on are Gundam, Fist of the North Star, One Piece, The Heroic Legend of Arslan and Berserk.

Nintendo Warriors: Games based on The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem.

The goal: is to motivate as many people to try these games and to become a God of War(or some other fancy warrior title) and also to teach people the difference between Koei's Warriors/Musou Series & Warriors-like genre(Games that play like Dynasty Warriors but is made by other company and don't have the name Warriors or Musou in it's name)

DW8: Empires

Spoiler

Before going into the guide, there's one thing you absolutely need to do. KEEP. TRACK. OF. YOUR. PROGRESS! The game won't tell you most of your accomlishments unless they give a trophy. So make a checklist and remove whatever you complete.

King of Chaos: Don't do this on your first playthrough. Buy 50 level ups, your weapons, items, and stratagems with bonus points before starting a new empire mode, then conquer everything asap.

Many Ways to Live: Can be done on multiple playthroughs, requires playing as a male and female character. https://www.trueachievements.com/a198093/many-ways-to-live-achievement

Decorated Veteran: Ingame titles list, ask here for details.

Weapons Locker: Upgrade your blacksmith (build 6 of them on different locations), then buy all weapons. Don't hesitate to use Mass-Levy if you're short on cash. If it's still not enough, do quests for more weapons or recruit characters to be able to buy different weapons. This has to be done on one playthrough, but you can keep all unlocked weapons on a subsequent playthrough by paying for them with bonus points at the start of the playthrough (won't mention it again, keep it in mind when something needs to be done on one playthrough)

Battle Ready: Upgrade your item shop (6 of them on different locations), then buy all items and conquer more areas for more items if it's not enough. This has to be done on one playthrough.

Beyond Invincible and Ultimate Nation: The list of officers is the same for both trophies, one link wil suffice. You can create a custom scenario where your kingdom owns all but one area. Then place all officers in your kingdom and recruit away. That, or give the enemy kingdom the officers you still need to beat. Remember to use a custom character to defeat the officers. It's recommended to go for Many Ways to Live first, both might come naturally. https://www.trueachievements.com/a198097/beyond-invincible-achievement

Intellectual Victory: Equip Blast as your stratagem and spam it whenever you can. This will come naturally while going for Many Ways to Live. To find Blast, go to the map and locate a region that sells it, then conquer it and build as many academies as the game tells you to (can be seen on the region that has this) and buy it.

Master of Strategy: https://www.trueachievements.com/a198099/master-of-strategy-achievement

If you think you got them all, but didn't get the trophy, chances are you're missing Answer Confession. That's limited to male characters. Get the relation with a female officer to A, wait for her to propose to you. This can be a bit random at times, got my relation with Sun Shangxiang to A as Liu Bei, she didn't propose. Then I raised Lianshi's relation to A and Sun Shangxiang proposed instead of Lianshi. Accept the proposal. You will then be asked if you want to marry right now. Choose no. Then go to Special and use the Answer Confession stratagem to marry.

The Sound of Tiny Feet: Raise your relation to an officer of the opposite sex to A, then they will ask you to marry them. Accept. Then rest for a few turns. You will get a scene telling you that you live in marital bliss (or so, don't remember the exact wording). Then do something for a few more turns and you have a child. You can only get one child per playthrough, so do five of them for the trophy. This should come naturally while going for Many Ways to Live.

Many Crossroads: Can be done on multiple playthroughs. https://www.trueachievements.com/a198102/many-crossroads-achievement

Oath Beneath a Peach Tree: Get your relation with any officer to A, reject their proposal if they are of opposite sex. This lowers their affection to you, raise it to A again if it happens. They won't propose again, instead you can now ask them for a sworn sibling oath. Do that for the trophy.

Successor: Join a kingdom, raise your relation to your ruler to A. Be a prefect or higher (marshal, strategist), the ruler should then ask you to succeed him sooner or later. Will probably come naturally. Make sure to participate in invasions and defensive battles. Also do quests and generally help the kingdom out by following their strategy.

Jumping Ahead: Be a free officer (don't be in a vagabond unit, it won't work, so no sworn siblings/marriage/child), stay in one kingdom's region and help the kingdom with their offensive/defensive battles. Do quests for the kingdom. Raise the relation to the ruler to A by doing quests for the ruler. The ruler will mention you in battle sometimes. That's a good sign. Keep doing this and the ruler should come to your house and offer you the position of marshal. Strategist might work to, but don't accept prefect, that's not enough. An alternative way of doing this might be to get to A rank for the marshal of the kingdom. Then do the assassination questline and assassinate the ruler. The marshal will take over as ruler and should ask you pretty much immediately.

Rebel: Marshal/strategist can rebell. Get the promotion, rebel, and win the battle. For the promotion, you have to be helpful for your kingdom.

Nepotism Rules: Get sworn siblings, marry someone, have a child. You don't have to do everything. Then found your own kingdom or form a vagabond unit.

Aim for the Back: Become prefect of your kingdom and betray your ruler. Win the battle. Sworn siblings, whoever you married, and a child can help in the battle.

Strategy Stopper: The enemies will sometimes use large-scale stratagems. You have ~2 minutes to either capture a specific base or defeat whoever wants to use the strategem. This doesn't work if you utterly dominate any battlefield. The enemy officers die too fast and will never attempt to use large-scale stratagems. This is best done on the first playthrough before getting the OP weapons/items that will make everything a breeze.

Brave and Bold: Invade another kingdom, don't take any other officers with you. Win the battle.

Weather Master: Get a stratagem that can change the weather. Build many academies in your territories (up to 6), then locate an area that sells Thunderstorm, Hailstorm, or Gale. Buy one of them, use it, done.

Unrivaled Strategist: Use stratagems 100 times. Doesn't matter which ones, you can just spam blast. This will come naturally while going for Intellectual Victory.

Appointed Strategist/Marshal: Get promoted to prefect. For strategist, use strategic options (form alliances, ..., anything from the strategy menu is fine) and help the kingdom by fighting in its battles. For Marshal, do the same, but don't choose strategic options.

Winds of Victory: https://www.trueachievements.com/a198125/winds-of-victory-achievement

If you're struggling with Winds of Victory and have a hard time doing it with the guide above, do as follows:

Start the Battle of Chibi Empire Mode scenario.

The requirements for the Battle of Chibi are:

Liu Bei has at least one region under his control, Sun Quan needs Hefei and at least one other region. Cao Cao has to control Xiangyang.

Liu Bei/Sun Quan must not have an alliance with Cao Cao.

Huang Gai must be in Sun Quan's kingdom, Zhuge Liang in Liu Bei's.

Serve under Liu Bei or Sun Quan.

Don't play as Liu Bei, Sun Quan, Huang Gai, Cao Cao, or Zhuge Liang.

9+ turns pass from the start of the scenario.

Agree to fight on the side of the coalition forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei when prompted.

Join either Liu Bei or Sun Quan. Liu Bei is recommended, he has almost no territories and might be defeated if you don't help him (happened to me when I joined Sun Quan). Then the battle of Chibi will never start. If Liu Bei gets defeated prior to the battle, worry not, there is a workaround to trigger the battle. It's a lot of work, if you just want the trophy and then ignore the scenario, start over and help Liu Bei next time. It's faster.

Here's what you need to do if Liu Bei lost: Raise a banner, recruit Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang into your kingdom. This can be tricky, if Liu Bei lost, they might be in a vagabond unit or serve another kingdom. Or they might be free officers or dead if someone chose to execute them. If they are dead, there's nothing you can do about it, you have to start over.

If they are free officers, locate their whereabouts and conquer these regions. If possible, don't conquer Hefei/Xiangyang, doing this just slows it down even further. If you have to conquer Hefei/Xiangyang to recruit either Liu Bei or Zhuge Liang, go for it, but keep in mind you need to join Sun Quan or Cao Cao to reclaim it later. Once you control the regions, recruit them.

If they serve another kingdom or are part of a vagabond unit, you need to scout (schemes -> scout -> their kingdom/vagabond unit -> them) them. The odds of this working are pretty low at first, good luck, it may take a few tries. Conquer some other regions to increase your chances of scouting them.

Now that you have Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang in your kingdom, step down as a ruler, and name Liu Bei as your successor. This should trigger the Battle of Chibi after a few turns. Assuming Sun Quan/Cao Cao didn't fail, that is.

It is unlikely for Sun Quan to be utterly defeated while you help Liu Bei reclaim his kingdom. He can still fail, though. If Sun Quan somehow lost Hefei, join his kingdom and reclaim it. If Huang Gai is not part of Sun Quan's kingdom, you need to raise a banner, recruit Sun Quan and Huang Gai, then step down and select Sun Quan as your successor. Or you can scout or invite Huang Gai and hope he returns.

If you had to conquer Xiangyang to do any of the above or if Cao Cao lost it, then join Cao Cao and reclaim it. This is rare, but not impossible. Then you have to make sure to join Liu Bei or Sun Quan before the battle starts.

Hopefully you don't have to do this and can just start the battle without going through these steps.

In the battle of Chibi, help Zhuge Liang secure the alter & escort him there. Defend the alter and your main camp, then Zhuge Liang will finish his prayer and give you the trophy right away. Play on easy, use Red Hare, buy weapons with bonus points if you have a hard time.

Battlefield Controller: Invade, go into battle alone and bring only 1000 troops. Conquer all bases, let the enemy conquer some if it's not enough, then clear the battle. This should also suffice for The Elite Few.

I think that's all of the troublesome trophies. Do let me know if you think I missed one, I'll tell you what I know or link a guide.

Count me in! I have the Berserk game in my backlog and I've been meaning to try some other Warriors games, so this could be good motivation! Quick question, though: how does the Nintendo Warriors section work? Like for Hyrule Warriors do I need to do the Switch version? Also how do you decide they're done with it? Just through story or some other way?

I happen to be aiming for triple DW Gundam platinum atm and am pretty close to goal. Although I'm not sure if it makes for a good story being this far already. Also have managed to end up with a few others as well:

https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/3007-samurai-warriors-4/mecharobot

https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/837-dynasty-warriors-7/mecharobot

https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/6594-warriors-all-stars/mecharobot

https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/554-fist-of-the-north-star-kens-rage/mecharobot

https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/924-dynasty-warriors-gundam-3/mecharobot

https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/2702-dynasty-warriors-gundam-reborn/mecharobot

Not sure if I'll try to complete any other sub-series, but I might get 1-2 plats from SW or DW series. I have some DW8XL trophies, which I'll probably focus on after I get some stuff out of the way, but not sure if and when I can get the plat. Could make some posts about it, though.

Thanks. So how can I become God of War? Complete a sub-series? Or one game of a sub-series?

And when do you consider a sub-series completed? For example, some games have JP/ENG/PS3/PS4/PSV trophy lists, do I need all of them or is it enough to complete all games of a sub-series once?

To become a God of War, you have to complete all sub-series, one version.

I consider Sub-series completed then all games of that series like Dynasty Warriors 7-9, XL 7&8, Empires 6-8, Next, Strikeforce, Godseekers etc,

I'm about to head to work, so here's the tl;dr version: Visit trueachievements, they have the guides you need. I'm currently playing the game, don't have the plat myself as of now.

Will link guides when I get home.

And starcrunch, you can take a look at your own thread, I tagged you there and posted some guides for DW8 Empires.

Anyone going for this plat, get the mission checklist asap, unless you have a good memory. Game does not track played missions needed for "True Devotee".

As for my game S8c1181.png :

Basically, I just need beat all missions trophy, which is the actual reason the game has UR plat. The missions in this game take very long to unlock and there is no complete guide. There is some debate about it being missable too, but I think the player would have to screw up a lot of playable characters on purpose. Anyway, unless I screwed up something I need to play the following for plat:

Zero vs. Epyon (Milliardo, Wing Zero?)

Burn, Dragon (Glemy Toto, Bawoo)

The Shocking Dark History (Gym Ghingham, Turn X)

Scirocco's Utopia (Scirocco, The O)

Get Along! (Judau)

The good news is, it's only 5 missions and I'm loaded with tier 4 suits. Bad news is, the missions are 7-8 Hard difficulty (maybe not Glemy's) and I have to train up five characters to level 40-50 and teach them skills. Also Scirocco requires friendships with two faction leaders and some pilots, so I need to complete those again with him. There is no way to fast level, or buy skills, just playing stages a lot. Leveling isn't necessarily that bad, but I also need to re-earn some licenses, since skills are learned through a random chance from playing with a specific suit. Like it is only possibly to get Serene Mind from (God) Burning Gundam or Musha mkII.

So what I need here is get everyone to that level range and have skills such as:

Serene Mind (everyone, though it sucks to learn it)

Overdrive/High Tension (one or the other depending on the suit)

Instant Hero (for Glemy/Bawoo at least)

Ace Killer/Temptation/Hate to Lose (most everyone)

Little Giant (probably optional)

Charisma (probably need for Scirocco)

I'm currently playing with Judau, since I have the stage unlocked. Plan is to use ZZ Gundam with High Tension (regular musou attack), since I have Zero Range Shot and Sniper with ZZ. Need about 10 levels and at least Ace Killer and I should be able to do it with ease. I'd like to do it without Serene Mind if possible, but that depends on some variables like how the stage RNG is.

Sorry for the delay, took a bit longer than expected to find time for this.

Here are the guides I recommend for the trophies. Note that I won't link guides for all trophies, some will come naturally while playing the game. Not all of them will be links, some wil be my own experience. Also take into account I don't have the plat yet. I can't guarantee the quality of the guides for all of them.

Here are the guides I recommend for the trophies. Note that I won't link guides for all trophies, some will come naturally while playing the game. Not all of them will be links, some wil be my own experience. Also take into account I don't have the plat yet. I can't guarantee the quality of the guides for all of them.

Thanks. Made some updates to the post & will continue to do so as I progress through the game.

Cleared my second Empire Mode & started the third. It's looking good, might get the plat this month, but I still need 7 Empire Modes for the plat/all tier 33 ways of live. There are many tier 33 ways of live, make sure to get one on each Empire Mode to avoid having to play through more Empire Modes than tier 33 WoLs in the game.

Before going into the guide, there's one thing you absolutely need to do. KEEP. TRACK. OF. YOUR. PROGRESS! The game won't tell you most of your accomlishments unless they give a trophy. So make a checklist and remove whatever you complete.

Getting it done! I just re-downloaded this last night (although I ended up playing Berserk: Band of the Hawk instead).

One thing I'll mentioned: with "Sounds of Tiny Feet", I think you can get married and save. Rest, and have the kid. Save to another slot. Reload the old marriage slot and rest again. Save each time on a different slot, reload, and you should get the trophy.

That should work, yes.

What did you do to get the Jumping Ahead trophy? I'm not sure my way is the way to get it done.

I got this one on my last try at this game, and I'm pretty sure I did what you said. Just hung around, doing Marshal-y stuff, and waited to be hired as a Marshal.

It's worth noting that you can't get this trophy and Appointed Marshal at the same time. Not a huge deal, but it pissed me off.

Alright, then this is what I'l do soon (maybe next playthrough). Did you do it as a male character or a female? Always tried it with a female character & way too many officers proposed to me. This gave me a tier 17 way of life and locked me out of the tier 8 one for the large promotion as a free officer.

Sounds like the devs didn't pay attention. The Appointed Marshal trophy doesn't specify how the player gets the promotion, so it should be possible to get both at the same time.

It was a male character. Strangely, though, he was born with the Seductive Beauty way of life. Suckily, it didn't give me this Way of Life as one that I've had.

There's a lot of odd with that game.

I just noticed that the Attack on Titan games are not on this list. Is there any reason for that?

I was not sure if it was part of Warriors series or it's own thing as it did not have name "Musou" in it's JPN name or "Warriors" in it's ENG Name.

So, lots of meta talk about Warriors here. I thought it might be time to talk about some actual play!

Although I said I would play Warriors All-Stars (and I will), I am currently moonlighting with Berserk: Band of the Hawk. I got my first trophy in that game since June 2017:

Gatherer

Collected all of the portable items

Man - the endless abyss is an annoyance. For anyone who might be thinking of playing this one, let me give one piece of advice: put Shierke on a horse. She is so much better there (in fact, she's pretty devastating).

Alright, gameplay then. Lost about an hour of progress today when I viewed the battle log in DW8 Empires. This caused the game to crash. So don't do that. The battle log was strange anyway, it said that more than 3 million troops died. That's why I wanted to take a look.

Then I got Ultimate Nation (recruit all famous officers), Beyond Invincible (defeat all famous officers), and The Sound of Tiny Feet (have five children).

I'm three to four playthroughs away from the plat. 3 if I do chaos on one of the playthroughs for the ways of life, four if I do a separate playthrough on the chaos difficulty.

There's one thing I'm worried about. It's the Enemies Abound title (fight three kingdoms simultaneously). Only two invaded me at the same time so far, never three. If anyone has any tips for that, I'm all ears. I'm already surrounding myself with enemies and also tried the Dong Zhuo empire mode as that is supposedly easier because everyone wants him dead, but no luck so far.

The Hawk of Light Warhorse is a real gamechanger. With it, Shierke becomes one of the best characters in the game (although Berserker Guts is still strong).

Femto is such an annoying boss, and the fact that you have to beat him 8 times is ridiculous.
